ODB? ODB?!? ODB a Niner???!!!

Got to wonder if the 49ers are secretly in the hunt for Odell Beckham Jr. Not that they’ve even given even a tiny little hint of a possibility of trading for him, but the possibilities would be fairly awesome given the way Jimmy G made Marquise Goodwin look.

We have a lot of picks, but I don’t think he’s worth two 1’s, or whatever the Giants are asking for, but I’d think we could work out some kind of deal. Or not. John Lynch is a bit of a wild man himself, and I could see him pulling something like this off. Beckham here would be something that would elevate the offense to great heights, one would think, and would keep Ol’ Dirty Beckham out of the hands of the Rams.Β Just a thought, as all the talk of ODB seems to BE around the Rams. While that is all well and good, it makes you wonder what that locker room would look like with Marcus Peters, Aquib Talib, Suh, AND OBD in there? Talk about the inmates running the asylum. that would be a hard ship to steer.

Other than this imaginary scenario, I’d think the Giants would be retarded for trading him. Crazy or no, he’s a great talent. The Giants need a QB more than anything at this point.

NYG can’t handle his immature, me 1st behavior Chuck.
They don’t want his price tag either because of it.
Dez-like in a way, without the gotta win at all cost team-1st mentality.
G-Men will take a nice pkg to deal away his antics, I think they’re setting a high price to see who bites. Becomes a question about who really wants to take the gamble on a WR wanting QB money IMO.

Would be a hoot to have Dick and OBJ in the same locker room, wouldn’t it?
Team 1st vs Me 1st would make for great TV.

I’m more inclined to gamble with a Rookie WR Contract.
Good options this year too, that shouldn’t require a Top 10 Pick, unless of course, Shanny is sold on someone already.
I personally don’t see an OBJ or Julio Jones in the Group but…WTF do I know? πŸ˜€

Rob, thanks for posting that 1981 Niners-Cowboys game. I just watched the whole thing and it’s the first time I’d seen it. October 11th, 1981, I was at Fort Knox, KY, just finishing up basic training. I heard the score, but never saw the game, which wasn’t as close as the final score indicated. What a rout. Fred Dean was an absolute beast and a huge pick up 6 games into the season. Being aware of a pivotal game like that for years but just now being able to see it was awesome. Man they looked good, on both sides of the ball.

Yeah, that game was awesome, Rob. I haven’t seen it since it happened either, but I remembered a lot of it. I watched the game with my son a couple days ago. Dean tore it up on that one series before the half, and just killed it in the 2nd half. Madden was already calling it a steal. Crqy to see Madden and Summerall that young. Shit, I was 20 . . .

I especially love the TD to Clark in the 3rd quarter that iced the game.

I’d rather see them trade for Gronk if he hasn’t retired already.

  8. 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

You guys read this about McKinnon? He might be on the smaller size but holy crap he’s strong:

McKinnon is from Georgia, and he’s never been a slouch when it comes to gym work. During the 2014 combine, he bench pressed 225 pounds 32 times; only two defensive lineman that year squeezed out more. In college his coaches had to tell him to tone down his lifting after he started squatting nearly 600 pounds.

According to this the 9ers may be serious about OBJ but I have my doubts, too much draft capital:

This time of year people just float rumors of trades that never will be made and deals that never will get done.

I’ve got a good feeling about McKinnion as does Shanny who is drooling with all the schemes/mismatches he will create.
And 12th great fine on his workouts, just reassures me we might of bagged a younger version of Frank Gore who had tremendous workouts dedication till this day.
