Or we might not. To paraphrase Pete Townsend.
Man, I find it hilarious that people really think that if Harbaugh stayed, Borland and Willis would not have retired. Or that Cox, Cully, and Gore would still be here. The problems this team faces would still be the same under Harbaugh. The PERCEPTION of the team would be different, but who gives a shit about that? Well, a lot of so-called fans who bemoan the ideal that St. Jim wasn’t trending down, or that his window was closing with the team that Trent Baalke (and ol’ Scotty the Tippler) built.
Like the fact that the problems with this offense that were supposedly going to be fixed last year, weren’t. Still too many inopportune time outs. Still too many 3rd and short failures. Too many 3 and out drives. Yeah we had injuries. But so did the defense. Moreso in fact. But the defense held together for the most part. The offense was a mishmash of poorly designed and executed plays. Blocking was poor to awful. And the lack of any kind of pushing the offense to new heights was squashed.
Near the end of the Raider game when we were close, but down 2 scores with 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter and the season on the line, we plodded down the field, using up the play clock every play, as we burned 5 minutes gaining 51 yards, and missed the FG. No no-huddle, no quick plays called at the line, no hurry-up. Just the same plodding offense.
Harbaugh and Roman had to go.

RIP Bob St. Clair

I think Gore might have stayed but that is just a guess. The good ship Harbaugh has sailed and people should just let it go. I can’t tell what’s gonna happen but I like the fact that there is a possibility for an interesting offense. We shall see.
Winder is Skeebs free!
I’ve found amputation works well on the Skeebs…
No way Gore would have stayed. We offered one year. He got more money and years from the Colts. One would need to be delusional to think Gore stays just for Harbaugh.
I concur.
Silly me.
No worry Winder. It’s great to have you around posting. I just completely disagreed with that one. I think I usually agree with you.
Berger, we’re all Niner fans here and that’s all that really matters. I been watching the game for a long-time now and I still don’t know the difference between a 1,2,or 3 gap, meaning that I am not a student of the game just an observer.
There are A and B gaps on offense. A is between center and guard and B is between guard and tackle. On defense they are called techniques nowadays. Over center is 0, 3 is between guard and center and 5 is the outside of the tackle. We need NoFear for this. He knows the book smart of football like a librarian. When it comes to strategy is where it is time to stop listening to his expertise. He still thinks Nolan is a good head coach.
I know you will read this NoFear. I can’t wait to hear form you!
Gore I ain’t 100%, maybe 90%, on but yeah with cully and cox. Years and money do matter though. Even to Frank
Poor little spitty. Such s big voice on such a little prick,. kicked off of every blog eh in fits of jjuvie anger when everyone ignores the ramblings.
Even the Skeebs
brigade don’t listen to his Harbaugh worship.
I haven’t read a post there for a long time. Drinking kills less brain cells than reading that cancerous shit.
I don’t think Gore stays either, Frank still feels he has several years left in the tank at the elite level and the Niners didn’t see it that way. I also think Frank was worried about how many carries he would get and as for Borland, what possible difference would it make who the HC is to a kid that retired from fear of head injuries? Maybe Harbaugh would have let him just stay on the sidelines and cheer his teammates on? Delusional barely covers that lame argument.
Haven’t read anything at Skeebs in a long, long time. I found the place to just be a downer. Let me know when sanity returns.
yeah, it’s gonna be fun over there when/if we start winning. And since they are all die-hard Niner fans hopefully they will enjoy the season. But if we come out and stink up the place, then I just don’t know.
Depressed Niner fans maybe. Maiocco put the chances of a Niner return to playoffs at less than 50%. Certainly it is the popular opinion that the Niners will take a step back.
I think they have less talent now, which will be a huge factor, and just don’t know what to expect from a coaching perspective. Regardless of outcome, Harbaugh had already taken a step back, so I don’t see the argument the crazies make of “anything less than a SB is failure”. Harbaugh was failing and had historically already failed, with the best talent in the NFL.
Move along, nothing to see here.
The Super Bowl win or bust was because we had the most talented roster in football for 3 years. That was the best opportunity we had since the 90s and Harbaugh did not deliver. Anytime our window is open it will be title or bust. I think our talent is still good enough to go all the way but for three years we were in the top 3 as favorites. We aren’t close to that now.
I feel better about the current coaching staff than with Harbaugh’s obvious downward spiral that had started to unfurl. Boone just came out this week-end and said Harbaugh had worn out his welcome.
Interestingly enough Harbaugh admits he wears out his welcome.
Incidentally, this might shine a light on it a bit more:
I think from a pure talent stand point Erik Armstead is the best player we could possibly get at 15. Problem is he is raw. It makes him a project so I think we’ll go in a different direction.
CB or WR for me please.
I think it will be CB or DL. The CB from LSU maybe or on the DL Brown from TexA$$. Waynes, the CB from MSU, plays so much bump and run there is a question if he can cover with traditional NMFL technique. The way he plays now, he would be a penalty flag machine. That is why I am going with the CB from LSU. Plus, Baalke likes drafting from the SEC.
Ha! Tim Tebow to sign 1 yr. deal with the Iggles. There, ya go, Chuck. Run with it.
At least we don’t have Tebow on the roster. That should make Skeebs happy for ten seconds.
Berger there’s another option at ILB for me, OLB Jake Ryan from Michigan.
6’3″/238 (ILB?)
He’s a guy that could be had in RD3-4 perhaps.
Very good production.
Most of the ILBs in this years’ class are a bit on the short side.
Very possible that several of them could be moved inside?
See how Baalke plays the process…
Here’s the predictions I’ve settled on for the LB position –
OLB –
Alvin (Bud) Dupree – UK 6’4″/269
Eli Harold – UVA 6’4″/235
Jake Ryan – Michigan – 6’3″/238 (ILB?)
Edmund Robinson – Newberry – 6’3″/245
Mike Hull – PSU – 6’0″/237 (ILB?)
ILB –
Stephone Anthony – Clemson 6’2″/245
Eric Kendricks – UCLA – 6’0″/232
Ben Heeney – KS – 6’0″/231
Bryce Hager – Baylor – 6’1″/234
Taiwan Jones – MI St – 6’3″/252
A player on your list that I really like is Taiwan Jones. He’s a lot like Borland but much bigger. He should be available in the 4th round.
Only knock on him is his speed Berger.
He didn’t run very well, (4.90)
However, he’s got an ingredient Baalke likes, LONG (34″) arms 😀
One thing that is impressive, he played on a very stout Defense vs the run at MI State.
He’s being compared to Brandon Spikes.
Could find him in RD4-5 too.
See what happens….
Jake Ryan could easily add another 10-15 lbs at 6’3″ as well.
Tebiw may not survive TC RTF.
Speaking of standing on the sidelines . . .
Poor spitty is in full ‘please notice me!’ Mode.
Between he, NoFear and flying vagina, quite the shit show . . .
How’s Taiwan in coverage? Borland’s one shortcoming was stopping into coverage. No one equals Willis, but even he was getting burned last year before he went downs.
That is why Jones reminds me of Borland, great against the run, not so much in the passing game.
Love the old pic of Pete Rozelle doing the draft on a chalkboard, Chuck. Those were the days, eh? lol
“He does a great job of giving you that spark, that initial boom,” Boone explains. “But after a while, you just want to kick his ass. . . . He just keeps pushing you, and you’re like, ‘Dude, we got over the mountain. Stop. Let go.’ He kind of wore out his welcome. . . .”
This kind of an odd comment from Boone. Exactly which mountain did you get over, Alex? It clearly wasn’t getting a Super Bowl ring. Regardless, there’s no question you guys are right; the Harbs ship has sailed and it ain’t coming back. Continuing to harp on is a waste of time and energy,
Let’s see what happens in the draft.
NFL schedules are coming out tomorrow!
NFL Network has devoted 3 hours to it . . .
It actually is pretty enjoyable fucking with Bullit. He’s such an knee-jerk jerk-off. He and NoFear are the tweedle-dee and tweedle-dick of the internets. Good to know I’m a constant nagging buzz in their collective empty heads.
I’m looking forward to going to the Steeler game whenever that is. One of the few teams I haven’t seen play in person.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000486562/article/nfl-will-release-2015-schedule-on-tuesday-at-8-pm-et
What could they actually talk about for 3 fucking hours. The only thing I look at since I’m not a ticket holder any longer is travel time, cold weather games, and time slots(monday’s). Takes me about 2 minutes.
Exactly.
Same for me Winder.
I start at 8-8 and factor from there.
I expect a slow start simply due to regime/scheme changes too.
Cold weather games late become a factor too.
Be nice to get travel games East in warmer weather & B2B if possible so we can stay over between too.
Find out tomorrow…

the guys who tried to rally around harbaugh during the season are now free to set the record straight.
