Coming down to the wire here. There’s a lot on the line for both sides. Seattle has little chance to win the West, but they are fighting for their playoff lives. If Seattle IS to win the West, they need this game plus help. If the Niners want to get the 1st week bye, THEY need this game. Green Bay is playing the Tennessee Tuxedos, so they will most assuredly go to 11-4. Seattle has some depth problems in the defensive backfield. CBs Thurmond and Trufant are questionable, No decision has been down regarding Richard Sherman, so he’s apparently cleared to play, but Brandon Browner is still serving his suspension. I’m sure Jim Harbaugh knows this, so I see the Niners opening up early on the deep passing attack again.
The Niners D of course has to worry about Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson. I think the defense come out of the nickel they played a lot of last week. The Niners need to focus on Lynch more than they had to with NE. Lynch is a beast, and he looks to tear the Niners up if they go light on the line. But Wilson brings a big run threat as well as his passing game. They use the read option, and have been slowly running it more and more. So who decides this game? The crowd? The weather? The coaches? Turnovers?
Yeah, could be all of the above. This will be the 6th nationally televised game for the Niners, and they are a gaudy 5-0 so far. There’s a shitload of talk regarding the freshman class of quarterback who are tearing up the league. From Griffin to Luck to Wilson, they are gathering all the press. Colin Kaepernick. For all he did in his few chances, there’s not a hell of a lot of notice about him, other than his tattoos and how he got the starting job. A few out there are taking notice, but as of now, he’s still pretty much under the radar. Frankly, that works in the Niners favor, but in the end it doesn’t really mean much.
Seattle’s a young team making waves, but I think the Niners are the stronger team, and they will prevail. Also, I’m gone all day, so play nice…..

Even down by 4 TDs, we only have 180 yards passing by Kaepernick. This offense cannot open it up, even when it needs to – and that’s on the coaching.
We can’t stop the run without Justin Smith in there. Lynch is over a hundred.

Pete Carroll is embarrassing Jim Harbaugh. I honestly hope Pete Carroll runs the score up on Harbaugh. It’ll make Harbaugh’s head explode, and then maybe Harbaugh will pull his head out of his ass with his pussy-ass Alex Smith play calling. Hey Jim – you do know you have Kaep in there, right?
When a Harbaugh team gives up 42 points and nearly 200 yards on the ground, they’re screwed.
A Harbaugh team might score a lot of points with balanced running-passing, and controlling the TOP. Throwing the ball in a shootout? No way.

We were HORRIBLE on third down. Seattle had converted 8 of 9 at one point, and I think it got worse after that.
ONE third down stop in a game is not a Super Bowl defense.

Also, 6 extra points and no FGs is terrible for a supposedly pretty good defense. There wasn’t even an instance where they had a decision to make or a gamble. Way too easy.
This game was a total beat down? Worst than the Minn, Giants and St Lois game combined!!

Not much Chuck: we came out flat and conservative on O and were immediately stopped. D couldn’t stop either the run or the pass. Wash, rinse, repeat X 5. Our losses tend to show themselves right at the get go and this was a classic of bad coaching and no Cowboy. We stunk in repeating our 2W-1L pattern.
I’m calling our 3rd game hence a LOSS right now…

Criminy. I’, watchng the 2nd drive, and I’ve seen 3 holding calls that they refs missed, and the Niners are getting dinged on bs calls.
For once in my life, I want to see multple WR formations. Hey, they used one and got a 1st down on 3rd and 11.
Wow. That was a hit on VD. Not a penalty, but what a hit.
Lots to discuss here. First off, who do the 49ers now play in the playoffs? The division winners will be the 49ers, Redskins, Packers and Falcons. Seattle is clearly a wildcard. Who’s the other wildcard? The Bears? It’s not the Cowboys, Vikings or Giants. I think the 49ers are the third seed, playing the sixth seed. And I think the sixth seed will be the Bears. If that’s the case, I’m not worried about that game, or more injuries.
Now onto tonight’s game. First off, the defense. Obviously it was hurt by the loss of Justin Smith. Lynch ran all over the 49ers and that speaks to Cowboy’s greatness. But the rest of the defense play terrible football. Carlos Rogers is awful. The 49er secondary is suspect. The safeties are awesome, but the cornerbacks are terrible. Rogers and Brown need to be replaced, and I hope the 49ers find a pair of corners in the upcoming draft. Brooks was embarrassed all game long by both the read option and Russell Wilson’s scrambling and escapability. And Aldon Smith is terrible against the run. He’s awful. Losing Parys Haralson in the preseason hurts because Aldon shouldn’t be in there on run downs.
And here’s the big problem: Harbaugh didn’t give Kaep enough time to get ready for the playoffs. Kaep is still having trouble getting the team up to the line and making adjustments before the play clock expires. Kaep is still having problems with the snap (although he didn’t this week). But the even bigger issue is that Harbaugh and Roman don’t have a down field passing game to play from behind. Harbaugh doesn’t know how to score quick. Harbaugh and Roman must learn how to use Kaep in come from behind situations – especially going into this year’s playoffs.
No Hunter, Haralson, Williams and now Manningham for the playoffs. Smaller guys do not need to be used underneath because eventually they have to challenge safeties and linebackers. Smaller guys like Manningham need to be able to escape out of bounds. Not every guy can have “steel in his spine,” like Harbaugh wants.
Delanie Walker suck. I’ve always hated that guy. I hope Tom Celek’s younger brother gets more playing time. He needs to spend more time with Huggins and learn to drive the Lambo while wearing dolphins shorts. He’s a keeper. Delanie’s a stinker. And sure, it keep Delanie out of the game and Delanie creates deception with his utility, but if he can’t catch the football the 49ers are better served going with straight plays that aren’t designed to deceive.
Randy Moss: Kaep needs to throw the ball higher to Moss. Period. No exceptions. Kaep is trying to stick it in there into Moss’ chest, and Moss’ strength is up high. KAEP: THROW THE BALL UP TO MOSS.
Harbaugh just got embarrassed by Carroll’s squad. Here’s to hoping it makes Jimbo think more about his offense. Jimbo is too conservative on offense. It’s almost like if Jimbo doesn’t have the lead, he doesn’t know how to coach. When you play from behind you pass, pass, and pass some more. The only thing that kept Kaep from scoring was Jimbo’s play calling. Pass the ball and set-up the run with the pass. Jimbo needs to channel his inner Walsh more-so than his inner Bo Schembeckler. There’s a time and a place for the fullback and the nasty tight end. There’s a time and place for four wides and letting the qb let it rip.
For my money, the 49ers’ only chance to win the Super Bowl is Harbaugh and Roman getting Jenkins up to speed with a quickness and the 49ers going vertical with the football a lot more often. Jenkins needs to be a big part of the Cardinals game, and Kaep needs to throw the ball early, often and more oftener. Pass the fuckin’ ball, Harbaugh. You are no longer handcuffed to Alex Smith.
