Rounds 2 and 3 . . . Everybody Happy?

Today’s festivities start at 3:30 pacific time.

To synopsize yesterday, no one is very happy thast Trent Baalke and the 49ers picked what is basically a 3rd down nickel DB in Jimmy Ward. It may not be terribly horrible if he’s on the field 75% of the time, as teams like the Rams will be throwing a lot, but I can’t see him taking down, say, Marshawn Lynch in the open field without being removed from the field with a spatula. Yes, there are a lot of teams that throw in the league, but there are also teams like Seattle who wear down teams by grinding games out. I don’t see Ward being a factor in the immediate, or even long-term future.

Let’s just say I agree to disagree at this point. But I ain’t too thrilled with Baalke right now.

And to summarize the draft today, the Niners hold the following picks:

2nd round – 24 – (56th overall – from KC)
2nd round – 29 – (61st overall)
3rd round – 13 – (77 overall – from the Tits)
3rd round – 30 – (94 overall – from the Tits)
3rd round – 36 – (100 overall – compensatory for Dashon Goldson)

Frank Sinatra? Overrated hack. A glorified lounge singer who got lucky. Bobby Darin was much better than ol’ red eyes . . .

Moving on, They need a big corner to compensate for that 1st pick.

    • Nice try. You’re not getting a rise outta me today on that one. I’m hungover like a sumbitch. But I won’t, won’t let that get me down. ‘Cause this fine ole world…. keeps spinin’ round. I’v\e been a puppet, a pauper, a poet, a pawn and king. I’ve been up and down and over and out I know one thing…

I need another drink. Happy Friday Draft.

I’m not a fan of Trent Baalke anymore. Last night severed the cord. Baalke and I are no longer buddies. He’s gonna feel my wrath every marginal decision he makes. He will no longer get the benefit of the doubt from me.

    2012 Draft:
    Niners:
    AJ Jenkins
    LMJ
    Looney
    Flemming
    Trenton Robinson

    Seahawks:
    Bruce Irvin
    Bobby Carpenter
    Russel Wilson
    Robert Turbin

This draft alone is exactly why the Seahawks won the Super Bowl and the 49ers didn’t. Jim Harbaugh is not the problem. Trent Baalke is the fraud.

Long way to go there, Spitty. We’ll see what happens tonight. If you start whining like Dennis, I may have to shut this bitch down.

I ain’t thrilled with the pick either but they have 9 more picks to make.

Meanwhile, back in the courtroom . . .

Culliver is facing a civil lawsuit for the infamous hit-and-run of a bicyclist and a car/brass knuckles incident. Throw in the racial slurs, and the fact Cully threatened to beat up the SUV driver and his 15 year old son, and you have the makings of a big fat payout for Cully.

Which is why we NEED to draft a cornerback. Cully stands to be cut loose from the team.

I seriously don;t think they drafted Ward to be Cully’s replacement. Strong safety to CB? Maybe these 2 guys swap positions if Cully somehow avoids the axe/ suspension.

    • 12th man's avatar 12th man says:

Cully will be a very good CB if he can keep his shit together. Brock is decent also but neither guy intimidates a QB and that is what the Niners really needed IMO. Ward is a part time contributor at best this season. I feel like the Niners haven’t put

  6. Is this the time of day again when Chuck says we’ll go more 3-wide WR?
    Because Harbaugh said so.

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

And in more footbsall news, the Niners just acquired Stevie Johnson, yet another overhyped guy, from Buffalo for a conditional 2015 4th round pick. Certainly cheap.

    Is Lloyd already gone?

  8. We just traded a mid-rd pick for Stevie Johnson from the Bills.
Chuck hates that guy. I love ’em.
    Good trade Baalke.

  9. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Well, I am sure everyone here is certified pro NFL GM. so the pick is definitely a bad one.

  10. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

Now as far Mr. Sinatra goes, well, most of my grandparents generations and my moms generation will tell you that the Character in Mario Puzo’s “The Godfather”. Johnnie, well his part in the book mimiced Frank life very closely. Yes Dennis, Frank was a Mook!!

  11. Baalke, you can’t draft a WR worth your salt. Nor should you even bother.
But trade for one with a history of on and off the field problems?
Now we’re talking. Go Stevie. Go Stevie. Go Stevie…

    • Alleykat's avatar Alleykat says:

Atleast it wasn’t Stevie Wonder Denny!
Though maybe we could use him to protect Kappy’s blind side!!

  12. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Baalke for Mayor! Spitfire will be his campaign manager.

  13. Spitblood's avatar Spitblood says:

I love the Stevie Johnson trade! Love it. Leverage behind Crabtree. Looks like Kaep isn’t getting his raise….. That was an expensive trip to Florida.

  14. This just in: None of this draft matters. Jim Harbaugh is, and shall remain, the biggest losing HC of all time.

Did we fire Bo Schembechler Jr. yet?

  15. Spit, everything else being equal.. you want Jimbo and Kap or would you rather take Chip Kelly and Nick Foles? That’s what I thought.

Did we fire Jim Harbaugh yet?

    • Spitblood's avatar Spitblood says:

Are you kidding? I’d much rather have Kaep and Harbaugh. I’d rather have Kaep and Harbaugh over any other HC / QB combo in the league. And you know I’m not a homer, playing the party line. I’d rather have Kaep and Harbaugh over the combo in Green Bay, New England, Denver and Seattle. I’d rather have ’em over New Orleans also. They’re the best and the brightest. All we need now is a GM who can draft. Baalke sure can’t.

      • Jimbo and Kap are your top two selections?I have no retort. I can’t even muster the necessary, and corrective response. But I can say this…

        Good luck with that shit.

      • Spitblood's avatar Spitblood says:

Thanks. Good luck with Kelly and Foles. You keep confusing fantasy with the real world. And that’s how you develop a love for Tony Romo….

  16. I still laugh and marvel at all the talk. Fill in the blanks…

  17. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Oh fuck off, Dennis. All you want is a shiity team so you can whine about it incessantly. Peyton Manning is a loser, Frank Sinatra was a child molester, and you are a fool. You couldn’t even find joy in the Giants winning the World Series. TWICE!

I’m sorry your life sucks, but don’t take it out on us here.

  18. And my biggest “Thank you” would occur right after our Niners shit-canned that worthless POS Bo. Schembechler Jr.

    Merry Christmas

  19. Spit, you have the “Magic Wand.” You can fire only one…

    A) Baalke
    B) Harbaugh
    C) Roman

There’s only one correct answer, (B)
Any other submissions will not be considered. That’s my prerogative.
