Through all the turmoil of this offseason, and who isn’t weighing in on it, the 49ers have a chance to at least get some more production out of their anemic offense.
The team doesn’t need to dramatically alter their plans. All they need yo to is pick up the pace on getting plays in, and run a faster tempo. This woul help with defenses getting settled in every play, and hopefully lead to a more dynamic offense.
Steve Logan, our new QB coach, is very well-versed in the West Coast offense, having taught it at ECU and other stops in his coaching career. Faster plays also jives with. Colim Kaepernick’s offense that he ran in college. Quick hitters with midrange a passes coming off that.
The question to me is was and will be the Geepster. He’s had a long and varied career in the background but now he’s at the forefront of an offense that has been stale, yet the perception is that he’s really in the hot seat. No shit, eh??
Out there in Talking-head-land the perception is one of ridicule and disdain for what the team just went through. Frankly, it’s a load of horseshit. This team needed a new offense in the least. I’m sorry to see Fangio go, but then again, I think the defense should be fine with our injured guys coming back, and a new crop of draft picks.
So all they need to do is gain more consistency and get better at sustaining drives. Hopefully this idea of 4 different coaches calling plays based on down, distance, and field position is long gone. It’s a wonder they moved the ball at all. But it certainly explains the disjointed nature of the offense.
Forty Niners Forever 
Chris Conley (6’3″, 205) was projected to go undrafted, but he ran a 4.35 40 and had a 42″ vertical leap in the combine this morning,. His numbers at UGA were fairly unimpressive (36 for 657 in 2014) but this guy put himself into the 4th or better with this performance.
Beware the combine warrior Chuck.
White may very well go top 10 now. He could have bumped himself over DaVante Parker, If ReUndead Al reanimated himself, I’d say the Raiders would take him.
He was always ahead of Parker.
Jalen ran a 4.44 40. I like him in the 2nd.

Could see easily 5 recievers gone unfortunatley before 49ers choose.
Yeah Conley was freakishly good, just so much talent as this position.And yeah Jalen Strong would be another guy I’m high on!
Of course with Baalke,the obvious pick at #15,for a “STUD” WR means we won’t draft one, and if we do,it will be somebody no body ever heard of.
This is true, but jalen might not even last til the 2nd.
I thin one of either Cooper, Parker, or White will be there at 15, though.
There’s enough WR talent to wait beyond Pick 15.
I’d still lean toward Defense at 15, depending on who’s there.
DG-B in RD2 wouldn’t kill me either.
Funchess is just too slow for me.
I will keep WR Tre McBride on my list too. Kid looks good for a small schooler.
DG-B is a major red flag guy.

DeVante Parker was my 1st Pick at WR.
Kevin White just locked up a top 10 selection after he answered questions with his 40.
Amari Cooper, Sammie Coates could slide a bit now too.
All things considered, the WR Class proved to be pretty deep, after today’s numbers were posted.

Yeah, Coates looked pretty bad yesterday. I know it’s one day, and it’s in shiorts, but Coates had a real problem tracking deep balls. Funchess looked slow out of his breaks. I think Jalen Stroing looked good, what Ii saw of him. Shit, Conley may fly up to the 3rd round after yesterday.
His 45″ vertical leap was insane. He almost hit the top of the slats. He did a standing long jump of nearly 12 feet.
Bergs I’ve seen plenty of mocks that had White being the 3rd WR out of the draft class. I’m sure that won;t happen now.though.
The kid (DGB) sounded pretty contrite about his problems. Sure, talk is cheap, but that is why having a guy like Boldin (and Gore) around helps out some. Get the kid’s shit together.
I think they’ll go BPA between DL and WR come their spot at 15. Un;ess they trade up to 10 for White. Which they very well may do.
If Beckham is there at 14th in the 2nd round, I’d do it.
Funchess’s time doesn’t scare me off. He isn’t as quick as he is a good glider. He runs effortlessly and has great hands. He catches balls that are low and a bit behind with out breaking stride. Plus I see him lined up as a TE so he can go against LBs who I think he’ll dominate. He’s my guy if he is their in rd 2. We need a play making TE. If one watches his game film instead of his combine numbers it is easy to love this guy as a football player. It’s a good thing Walsh didn’t go anti Funchess on Jerry Rice because of a slow 40 time.
Boldin ran a 4.72, 40 numbers don’t mean a whole lot.
Unca- I have not seen a mock with Parker ahead of White and if I did see that I would doubt the credibility of the site. If anybody saw White play they would believe. He dominates. If he is there at 15 we take him, period. He will not be there so no reason to talk about him. Parker is good and I have pined for him but I worry that he is hurt a lot. We don’t need another Crabtree.
BTW, I did see one game where White did not dominate. Ironically, it was against a CB named White. IIRC, it was against one of the Texas schools like Baylor or TCU. I should look this CB up to see if he is in the draft.
Don’t draft anyone named White. From my personal experience they’re borderline psychotics with alcoholic and degenerate gambling tendencies. Furthermore, they’ve added squirrels to their daily park feeding. Seriously. How fucking nutty can one get?

My 1st pick is The DT from Texa$, Brown. I’ve still got a little over a month to change my mind.
I just looked up Kevin White, the CB from TCU. If he was 2 inches taller with longer arms he’d be considered a 1st or 2nd round pick. Since he is only 5’9″, without long arms he is being considered a mid to late round pick. He has great technique but even that gets burned by long tall WRs when you are a CB without length. Basically, that is what the scouting report said.
If there were more TY Hilton’s in the league I’d think about it. Or that guy on the Rams whose name I can’t remember. But besides those guys and DSJ, there aren’t a lot of short WRs these days. May work as a slot/nickel corner guy in the 5th.
Haven’t looked at DBs much, though it is a need with Cully out the door and Cox being a decent but not great guy. Brock couldn’t stay healthy, and bethea’s another year older.
I had a couple of Sunday thoughts. Why does one “take a dump”? Why wouldn’t one want to “leave a dump”? What does one do after he takes a dump? Does he show it off and brag about it? I just never understood why one “takes” a dump.
One more thought. Is Atheism a non profit religion?
