Coming down to the wire here. There’s a lot on the line for both sides. Seattle has little chance to win the West, but they are fighting for their playoff lives. If Seattle IS to win the West, they need this game plus help. If the Niners want to get the 1st week bye, THEY need this game. Green Bay is playing the Tennessee Tuxedos, so they will most assuredly go to 11-4. Seattle has some depth problems in the defensive backfield. CBs Thurmond and Trufant are questionable, No decision has been down regarding Richard Sherman, so he’s apparently cleared to play, but Brandon Browner is still serving his suspension. I’m sure Jim Harbaugh knows this, so I see the Niners opening up early on the deep passing attack again.
The Niners D of course has to worry about Marshawn Lynch and Russell Wilson. I think the defense come out of the nickel they played a lot of last week. The Niners need to focus on Lynch more than they had to with NE. Lynch is a beast, and he looks to tear the Niners up if they go light on the line. But Wilson brings a big run threat as well as his passing game. They use the read option, and have been slowly running it more and more. So who decides this game? The crowd? The weather? The coaches? Turnovers?
Yeah, could be all of the above. This will be the 6th nationally televised game for the Niners, and they are a gaudy 5-0 so far. There’s a shitload of talk regarding the freshman class of quarterback who are tearing up the league. From Griffin to Luck to Wilson, they are gathering all the press. Colin Kaepernick. For all he did in his few chances, there’s not a hell of a lot of notice about him, other than his tattoos and how he got the starting job. A few out there are taking notice, but as of now, he’s still pretty much under the radar. Frankly, that works in the Niners favor, but in the end it doesn’t really mean much.
Seattle’s a young team making waves, but I think the Niners are the stronger team, and they will prevail. Also, I’m gone all day, so play nice…..
Harbaugh is to blame for this loss for a lot of different reasons. There’s a lag between the transition from Smith to Kaep. If (and it’s obvious to me he did), Harbaugh wanted Kaep to be ready for the playoffs, Harbaugh should have started Kaep week one. That way Kaep wouldn’t have had problems with the snap or getting his team up to the line in the final weeks of the season. In addition, Harbaugh and Roman would have had more plays designed for Kaep that allowed Kaep to play from behind. Right now, Roman and Harbaugh are playing an Alex Smith game. They have guys like Manningham and Moss, and they have Kaep, but they’re still playing an Alex Smith game dinking and dunking short. That’s on Harbaugh. The 49ers would have had a very real chance at winning the Super Bowl if Harbaugh had started Kaep week 1. So let me get this straight: Marvin Lewis, Pete Carroll, Mike Shannahan, Chuck Pagano and others can start rookie qbs but Jim Harbaugh couldn’t start a second year qb? That’s horseshit. Jim Harbaugh is at fault for not getting Kaep ready earlier. And don’t tell me hindsight is 20/20. I was kicked off of facebook for saying this (with extreme prejudice). But, all is not lost. We’ll win the division, and I’m writing this at halftime. But there’s a real chance we just lost the second seed, and now we’re looking at Lambeau.
And we start off the 2nd half by missing tackles. Fuck this.
Those “great” half-time adjustments that Tafoya said Harbaugh is making woudl have been great from the get-go. Did we really have to fall behind three plus TDs for him to think of it?
IMHO it might be time for lamichael james to take over on punt returns .
I love Bowman. I remember when we drafted him out of Penn St. and word came out that he was charged with hitting someone on campus. I said he’s my kinda of guy…HIT SOMEBODY!!!
Crabtree has the best set of hands on our team and it’s not even close for the place.
Nice throw by Kap…
more bullshit !
Season is over
Well, sing it, boys: “Turn off the lights, the party’s over…”
The announcers are in the bag for Seattle why not the zebras, too?
Well, A.J. Jenkins will be seeing the field next week I guess.
Harbaugh comes out throwing the ball down field in the second half which is exactly the right thing to do. Moss should have gotten a PI penalty in the end zone, but whatever. But the minute Harbaugh starts playing Alex Smith ball with Kaep is the minute Harbaugh loses Mario Manningham for the season. That’s on Harbaugh. Receivers are designed to run down field. They aren’t designed to catch the ball underneath and take a beating. Run routes down field and get the receivers out of bounds. It gets the defense on it’s heals and winds the pass rushers. No more Hunter, Williams and Manningham for the rest of the season. Harbaugh still doesn’t know how to use Kaep. And I don’t care that Harbaugh had Luck at Stanford. Harbaugh simply doesn’t know how to go after big chucks that keeps the defense on its heals.
Lynch: 85 yards rushing, 19 receiving.
Gore: 10 yards on 5 carries, since early 2nd quarter.
There’s your game.
All that’s left is Carroll going for two in the fourth quarter.
That wouldn’t surprise me, actually.
Ways things are going, they’d make it, too.
Let’s talk about the bright spots and guys who have had good games for the 49ers tonight.
.
Well, that didn’t take long.
Cornerbacks are wide Recievers who cannot catch!
So, uh, Carlos Rogers??? ……. You, uh, don’t like it in the hands? WTF? Rogers, you pussy. If I have to see that stupid ass look on Carlos Rogers’ face again I’m going to ship his ass back to Washington.
Rogers had one good year for us. He’s back to what he always was.
Where the hell is the RB James????
limping into the playoffs..they won’t stand a chance.
They’ll win next week, then crush their opponent in round one.
Then they’ll look like this in round two. One and done. “W-W-L” to the bitter end.
Well, this has been a thorough beat down. And, Manningham’s injury looks not good, to say the least. If he’s out for the playoffs, things are not looking to promising. I’ll say this, if Justin Smith is out for the playoffs, Niners have no shot at the NFC title game. Beaten in all phases of the game tonight. Only issue is how bad Carroll wants to put the beat down on Harbaugh. He won’t let up on the gas pedal. Playing like this, the Niners may not even win their first playoff game…
Better to be lucky than good
