Game Day — Another One Bites the Dust . . .

At least I hope so. Busy weekend, so I’m getting this up early. Anyhow, I think this game will be the unveiling of the deep passing game. One that hasn’t clicked with Crabby Crabs. The NFL Network guys had a laugh at the expense of young Sir Alex by saying he can’t hit the deep ball, but he should continue to throw to the wide bodies (Staley and Ice, whose name no one seems to know how to pronounce) and forget going deep. Ha ha. Whatever. All this kind of shit works in the Niners favor, as it fuels the disrespect angle that coaches like to use as a motivating tool.

Game at hand? Well, the one thing Washington has going for them is decent pass coverage. This game will be (I think) one where the Niners come out running to bring up the safeties, and THEN go deep. The Washington offense is a definite work in progress. They’ve been decimated by injuries up front, and they gave up 10 sacks to the Bills last week. This does not bode well for Washington. They benched Gross Rexman in favor of Beck, but look for the return of Grossie if things don’t go well. I’d imagine they are going to try quicker passes to get the ball out of Beck’s hands faster than our rush, but we’ll see. Their run game is middling, but with Hightower out, it’s even worse. Matt Millen was gushing over our front 7, calling it the best in the league and they all felt the Niners take it. I of course feel the same way, and I think Braylon Edwards has a big day. The 1st 100 yard game by a Niner WR since when, the Garcia days?

DOINK! And in. David Akers is our MVP. Need I remind you guys once again who said to sign him as soon as the Eagles drafted Henery?

That’s right. Mr. Del Mar, the talking horse said so. Actually, people seem to call me a talking donkey quite a bit more. But never mind them people.

    Surprised Rexman isn’t in there.

Lucky deflection there. Did I mention I started Helu vs Rob today?

    • phil fan's avatar phil fan says:

Good play by Helu, bad tackling by us

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Bad thing is I’m playing another guy in a PPR league that has Helu as well. He has a like a gazillion catches already. My luck continues.

WTF did Rob go? He didn’t give me his NASCAR pick. I bet he’s selling his Bonsai trees again. I’m sure he woulda picked Carl Edwards, he ALWAYS picks Edwards. I’ll go with his teammate Greg Biffle who starts on the pole today. I’m feeling lucky. Actually I’m not, IO’m just hoping it changes with the Biff.

    Doesn’t matter. 1st down, Niners.

    Step on their throats now.

Weird looking plays here, Just fucking go downfield.

  6. phil fan's avatar phil fan says:

Just a little too cute with the play calling, delay

  7. phil fan's avatar phil fan says:

    Good play VD+Alex

Nice play by Braylon, lowering his shoulder on the DB.

The whole team is getting Harbaugh’s attitude.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Alex getting much better with the slants. He;s fitting them into tight spots.

Get this into the end zone.

  10. Kevin's avatar Kevin says:

3 TD’s to take this away from the Niners? Not happenin

  11. grumpyguy's avatar grumpyguy says:

Nope. Not the best spot from the Zebra.

Doesn’t matter: the FG makes it a three score game. this one is over.

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Well, 2 TDs, 2 2-pt conversions ties it . . .

  13. phil fan's avatar phil fan says:

Rob killing me with Akers but it’s all good

  14. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

Well, it’s a two score with two 2-point conversions, but I don’t see that happening. Might see a defensive TD- so far, just another solid, efficient game…mooks

We are about to be 5-0 on the road, only 3 left in the regular season.

Unbelievable. We have not been this solid away from home since the dynasty years.

This defense is outstanding. Special teams are too. And the offense is good enough when it needs to be.

Two years ago, most 49er fans would have traded Alex straight up for almost any other starting QB in the league. Today, there Rodgers, and a few other guys you could argue about. Amazing. Such a turnaround for this team, so quickly. Even more so than Walsh’s tenure. And that is saying a lot.

    • phil fan's avatar phil fan says:

Well said, it is most surprising the turn around.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

” Today, there Rodgers, and a few other guys you could argue about.”

Grump, stop drinking the Alex Kool-Aid. There are at least a dozen others that I could rattle off. And, yes, Tony Romo is one of ’em.

      • grumpyguy's avatar grumpyguy says:

Not in my book. I’d be open to Brees as well, as he won the big one. Romo is no better than Alex right now, and has choked in the big ones. No sale.

And Brady is too old now. Not enough years left.

  16. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Another FG for Akers and more fantasy pts for Rob. If he beats me, I swear to Christ when I call him back later today I’m gonna tell ’em that I’m gonna kill ’em. 😀

    That’s two today. I’m on a roll.

Wow. Willis with 2 strips today.
