This is my son and I yesterday at the game. While it is a vast improvement of my looks, I was surprised not to see more dissension. Must have had about 50-60 people ask to take our picture. Walking to my car, we got a lot of honks and thumbs ups.
Futile protest? Sure. But what else is there? Not going? My son wanted to see a game at the new digs, so we did it. Our last game was in 2013. Who knew that was the beginning of the end? At best the stadium was a little over half full. Even on the shady side. For a stadium that is brand new and a team that is 3 years removed from the NFC Championship game, this is a precipitous fall.
Bitch as you will about the QB situation, this team has so many holes it resembles Swiss cheese, minus the cheese. The ‘defense’ gave up another 150 + rushing performance to recent couch surfer Jaquizz Rodgers. And 250 total rushing yards on their way to 513 total these last TWO games.
As is with recent games, we seem to own the first quarter. The opening kickoff was a near perfect drive as Kaepernick and co drove 75 yards in 6 plays, with Kappy going 2-2 for 41 yards, and CK getting 7 on a run with Mike Davis sealing the deal with 12 yards and the score (plus a 15 yard headhunting call). The teams traded punts until Gerald Hodges picked off a tipped pass at the TB 38 and ran it to the TB 17. One play later it was 14-0 as CK fired a bullet to Shaun Draughns in the front corner of the end zone.
14-0 at the end of the first quarter. You know the rest. We were outscored 34-3 for the rest of the game. Kappy threw a stupid pick to kill a drive. VMcD was covered like a blanket and Kappy threw it to the DB. Streater killed the next drive with a drop on 3rd and 2. The high-powered Shit Chipper offense then started throwing 4 yard passes. all to no avail as the half ended.
Still and all, we were only down 17-14, and we stopped TB on their opening drive to the 3rd. Of course Mo and Kerley muff the punt giving the Bucs the ball back. Another potential drive was killed by a 15 yard drop by VMcD and the defense kept failing. The Niners get a little drive going, and elect to kick a FG, which I thought was stupid as it still left us down 2 scores. It looked even dumber when we gave up a 44 yard TD run to the TB mascot. And they don’t even have one.
Those pics are fucking awesome, NJ!!!
Nolan got canned the next day too Chuck 😀
Thx.
The rest as they say, is history.
The Yorks have destroyed our beloved Franchise.
Sadly…
Had my share of 9er fans taking pictures of my ride ‘covered in anger’ too 😀
Maybe your Bag Protest will catch on out there.
These weenies need all the negative publicity we can muster.
In other areas of potential fire sale-dom, Geno Smith tore an ACL yesterday.
Still banging the drum for Kaep to the NYJ.
The big problem is, Jed doesn’t want to fire Chip as he would be paying 2 ex-coaches about $25 mill. Then he’d have to hire another one and pay HIM. But the big BUT is, if he fires Baalke and hires a new GM, his directive will be to keep Chipper. Which means any GM with any eggs will tell Jed to pound sand. So, we’ll likely promote Tom Gamble with the (*) that he has to keep Kelly.
Which is better than Baalke I guess, but who knows? The front office is a fucking mess, and now the Niners are in fire sale mode. We are likely 1-15. . .
Give this a day and Phil will post it as his own.
After watching Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ichabod Osweiler tonight, Kappy’s stock went up.
Part, if not most, of my support for Baalke had to do with all the dismissals attached to Dr York since they came into power.
At one point in time McCloughan/Baalke and Gamble worked together.
Starting with Mooch, they’ve had issues with HCs as well.
All of their moves surrounding Football Ops have done nothing but destabilize the core.
Then, they get Harbaugh to turn things around only to destroy things from within.
Paraag’s insertion likely fractured the Gamble/Baalke relationship, and sent him looking for better opportunities.
Baalke will benefit from having him back.
They simply have to be left alone and allowed to work as the ‘football guys’ without interference.
That’s all I ask.
Baalke sought Gase, got overruled.
They have Chip, another attempt at finding Offense at least.
If they’re willing to leave these guys alone to build it together, there could be hope before Chip’s deal ends.
These morons just need to keep out of the picture. They’re clueless and destructive.
If Gamble replaces Baalke, so be it.
Just so long as Paraag and Jed aren’t involved, things have to improve.
A song for Jed
That’s some funny shit right there!
Damn it’s dark this morning. I guess some rain is due. Another day of watching the 49ers deny what everyone is reporting. BLEEP !
At least our team has one win and probably it’s the only win of the season. Ouch!
Thanks to the Lambs.
Yeah it sucks when the highlight of the year is the first game.
Chip Kelly has a week off. What will he do?
A. Curse the darkness
B. Cuss out Trent Baalke
C. Complain to Jed York that he’s underpaid to take this shit
D. Look at film of all the sad 49er games since the Lambs game
E. Grab a ticket at the airport for parts unknown.
Kap has his knee but Chuck has his bags!
Looks as though the planes will still be part of the Home Game Flight Plans –
Baalke’s turn on the message banners –
http://tinyurl.com/zr4dpx4
I saw that but I think they’re making a mistake. The Banner should read “Jed York = Failure”. Hit ’em where it means something and it hurts. Jed and Paraag are the ones who need to go if we’re to have any hope. Even if Baalke goes, which I’m doubting these days, we’ll just get Gamble (after one of those nationwide searches which end in the office next door, no doubt) who’s another apple off the Parcells tree, and we’ll still be stuck with incompetence at the top.
That’s been the basis of my beliefs all along RT.
The Parcells Tree has produced some pretty competent football people along the way.
Baalke may have been a power broker of sorts but, he WAS the only ‘football guy’ in the building after the Yorks systematically destroyed everything around him.
As I’ve spewed forever, what the fuk did Paraag offer other than Contract Mgt expertise?
How did he get into the booth on game days? Dabble in the Draft ‘stats’ capacity?
Get into personality clashes with Kaep and Harbaugh?
The weasel at the top, Dr Daddy, simply stepped out of view and left Jed and Paraag to carry out his plans.
Scot/Trent and Tom ran the show in terms of Football Ops at one point in time.
Until Dr Daddy decided to let the MBA Twins apply their brand of Corporate BS to NFL practices.
Scot got dumped. Trent promoted/Harbaugh recruited. Things turned positive for several years only to have the entire inner workings extinguished by the incompetent Ownership.
Now, they’re tied to Chip as yet another attempt to find an Offense.
Which requires a QB, something that they’ve missed on with Alex and Kaep.
Bringing back Gamble may have been the brightest move made in several years.
I suspect Baalke could land in some yet to be identified position higher up the food chain.
So long as it insulates the Football Ops further from the Yorks, they could keep this ship from hitting rock bottom.
Baalke needs Offense.
Chip needs qualified Personnel evaluators.
Gamble has a head start with Chip’s System by way of Philly.
Let those 3 go after this Draft Class, unimpeded, and see what can be accomplished.
It’s sickening to see what has become of this Franchise since Denise took control.
A carousel of Coaching firings/hirings.
No competent NFL Coaches would touch this sh!t without guaranteed Contracts in place beforehand.
Winder they’re stuck with Chip for the foreseeable future.
They won’t pay another Coach to fish, thanks to their incompetence with the Tomsula hiring,
This is the only thing left to do now. Give Chip a crack at the Offense through the next Draft.
Baalke is better on the Defensive side of the ledger.
He needs a HC to find the proper pieces on the Offensive side.
The Yorks simply have to get the eff out of the picture, if that’s even possible.
I think you guys are nuts. We have already hit rock bottom. This is probably the worst 49er team in the history of the franchise. Jed will probably dysfunctional for quite awhile and there really is nothing we can do about that except not give him our money. He has to fire these incompetent fools who have made us the laughing stock of the league. Baalky is the # 1 reason for this, he really needs to go. And as far as I’m concerned Chipski can hit the door too. He hasn’t done squat.
Sorry Winder, I replied to you on the wrong comment.
See above…
Also, rock bottom is when Cleveland is ranked ahead of us 😀
We’re all in the dark about who did what go who NJ but the truth is Baalke took a stacked team and systematically fucked up his 6 drafts. Sing couldnt win with the talent and Harbaugh did.
The biggest problem right now is Baalke. Whatever happened between St Jim and Trent was between them, not the higher-ups. Mainly, Trents picks I’d think.
Chuck I find it hard to see how, when Trent recruited Harbaugh, to have that relationship evaporate.
Sure, they could have had disagreements over Personnel. Totally plausible.
What bothers me, and likely bothered Harbaugh too, was where in the process Paraag had daily dealing/conflicts with him?
Trent isn’t without scrutiny on his Draft history.
But, look at the timeline where Gamble left the picture and ask, who was left?
Scot/Trent and Tom had done a pretty solid job collectively until all the HC changes began following Mooch’s firing.
They did Baalke no favors since he took over for Scot.
The Yorks are incompetent, as well as clueless in the NFL arena.
Firing Baalke would be nothing but another pelt on the wall of shame these idiots have created for themselves.
You can’t Draft for development one year and have all your Coaches changed the next.
Pieces you buy for Harbaugh don’t apply to what Chip is shopping for now.
For me, there’s a patience factor that has to be applied to building a team.
The Yorks have found ways to have conflicts with their Coaches, going back to Mooch.
Sure, Harbaugh was abrasive, anti-social, whatever, but he won.
Somehow that wasn’t good enough.
I just have to ask why Paraag and Jed couldn’t deal with him?
What exactly were they expecting beyond success on the Field on Sundays?
The team was stacked collectively by Scot/Trent and Tom prior to Harbaugh’s arrival.
We’ve failed to find the next Montana/Brady too.
Which typically is a decision made at the QB position by the HC more so than just a GM.
Nolan went with Alex.
Harbaugh went with Kaep.
I would offer that Harbaugh and Baalke could have had a falling out over Kaep’s development too. Very possible.
I just can’t understand how the ‘Cap Guy’ got so involved in Football Ops to begin with.
Tell me exactly what all these Front Office moves add up to?
It’s like re-org alphabet soup just for something to do.
Jed is a clueless twit trying to feel like he’s doing anything constructive.

This paragraph alone speaks to the sad reality of chasing one’s tail –
“It is interesting to note that Jed York says Marathe does still report directly to him. Al Guido is team president, but it is exclusively in the realm of football. York is the CEO, and has said his role is to find the best football people and give them the resources they need. I’m still not fully clear on how much say York will have amidst all this. Hopefully Baalke, Gamble, Kelly, and Marathe can sort this all out.”
Titles Schmitles.
Adds up to Meddling Incompetence in my book.
Paraag is identified as ‘Chief Strategy Officer AND Executive VP of Football Operations’
Say what?
Let’s decipher –
‘Paraag is my buddy and he knows more than I do. Which isn’t saying much about his Football IQ.’
What you get from that piece is, it’s simply a business venture aimed at profits for the York Family.
Football guys BEWARE….
His Biography is entertaining too –
Lot’s of accolades about his Stadium accomplishments and Technology innovations.
Not so much ‘meat’ regarding his Football related successes other than some Cap negotiations. Which is basically ALL he should be doing IMO.
How that crosses into ‘Day to Day’ involvement blows my mind.
Negotiate a few Contracts. Get LOST.
http://tinyurl.com/h57ye3c
Chuck this is one of ‘those’ scratch my head articles I’d read sometime back that haunts me to this day.
One phrase within this piece depicts his involvement as what I’ve called ‘Moneyball Tactics’, and the specific word is ‘analytics’, which doesn’t do Baalke, or anyone else on the football side any good IMO.
I simply don’t see how any GM would succeed with these Corporate morons ‘shaping’ the processes.

Even with Dorsey we are weak at NT. We are not playing our D-linemen to their strengths. Barrows did a good job of identifying some major issues. When you ask a young D-lineman to 2-gap and read they stand up and look for the action. It is typical.
Either the coaches have decided this year is not important in the win loss column so they are teaching these guys up for the future or as I believe, the coaching is not so good and they are trying to impose a system on our young players that they aren’t suited for.
Either way we need a quality NT or two if we want to stop the run.
