Something like that. Bosa has been ethereal in his approach to rehabbing his torn up knee this time around. Ignoring social media (like we all should) and not rushing back into action like he did back in 2020. He has becomea big reader, gotten into meditation, and done things to quiet the external demands and implications of being ‘the man.’ The mental health aspect of all this is a pretty bug deal as he started last year on fire, getting a strip-sack of Sourdough Sam to seal the early win vs Seattle, and generally harassing the Rattler in the win over the Saints only to suffer a season-ending injury early in the Cards game.
He says he’ll be ready for the Rams game in Australia. Hope the rest of the team is also somewhere near healthy. If we can get through a season in relative health, I like our changes. I’m excited about this new more aggressive defense, and hopefully our offense can be more balanced. The run game was awful last year, and we still haven’t really found a backup that can gain consistency behind CMC.
This is of course predicated on the offensive line but don’t get me going on that . . .
Like I told you earlier today via text snarkk . . . “Schmitt batting leadoff and Devers batting #2.” WTF? Both are hitting bombs. Meanwhile, Lee batting #5. Huh?
Lee, Arreaz, and take your next 4 and shuffle them in whatever order you want. Schmit-LF, Devers, Adams’s, Chapman., Eldridge, Suesic, CF,
Is it a coincidence, that Minasian, our pos General Manager, has a brother, Perry, who is the GM of the equally hapless Angels? I think not.
I’m sticking Eldridge batting 5th everygame not 7-8 wtf give the kid a run he should not be batting behind inning killer Chapman and Gatorade boy Adames..Fans can’t stand him and now sadly Chapman is getting death threats, wow it’s really is as UFO would sing Rock Bottom ..
Looking at the FA offensive lineman position I don’t see the Niners engaging in this old group for much help imo..
Absolutely agree AK. Fuck Chapman and his measly 2 bombs (one of course, coming last night). Just me maybe, but I can’t wait until July for the next freakin’ bomb he hits.
I digress though . . . Eldridge should be hitting 5th every game, as he has come alive, despite V not playing him consistently, and moving him up and down the LU. Bottom line? We know who Adames is – Mr. feast or famine. Almost same deal for Chapman – Mr famine #2 (zero feast yet).
Chapman should be 9th. Buddy (don’t call me Bobby Jr.) Kennedy? He should be riding the pine as our 13th and a half pitcher.
Schmitt in LF is the joke that will keep on giving. He looks like a cat on a hot tin roof out there.
Buster is supposed to know this kind of shit.
The messes of the last 5 years have been about setting a fucking lineup and sticking with it. Not randumbly moving guys all over and sitting/using a revolving door of doorstops to man the outfield.
Leave Eldridge the fuck in there FFS!
This screams of utter stupidity.
Should be:
1. Arraez
2. Adames
3. Schmitt
4. Devers
5. Eldridge
6. Lee/Bericoto/whoever the fuck falls off the bus
7. Susac
8. Chappie (can eat . . .)
9. Cox
Liz Taylor was batting cleanup in that flick.
I would put a young Liz’s beauty and sex appeal against any of the young actresses of today. No, she was not a classically trained actress, but she often got the job done well. Her effort in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf was astonishing, absolutely riveting, and well worthy of the Oscar she got. One of my top 10 all time films, it was just four actors on a sound stage. No explosions, no CGI, just raw emotion and craft. She was then still a looker at her age but went way against type and nailed it. She and Burton were a combined tour de force. Not for the faint of heart…
Snarkk, I felt the same way about Jean Simmons, particularly in The Big Country.
Watching Eldridge is the single most compelling reason to pay attention to the Giants right now. Like everyone else, I’ve kinda written off Lee as an overpay for, at best, a slightly above average player, but his recent ABs have revived a little hope that maybe there’s more to anticipate. With a team going nowhere, finding out if he’s still developing is a more interesting question than “what have we got with Victor Bericoto.” Glad Cox is in the lineup, despite his goofy AB and wall collision yesterday. Lately it seems every time the Giants bring in an OFer with a great defensive reputation, a different reality sets in.
11 walks last night, 2 already this game and now?
Bomb . . . smh.
Not a great start. This lineup of SF does not look intimidating, to say the least.
Buddy Kennedy — sounds like a lifer touring comedian with a weeknight gig at the Bumper room in some off the Strip hotel in Vegas…
I think I’ll start a band.
T-Mac and the Holograms.
10 Ks for Harry — in 4 innings! Everyone but Adames has struck out. What futility.
Yeah, just heard the Brew Crew announcer say that. Should never have dealt Harrison.
However Mac, we’re winning on one of our trades!
https://aroundthefoghorn.com/sf-giants-already-look-like-early-winner-of-patrick-bailey-trade-with-guardians
Hit a triple tonight vs. Yanks, he’s up to .152!
Ha! He has a hitting streak . . . one!
Up to that point, 8 straight SOs by Harrison. Wow!
did I hear that? 12 Ks in 5.2 innings?
3 of them Devers for the exclamation point.
He was my favorite pick in that years draft.
cox to the rescue
Dang, I actually thought we would get a few runs this inning.
Just typical Giants baseball that we all know will go wrong.1st 2 hitters basehits Susac looking good) and Bertolucci pasta gets a hit and on cue Wally Cox can’t get a bunt down and pops it up!!! Back to the game shows where you and Paul Lynn were hilarious..🤣
lol . . . Good one AK. Hey, did you know that Wally Cox and Marlon Brando were lovers? Actually, no idea if that is true, but rumors and biographies suggest it is highly likely.
YUCK!
Yeah I think I heard something to the effect that Marlon said if Wally was a woman he would of instantly married him.And he kept Wally’s urn in his house for years and wanted to mix his ashes together when he died.Ok yeah that’s creepy, ashes to ashes dust to dust Brando&Cox forever interlocked..
Underdog & Don Corleone??? Are you serious???
Sorry to break it to you Loo, but yeah Underdog and the Don were smitten with each other.
Glad Killian got out of that jam. I was thinking we would have to bring in Eldridge to pitch relief.
So, they bring in Eldridge to PH for Buddy. Nice. Eldridge bangs a clutch 2 out RBI single. As we asked before the game, why wasn’t Eldridge DH the whole game, instead of Buddy? Just more than weird to put your #1 prospect on the bench for a no-name farmhand when he’s been semi-raking and figuring things out.
Naturally, Chapman popped out with Arraez at 3rd and just one out. Like he’s done countless times this season — utter failure with RISP and less than 2 outs. The dude is just annoying now at his pay grade.
Maybe the Giants have a first late-game comeback win in them this time?
After today’s game, will someone in this fucking organization make a “command decision” to start Eldridge daily???
He should start every damn game from now until the end of this lost season, regardless of lefty/righty. He’s hit lefties well in the minors. There is NO better prospect. So, why put him on the pine EVER?
Well, never mind — there goes the first late game comeback…
Gilbert??? WTF? Right in your glove. YOU DIDN’T HAVE TO JUMP MORON!!!!!!
And that’s a wrap for another loss! Beck just always sucks in crunch times
Bench Chapman! Do something. Take him to the pound, so they can euthanize him humanely.
I kid . . . I kid . . . I kid 🙂
The dude is pathetic, and I don’t say that lightly. I don’t want to hear any more excuses on sportstalk and media that he’s “grinding” and “trying too hard”. F that. You can’t say he’s worth playing just because of his glove. He can’t hit, now his glove has turned to tin. Gawd. Will anybody take his ass if the Giants take back half his salary.? Put Schmitt at 3rd and put Chapman on the 60 day IL for embarrassing play and stealing millions…
This is who he is. I doubt he stages any type of comeback this season. V is going to have to earn his money and have a heart to heart with Chapman or minimally, discuss this with Buster first.
Bottom line? There’s a black hole in the LU when he is playing.
Devers Sombrero
He should rake in a hitters park like Milwaukee…
