Well, that went about as well as anyone could have imagined. Offense running and passing well. The O line playing way beyond expectations. Myles Garrett a non-factor. New guys Mike Evans and Kaelon Black kicking major ass, and the sad retreads in Deebo and Dre G making plays all over the field.
Purdy was fairly awesome but for the early pick, hitting a beautiful strike to Demarcus Robinson, and converting a boatload of 3rd downs to Evans. 3 TDs and 1 pick works as he got the bad shit out ot the way early.
Here’s the main reason that Purdy never is thought of as the master QB that he is. 25-34, 205. 3 TDs, 1 int. Spectacular numbers? Of course not. He takes what is there. 3rd down conversions? 7 of 12. THAT is huge. Yeah, a lot of check downs. But better a checkdown than a pick or sack. Speaking of sacks, the Rams had zero. Myles Garrett was gassed after the 1st half.
The newly tooled Raheem Morris defense looked every bit ready to be a force in the league. I don’t even think Morris went too crazy with the looks and blitzes but the Rams were kept off balance through most of the game. And but for the soft call on Lenoir, the DBs and safeties were solid all game.
Tell ya one thing, I really wonder if Sean McVay catches any shit for completely throwing up the white flag with 5 minutes left. Seemed like a pussy move to me, but they really played this whole thing pretty badly.

Great win. Missed the 2nd half though due to a family emergency (everything is fine). Anyway, just from what I have read here and in the news this morning. Niners dominated the Rams . . . No doubt that this morning the Rams will be fluent in “silence.” lqtm.
When Rams scored TD and took lead I was bummed. They ran ball well, Stafford hit his quick outs yada yada. After that? Complete bagel, shut out and outscored 24-0. Stafford threw a pick and then totally botched the sneak. Followed by Niners going 99 for TD against highly touted etc. etc.
As for the wuss bail out move with 3 minutes left, that was surprising. But part of their narrative is by showing up late down under they will have better (?) path to recovery for second game of season. they also get extra day off for that than SF does. Niners meanwhile also have to recover from jet lag again once they get home. but that to be one happy flight.

Yep, good that they won and can celebrate on the way home, as jet lag is ALWAYS WORSE when you go back in time, as they are doing, versus going forward in time. I would say this is an exponential effect, so it will take that entire week or whatever time they have off to recover. Whenever, I returned from SE Asia, I was a monk for at least 3-7 days. Just didn’t want to go out, answer phone calls . . . vegetated and slept. Ask Paul – he knows.
Chuck you are right on about Purdy. His numbers are big, but I will take a win over great number anytime. I got home from surgery a little after 6:00 pm, it was the end of the 2nd quarter. I was still pretty groggy from the anesthesia. So couldn’t really concentrate on what was happening.this morning is much better. Lots of icing and elevation. Pain comes and goes. 6 months and I will be good as new. Thanks for all the well wishes
You know the drill Kev. Do exactly what your PT tells you to do and you’ll recover just fine. Stay away from salami, cheese, and crackers type diet. Why? Pain killers they gave me caused so much constipation that I needed a sledge hammer to break off my dumps. Ha. Quite painful.

I’m not too excited about yesterday’s game, except for 24 hours! It is just one game. It was nice to dominate the #1 rated team in football, especially that it was the Rams. Let’s not lay an egg with Miami. We need to keep the momentum going.
It ain’t how you start, it’s how you finish. But last year when we took it to Seattle it kicked off the season strong as the team battled through a lot of shit.
Just have to stay relatively injury free. As this team shows, when it is healthy, it is right up at the top of the heap.
Yeah, this is only one game, but this so reminds me of Super Bowl XIX when Miami was getting all the press, all the accolades, all the love. All we heard about the Rams is they are unstoppable, they are the #1 team in the NFL, they passed up Seattle as the dominant team in the NFC West, Myles Garrett, be still my heart. On and on.
Taking a big shit on that was very enjoyable.
We played a pretty good game but I saw a few series that kinda reminded me of pre-season games. Everyone should be more cohesive the next time around and even more so the next game. I am glad we caught the Rams when they were off. I wouldn’t bet on that the next go around. It was a fun game to watch even though I was watching it on Netflix and they delayed the game about 30 minutes. I didn’t even realize that until I started reading the comments on the blog. At first I thought what fucking game are you watching
