Where Do We Go? Where Do We Go, Now? Where Do We Go?

Ba da da da . . . Cue Axel Izzy and Slash.

Of all the refuting, re-refuting, and un-re-refuting regarding Dr. Dorklove, the power structure, the changing of the guard and the 49ers train-wreck-into-a-sinkhole-to-the-center-of-the-exploding-earth-as-the-sun-dies-and-the-galaxy-collapses-back-on-itself season winds down, I think Steve Young said it best when he put forth the proposition that you cannot petition the Lord with prayer, petition the Lord with prayer, petition the Lord with prayer. YOU CANNOT PETI . . . Uh, wait. Different situation.   Sorry Mr. Mojo. Yes, take ’em to the parking lot.

Anyhoo, Steve said the following:

“So no matter what we decide to do here, and my opinion is when you’re 1-12 or 1-13 or if we end up 1-15, to me by definition, everybody out to the parking lot. Every living thing out to the parking lot. And nobody gets back in unless you can prove you’re part of the solution. I mean everybody. That’s a tough thing to do because you might have to start over in all kinds of ways.”

I really wish “we” in this case meant him, but it’s the editorial we. As in “we” used to be a Super Bowl caliber team. “We” as fans enjoyed the tumultuous ride through disappointment and ecstacy as we were a relevant team from roughly 1980 (the cusp) to 1999 (when Lawrence Philips missed his assignment). 20 years of excellence. Steve also rips into York toadie Trent Dildo for placing the sole blame of the team’s failure at the feet of Chip Kelly. I totally agree with this as the talent exodus has been obvious and detailed since he took over in 2011. He gets 0 credit for 2010. That was the once-and-still great Scott McLoghan. Not sure why he gets itchy feet so often, but he’s on his 3rd team since 2010 and has done well at every stop.

Here’s the article. It mainly says that the Yorks give no fucks about winning.

Steve Young says Yorks concerned with money not winning; scoffs at Dilfer

Wish “we” could run the team. Steve and Brent Jones. The rest would follow. I’d sell the fucking erector set stadium to Prince Valiant and revisit Hunter’s Point.

Huh. Thanks. Nippy. I didn’t even know the game was tomorrow,

Wow, Bakkenbuwwitracistfuck thinks opposing players go easy on Kappy because he’s not white. I mean, because black-on-black hits never happen in the NFL. What is curious is how much is made of back on black violence in the real world but in the NFL, whites are targeted? Talk about living in a bubble.

Funny how Gabbert gets no criticism for his stellar record as a starter. Why is that, Buwwit?

Got to hand it to you Skeebs. Blatant racism is condoned, but differing opinions aren’t.

    Welcome to Trumpsylvania.

“They need an EVP of Football Operations that knows the game.”
Chuck I tried to point this out several weeks ago –
Paraag Marathe Chief Strategy Officer and EVP of Football Operations

This has been the crux of my indifference to the entire York Era.
They have systematically removed ‘Football Guys’ from the start.
What GM stands a snowballs’ chance in H3LL of succeeding, when the budget, and the Corporate pecking order, matters more than the football product?
They have handicapped the process to the point of implosion.
I have stood firmly in defense of Baalke, and ‘the Football Guys’ from the jump, for this very reason.
Moneyball doesn’t cut it in my book.
They deserve all the backlash we can provide.
Sadly, the football guys pay for their inept practices.

Which of Paraags draft picks have been good and which bad NJ?
Defend Baalke all you want but he makes the picks and he has by any reasonable measure not done well at it, ranked 32 in the NFL. He has compounded that with his stupid philosophy of draft and and develop and do next to nothing in free agency. Fine as long as your picks are good but they are mostly not good. He has been GM with 3 different coaches, can none of them develop players or are the players just not very good?
Add to that this insane fetish for severely injured players and voila we have todays roster which even if fully healthy is sub-par.

Moaning about structures above him, if it even exists, is fine but unless you can show how a bean counter or suit is forcing him to make specific player draft picks it is still Baalke that has failed horribly, no excuse for that.

To the point regarding Coughlin, I’d make that move in a NY minute.
The reason he succeeded several times against Belichick might just have some basis in the Parcells Tree?
Whether Coughlin is ready for an Executive position is up for debate but, his former OLine Coach Pat Flaherty is still employed with us at present.
Knowing what we know of the York Dynasty, they don’t relate well with Football Guys anyway.

  6. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Todd Haley in Pittsburgh is also a branch in that same Parcells Tree.
The hurdle IMO has everything to do with the York Henchman, Paraag.
Until he’s vanquished to the Bean Counters Office and, removed from the contacts associated with the Football Ops, it won’t matter who wears the GM or HC title.
Cheapskates get what they deserve, a product that reflects the dysfunctional practices they live by.

Got a chance to catch the Armed Forces Bowl yesterday.
Very impressed with several of the guys playing for LA Tech, including the QB Ryan Higgins.
He’s another guy that could be had late or as an UDFA.
    Very smooth delivery, quick/accurate release.
Hard to know what our HC situation will be after the next 2 games but, should Chip stay, this kid could fit and, he’s from the same school/Offense Driskell was taken from.
He had a couple of small but dynamic WRs too.
Trent Taylor looks the part of Wes Welker and, Carlos Henderson was catching everything thrown his way.

Fuck Baalke. He had a team full of players handed to him. I said at the time that Harbaugh’s success covered the same issues Sing and Nolan had. A fucked up front office.

  10. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

I’m supporting the football guy line 12th.
McCloughan was bounced, Paraag inserted. Baalke promoted.
The York’s have had issues with football guys from the jump.
I see that as the start of the demise we are seeing now.
Football guy Baalke recruited football guy Harbaugh.
Somehow winning didn’t matter to the non-football guys in the end.
Sad reality. Our Ownership created the mess we’re living with in the end.
We’ll have a whole new level of changes in a week or 2.
Baalke will go, Paraag and Jed will stay.
I moan for the fact that we’re stuck with the York’s ‘bottom-line’ practices, at the expense of paying guys that could have been a bigger asset to Baalke than Paraag.
Let’s simply look at all the Draft Picks being tied to the HCs he made them with.
All of whom are unemployed now.
Baalke will be happy to leave this mess I’m sure.

  11. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Dr York set this agenda in motion. He slinked out in favor of Jed/Paraag being placed into the power positions.
EVP Marathe is likely to Power Position, not the GM.
Baalke is most likely guilty of being the ‘Yes Man’ in the Power structure, something Harbaugh wouldn’t accept and fought every inch of the way.
Might just explain all the ‘Rat Work’ Paraag did along the way to tarnish him.
It’s a fuk’n disaster of their own making.
    They suck.

  12. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Kinda hard to Draft and develop, when the guys being Drafted, for development under the HC they were Drafted for, aren’t around to develop them.
The whole structure is upside down.
1 football guy working under/for 3 clueless, meddling, non-football guys?
    Here’s the result.
