Not sure why BA waited all this time to do his due diligence to get back onto the field, but here we are in week 9 and he’s coming back to the mudflats on Santa Clara. He has turned in his paperwork and will go to 49ers HQ to get officially reinstated by the team and get him off the reserve/did not report list.
What happens after that remains to be seen. Aiuyk’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus says “Brandon is healthy and ready to get back on the field.” Great. But it certainly won’t be OUR field. The most likely scenario is the 49ers simply cut him and he can go on his merry way. Someone will take a chance and sign him to a one-year make-good deal. Will it be the Commandos? BA already kinda burned his bridge with Jayden Daniels but who knows?
And the larger question seems to be, what is up with the WR room in Santa Clara? Jauan Jennings says ‘no’ to coming back. Deebo fought with the front office, and BA’s thing was even worse. Shanny himself ws. wide receiver in college so you’d think he would bring a sympathetic point of view, but that sure isn’t the case. And Shanahan was the one who stuck his neck out FOR BA when he nixed the Pittsburgh trade.
So I have no idea what the animosity is. Every team goes through negotiations with their players. Some get contentious. I mean look at Buckner. The front office didn’t even talk to him before shipping him off to Indy. But he’s happy as hell to be back. Same with Deebo. Maybe they just don’t know how it is with other organizations. Good, bad, or indifferent, the TEAM is winning and is always in the playoff hunt. If it really only is about the bag, then fuck him. He got his bag and pissed it away anyway.
Anyhow. bring on the Raiduhs. Looked at getting tickets for the game and $450.00 a pop for crap seats ain’t gonna happen.
Jennings too pissed at Shanalynch over lack of new deal to come back I guess. But Minn QB situation is awful and he hasn’t done much as of yet.
So far he’s costing Vikes about a mil per pass reception ($8mil/6 catches).
