I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

No decent GM guy is going to take the Niner’s job especially when the coach is already picked by the ownership group. May as well pass on the Niner’s job. So what do they end up with? Somebody else’s leftovers. Probably someone that can’t along with others or perhaps another drinker or a womanizer or a guy that passes gas. This GM job offered is going to be lousy at best and the next man who comes may have to take a lot of crap from Jed and his cronies. Plus the HC will have most of the power or else he wouldn’t come here to begin with. One big OUCH!

Once again it looks like we are about the last team to take care of business. I guess Indy is still got some things to do but at this point the Niners are at curb level and it will be hard to get any lower from this point on. I really don’t like the HC picking the GM but some of the arguments have validity. ‘If’ we get shanny jr. and ‘If’ he really has a plan then maybe something will come out of it. It has got to be better than the Baalky/Chipski tag team.
I have only looked at one mock draft so far and they have 3 QB’s going in the top ten. That contradicts what a lot of people are saying about the quality of QB;s in this years draft. They had us picking Garret(sp) an olb. I am defense guy at heart but at the moment I don’t want to see us draft any defense until the latter rounds if at all. I think we should spend the FA money on quality defensive guys and draft nothing but fucking offense. Until we get some quality O guys our defense will suck just like it has for the last few years.
I would like to see us pick up a QB that can step right in and groom the rookie(S) for the first year or so. I don’t know if Ponder’s the guy or not but it certainly isn’t Kap. I would like to see Kap gone yesterday. It will be a big change getting an offensive minded HC. I am looking forward to it.
Ponder is not the guy. He proved that over the years. He’s strictly a pre-season guy.
People are desperate for QBs. The QB play in recent years has been pretty terrible for those not named Brady, Matty Ice, Rodgers, or Big Ben. A whole shit ton of flashes in the pan, and Dak very well could be one of them, but none of the young guns look very polished at this point.
well Carr is a couple years in and he looks better than serviceable. Webb had a good senior bowl (or north/south or whatever it was). seems to be a classic pocket guy. but then Goff looked great in college and not so much on sunday. I like the thought of focusing on offense but i hate the thought of taking wide receivers early. so many busts over the years.
For every Dak there’s numerous duds over the years. Even in the Walsh years many were tried but few cut the mustard.
Have to go where the strength is in any Draft Class.
None of the QB prospects in this Class can step into a Pro system right now and survive.
Add to that, who the eff is going to Coach this team?
An entire Staff has to be assembled by a 1st time HC and NO football guys in the FO.
The Combines and Draft are on the horizon as well.
Cleveland Browns fans are already dancing in the streets I’m sure.
They are likely not the MOST dysfunctional Franchise in the NFL any longer,

If Pumphrey can produce in the Slot or, contribute as a PR/KR specialist I’d spend a Mid/Late RD Pick on him.
He’s carrying a 4.45/40 number right now too.
He certainly doesn’t seem to mind the work. 1000+ Carries for 6400+ yds ain’t too shabby.

Unless we get some offense all our defense guys will be gassed by half time again. I don’t care how good they look in games or on paper. If they stay on the field for 45 out of 60 minutes we will lose and they will just get beat up before their time. We have been drafting defense in the low rounds for years now and look where that has got us. And none of this is gonna matter unless we get a staff that can put it together. We need offense way more than anything else.
Since the draft is a gamble might as well gamble on something we really need.
Well Winder, Chip’s Offense did the Defense no favors whatsoever.
You can give the Defense a blow by controlling the clock with a ground game too.
Gotta build the Lines, and play close games until such time that a presumed Shanny Offense can be built.
That starts, and ends, with a QB to run it.
Seems Shanny adopted/practices the Gruden verbiage in his WCO too.
Very complicated and, time consuming to master.
He has to get the right candidate to run it effectively.
Either way, it’s safe to assume, none of these Rookie QBs did anything close to it in College.
Believe it or not, the most convenient option might be Matt Schaub, who’s slated to be a FA this Spring.
And, (it just so happens), he’s the guy backing up Matty Ice in ATL.
The ‘Skins have a big decision to make on Cousins too.
I’d be VERY skeptical to spend Picks on him too.
We certainly could afford to pay him but, you know DC won’t let him walk for nothing.
If they apply the Exclusive Rights Tag, anyone who takes him, gives up 2 1st RD Picks for his services.

As annoying as he can be as a commentator, I’ll be paying close attention to Jon Gruden as the Combines approach.
He, and Mooch, typically shed some good intel on prospective NFL QB Draftees at the chalk board.
Could be some interesting insight on which prospect has the smarts to run the Offense Shanny prefers.

I am all for this one and so should you NJ. You got your football guy. I guess Shanny jr. signed off on it so here we go. I have been a fan of Lynch since his Stanford days and he probably understands the 49ers better than most since he played ball in the bay area and had Shanny sr. in Denver. I am just happy we finally did something, the Lynch hiring feels good to me.

NJ- I figure he’s been around football for a long time. He will have a stable of scouts to work with and we will know soon enough about how he handles the job. All the other candidates for the job were assistants so you have to start somewhere. He’s young and I am sure Shanny had his hand on this otherwise we will lose him too. I think it’s an exciting hire.
Don’t get me wrong Winder. Lynch the Man/Football player is top notch.
He’s just absolutely GREEN in terms of Personnel experience.
That said, he’s Rip Van Winkle in terms of football wisdom, compared to Tweeter and The Money Man.
Dungy, Shanny Sr etc are all connected favorably with Lynch as well.
There’s more to it than just the Draft prowess element.
Let’s see what they can construct from a Staff standpoint.
