Me? I wouldn’t stoop so low. Anyhow, the more that comes out about this, the less there is to the story. The girl said nothing happened. It appears that she got too high, and one of the 3, or any combination of them, took her to the hospital because they were worried about her. So, she naturally filed a police report 4 days later. Maybe she got mad that they didn’t stick around til she slept it off.
Since nothing happened, the hospital released her without any apparent injuries to report, and she herself admitted that Kaepernick didn’t bang her, what are the charges going to be? They let her party too much?
Granted, there are some question marks to deal with. How did she get to the hospital? Who signed her in? Any other drugs involved? Whatever. As it is, there are no charges filed, and no reason to expect anything to change. In the good old days, players could already be hanging out at team HQ lifting weights, shooting the shit, and trying to stay out of trouble. As it is now, teams can have no contact with players, and the facilities are off limits til later this month. So they are left alone to their own devices for too long?
The reason this seems fishy is these guys get drug-tested all the time (hello Brandon Browner), and pot isn’t something that gets out of the system quickly. It takes a month for a marijuana test to come back clean after smoking a joint. If these guys were doing bong rips, they’d certainly test positive for pot in the near future.

Aldon Smith getting arrested again is good for the 49ers. It’s not a bad thing. Baalke loves a deal. He’s identified four categories – 1.) The injured draftee – Dial, Lattimore and Tank. 2.) The player on the current roster without leverage who Baalke asks to take a pay cut – Ginn, McCoy, Rogers, Baldwin. 3.) The high draft choice bust who needs his career rejuvenated – Blaine Gabbert, Glenn Dorsey and Alex Smith (even though Smith was on the roster). 4.) And the last category is the Aldon Smith category.
Why dump the rights to Aldon Smith? Why cut him? Because Del’s an alcoholic and can’t handle another alcoholic in Aldon disgracing the team? Can you hear Alanis Morriesette? “Isn’t it ironic… don’t you think? A little toooooo ironic..”
The key is not letting Aldon distract the team. At this point, let the justice system and Roger Goodell do whatever they want with Aldon, but don’t cut him. Suspend him for “Conduct detrimental to the team,” and then do what the NFL and Seahawks did with the Seattle secondary – make sure they play in the playoffs. Forget the regular season. We have Lemonier and Brooks, and Baalke will probably find another pass rusher in the draft.
And getting back to Baalke’s four categories that make for great deals? Aldon’s next contract? Who in the right mind is going to give Aldon any guaranteed money? I don’t know about you but a little birdy told me that’s great when considering an entire team’s salary cap “big picture.” I used to think franchising Aldon for one year was a good idea, but I don’t know how the franchise tag works if you’re suspended. I do know, however, it’s hard to acquire talent mid year if a player’s number doesn’t count against the salary cap because of suspension (creating dead space which isn’t good).
The reality, in the NFL today, is if you draft well, you aren’t going to be able to keep all of your choices. A lot of players play out their first contact in the NFL and move on not because their teams didn’t want them, but because they couldn’t afford them. Aldon might move on, which wouldn’t be horrible. The 49ers got 3 great years out of Aldon. Might even be his best NFL years over the length of his career once we look back. And if Aldon stays he’ll certainly be at a huge discount, which is great for the 49ers.
Another bullet point to your points is the Comp Pick angle too Spit.
Once guys like Iupati, (perhaps Crabtree and Aldon for that matter), hit the extension phase, that’s exactly how Baalke has to treat them.
Get Cap friendly deals or, wait for a Comp Pick, while saving the $$$ for better, (or more deserving) options.

I don’t recommend this course of action, Del. Sam Kinison made Jesus jokes and Jesus sentenced him to death by head-on collision with a drunk in Needles, Ca. Dying in Needles is the message. Just spoke to Jesus again. He wanted to make sure I didn’t make a deal with the devil before hitting that 3 iron. While he grilled me, I asked if he cared about why you blasphemized him.
