Nope, Nothing to See Here . . .

Sorry, these are the times that try football fans’ souls.  Nothing but idle speculation is going on as ESPN prepares to dig up Mel Kiper out of his underground hyperbaric chamber, and shine up his bulletproof helmet of hair. Oh, the humanity.

Nothing forthcoming from the Reuben Foster case either as the deadline to file charges came and went on March 12th, but that doesn’t really mean anything as new things can come to light to re-open the case. Nada as of now though.

Trades? Mmmmmm, nope. Power rankings? Probably.

NJ’s position-by-position news? God,  I sure hope so!

  1. Winder says:

Well, the fucking Rams just got Suh. All we can hope for is that their chemistry takes a hit and things fall apart for em.

  2. unca_chuck says:

Suh? He’s alright. ODB would be a pretty feather in their cap though.

    • Winder says:

Suh is gonna really open it up for Donaldson, we are pretty much screwed in setting up plays for over 3 seconds. KS is truly gonna earn his money this year.

  3. Robert De Luca says:

Sucks that the lambs signed Suh . Maybe with him getting up there and being him we can still get by em’ this year !

  4. unca_chuck says:

For all the Rams greatness they padded their win total. We almost beat ;em with Hoyer. And they folded in the playoffs pretty badly.

Gonna be a fun year that’s for sure

    • 12th Man says:

At the end of the day they only play twice. Rams and Niners look to be the most competitive, and it should be fun. Rams are gambling big time that now is their shot, maybe, but the Niners gave them all they could handle and also improved this off season.
I’m not ready to throw in the towel and neither is Garcon who tweeted “keep winning on paper”.

Chuck the List is coming….Making final ‘Cuts’ now after gathering all the stats I could find.
Wholly uncertain how the 9 Pick is likely to pan out with the additions of OC/CB and DE/OLB now.
Thinking we could deal down if a partner comes knocking too.
All about the ‘lay of the land’ (Board) when we’re on the clock and, whether someone covets our slot more than we do I guess?
Still think Nelson is long gone by then (NYG at 2?) and, hoping Minkah slides to us.
Ward/Edmunds/Vea wouldn’t disappoint me, though I think Vea, and possibly Hernandez, could be had lower. Would love to get back into the 40s somehow for the Pick we gave to Bill for Jimmy.
Will be an extremely long wait to go from 9 to 59. Hoping for Indy/Denver to come calling.

DJames is interesting too because he’s got elite speed.
Minkah offers CB ability which makes him a bit more flexible I think.
Going to be a FUN Top 10 I think.
    Party at my place 😀

      Colts holding B2B Picks in RD2 + 49
      COLTS 6 36 37 49 67 104 140 178 221

      We’re holding a pair in RD3
      49ERS 9 59 70 74 128 143 184 223 240

      BRONCOS 5 40 71 99 106 109 142 160 163 225
Be great if we could rearrange them somehow, maybe throw in a Player?
Broncos are a long shot but Peters and Lynch are ‘connected’.
Trent Brown could be a piece either Indy or Denver could utilize too.

  6. NJ49er says:

Here’s one of my ‘Earl Thomas – sized’ FS guys – Likely to find him on the cheap I’m guessing?

    Godwin Igwebuike, S, Northwestern Height: 5-11 Weight: 213 40-Time: 4.44 (6.56 Cone)
    (35.5″ Vert) (19 Reps) – https://tinyurl.com/y7zw49rm

    GP 50
    TKL 324
    PBU 24
    INT 7
    YDS 32

  7. NJ49er says:

If we pass on Ward in the 9-Slot, I’d love to see this kid hanging around Late RD2 for us.
Said to have been a Track Star in HS however, his 40 at the Combine was very meager.
Has drawn comparisons to Dick Sherman as a solid Press CB with good size and strength.

    Carlton Davis, CB, Auburn Height: 6-1 Weight: 204 40-Time: 4.50 (34″ Vert) (16 Reps) – https://tinyurl.com/y7gyjmbb

So many DBs this year that I’m having trouble nailing it down to my customary 5 guys/position –
Good problem to have, (I guess) if you’re a GM.

  8. unca_chuck says:

We’re all flying out to Jersey for my birthday, NJ!

That would be pretty kick-ass. Got to get as many guys here together for a game. NJ, you need to fly out here . . .

  9. unca_chuck says:

Doubtful. But I’m sure it’ll be a gas.

    • NJ49er says:

Typically a good mix of Fans for me Chuck.
NYJ/NYG/Philly Fans of course due to the Mkt we’re in here.

Also have Cowboys/Dolphins/Bears and even a ‘Skins and Rams Fan in the mix.
Hard to get them all together every year, especially on a Thursday night.
Might go for a Friday night this year too, just to see how it shakes out.
My Dolphin buddy will be bringing his 10yr old Son this year, to get him started on the Annual Draft Madness 😀

  10. NJ49er says:

    Well, at least they tried….

Always hated the ‘West Coast’ bias related to scheduling in the Eastern Time Zone.
Sure, it’s all about Mkt viewership but, it does put the screws to the visitors in the West coming East. You never see an East Coast team playing in the West as an early game, unless it’s in London.
Harbaugh had it right, when he made arrangements to stay East, when games were scheduled B2B.
More of a challenge when they break the travel up however.

    • NJ49er says:

Did love the year we were in Maui (2000?) and watched T.O. posing on the star in Dallas while eating breakfast 😀
Thought that was great, to get football done real early, and still have the day at the Beach.
That was more about the Hawaiian time zone, than the travel debate for the game.

      • Winder says:

Games start there at 7am I loved it.

      • NJ49er says:

Was awesome as an East Coast guy Winder.
Eating breakfast in this little place near Ho’okipa Beach.
Owner was into Great Danes and had a couple of those ‘horses’ walking around the establishment.
Had breakfast, watched the 9er game, then went to watch the Surfers at Ho’okipa for a couple of hours.
Never saw waves like that in my life until then.

Seemed like a tsunami to me and, quite entertaining to see them riding those things at what seemed like 50′ at the crest.
I could die there learning to surf for sure 😀

      • NJ49er says:

Became a Honu junkie after that trip too 😀
Mad respect for their survival rate after hearing the locals love for them.

  11. Robert De Luca says:

Damm NJ that sound slike so much fun I want to come up there from FLA !

this is a good idea …

Yeah, saw the Ram game at a friend’s house in Lahaina last year. watched the 1st half and off to the beach by 11:30 . . .

We were in Lahaina last year, wrong time of year for a game but love that part of Maui.

  13. NJ49er says:

    Rob come on up !!!!!!!!!!!!
Always got room for another 9er Fan !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No problem throwing someone off the couches who isn’t wearing MY colors!!!!!!!!!!!!

    😀

    • NJ49er says:

Pizza, Beer, Munchies and we go from there !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Winder says:

NJ- I lived in New Haven CT. for awhile and I got so sick of NY and Boston fans. They thought the world began and ended with those teams. They honestly didn’t have a clue.

      • NJ49er says:

I recall you mentioning that along the way Winder –
Boston vs The Evil Empire in NY – Classic Fandom 😀

      • NJ49er says:

I’m as passionate as they come for the 9ers myself but, not to the point where I can’t appreciate equally passionate Fans from the opposing side.
Root your heart out for who you believe in – Just don’t insult me or mine or, get in my face about it.
I’ll buy the beer if I lose. You do the same in kind. Easy Peasy. 😀

      • Winder says:

Yeah NJ I am pretty much the same way. This was in the mid 70’s and the Niners hadn’t won a SB yet.and how I could be a fan of such a team. They had no clue as to the rich history of the SF 49ers or of their players. I used to go round and round with these guys and in the end they just thought I was an idiot.

  14. Winder says:

How about that Joe Panik. Great way to start the season beating fucking Kershaw.

  15. unca_chuck says:

Good start. Good omen? The pen is crucial as Bummie and Samarjj get healthy. Good to see the pen get 4 innings of shutout ball but they need the starters to go a little further.
