This is my son and I yesterday at the game. While it is a vast improvement of my looks, I was surprised not to see more dissension. Must have had about 50-60 people ask to take our picture. Walking to my car, we got a lot of honks and thumbs ups.
Futile protest? Sure. But what else is there? Not going? My son wanted to see a game at the new digs, so we did it. Our last game was in 2013. Who knew that was the beginning of the end? At best the stadium was a little over half full. Even on the shady side. For a stadium that is brand new and a team that is 3 years removed from the NFC Championship game, this is a precipitous fall.
Bitch as you will about the QB situation, this team has so many holes it resembles Swiss cheese, minus the cheese. The ‘defense’ gave up another 150 + rushing performance to recent couch surfer Jaquizz Rodgers. And 250 total rushing yards on their way to 513 total these last TWO games.
As is with recent games, we seem to own the first quarter. The opening kickoff was a near perfect drive as Kaepernick and co drove 75 yards in 6 plays, with Kappy going 2-2 for 41 yards, and CK getting 7 on a run with Mike Davis sealing the deal with 12 yards and the score (plus a 15 yard headhunting call). The teams traded punts until Gerald Hodges picked off a tipped pass at the TB 38 and ran it to the TB 17. One play later it was 14-0 as CK fired a bullet to Shaun Draughns in the front corner of the end zone.
14-0 at the end of the first quarter. You know the rest. We were outscored 34-3 for the rest of the game. Kappy threw a stupid pick to kill a drive. VMcD was covered like a blanket and Kappy threw it to the DB. Streater killed the next drive with a drop on 3rd and 2. The high-powered Shit Chipper offense then started throwing 4 yard passes. all to no avail as the half ended.
Still and all, we were only down 17-14, and we stopped TB on their opening drive to the 3rd. Of course Mo and Kerley muff the punt giving the Bucs the ball back. Another potential drive was killed by a 15 yard drop by VMcD and the defense kept failing. The Niners get a little drive going, and elect to kick a FG, which I thought was stupid as it still left us down 2 scores. It looked even dumber when we gave up a 44 yard TD run to the TB mascot. And they don’t even have one.
Yeah it sucks when the highlight of the year is the first game.
Chip Kelly has a week off. What will he do?
A. Curse the darkness
B. Cuss out Trent Baalke
C. Complain to Jed York that he’s underpaid to take this shit
D. Look at film of all the sad 49er games since the Lambs game
E. Grab a ticket at the airport for parts unknown.
Kap has his knee but Chuck has his bags!
Looks as though the planes will still be part of the Home Game Flight Plans –
Baalke’s turn on the message banners –
http://tinyurl.com/zr4dpx4
I saw that but I think they’re making a mistake. The Banner should read “Jed York = Failure”. Hit ’em where it means something and it hurts. Jed and Paraag are the ones who need to go if we’re to have any hope. Even if Baalke goes, which I’m doubting these days, we’ll just get Gamble (after one of those nationwide searches which end in the office next door, no doubt) who’s another apple off the Parcells tree, and we’ll still be stuck with incompetence at the top.
That’s been the basis of my beliefs all along RT.
The Parcells Tree has produced some pretty competent football people along the way.
Baalke may have been a power broker of sorts but, he WAS the only ‘football guy’ in the building after the Yorks systematically destroyed everything around him.
As I’ve spewed forever, what the fuk did Paraag offer other than Contract Mgt expertise?
How did he get into the booth on game days? Dabble in the Draft ‘stats’ capacity?
Get into personality clashes with Kaep and Harbaugh?
The weasel at the top, Dr Daddy, simply stepped out of view and left Jed and Paraag to carry out his plans.
Scot/Trent and Tom ran the show in terms of Football Ops at one point in time.
Until Dr Daddy decided to let the MBA Twins apply their brand of Corporate BS to NFL practices.
Scot got dumped. Trent promoted/Harbaugh recruited. Things turned positive for several years only to have the entire inner workings extinguished by the incompetent Ownership.
Now, they’re tied to Chip as yet another attempt to find an Offense.
Which requires a QB, something that they’ve missed on with Alex and Kaep.
Bringing back Gamble may have been the brightest move made in several years.
I suspect Baalke could land in some yet to be identified position higher up the food chain.
So long as it insulates the Football Ops further from the Yorks, they could keep this ship from hitting rock bottom.
Baalke needs Offense.
Chip needs qualified Personnel evaluators.
Gamble has a head start with Chip’s System by way of Philly.
Let those 3 go after this Draft Class, unimpeded, and see what can be accomplished.
It’s sickening to see what has become of this Franchise since Denise took control.
A carousel of Coaching firings/hirings.
No competent NFL Coaches would touch this sh!t without guaranteed Contracts in place beforehand.
Winder they’re stuck with Chip for the foreseeable future.
They won’t pay another Coach to fish, thanks to their incompetence with the Tomsula hiring,
This is the only thing left to do now. Give Chip a crack at the Offense through the next Draft.
Baalke is better on the Defensive side of the ledger.
He needs a HC to find the proper pieces on the Offensive side.
The Yorks simply have to get the eff out of the picture, if that’s even possible.
I think you guys are nuts. We have already hit rock bottom. This is probably the worst 49er team in the history of the franchise. Jed will probably dysfunctional for quite awhile and there really is nothing we can do about that except not give him our money. He has to fire these incompetent fools who have made us the laughing stock of the league. Baalky is the # 1 reason for this, he really needs to go. And as far as I’m concerned Chipski can hit the door too. He hasn’t done squat.
Sorry Winder, I replied to you on the wrong comment.
See above…
Also, rock bottom is when Cleveland is ranked ahead of us 😀
We’re all in the dark about who did what go who NJ but the truth is Baalke took a stacked team and systematically fucked up his 6 drafts. Sing couldnt win with the talent and Harbaugh did.
The biggest problem right now is Baalke. Whatever happened between St Jim and Trent was between them, not the higher-ups. Mainly, Trents picks I’d think.
Chuck I find it hard to see how, when Trent recruited Harbaugh, to have that relationship evaporate.
Sure, they could have had disagreements over Personnel. Totally plausible.
What bothers me, and likely bothered Harbaugh too, was where in the process Paraag had daily dealing/conflicts with him?
Trent isn’t without scrutiny on his Draft history.
But, look at the timeline where Gamble left the picture and ask, who was left?
Scot/Trent and Tom had done a pretty solid job collectively until all the HC changes began following Mooch’s firing.
They did Baalke no favors since he took over for Scot.
The Yorks are incompetent, as well as clueless in the NFL arena.
Firing Baalke would be nothing but another pelt on the wall of shame these idiots have created for themselves.
You can’t Draft for development one year and have all your Coaches changed the next.
Pieces you buy for Harbaugh don’t apply to what Chip is shopping for now.
For me, there’s a patience factor that has to be applied to building a team.
The Yorks have found ways to have conflicts with their Coaches, going back to Mooch.
Sure, Harbaugh was abrasive, anti-social, whatever, but he won.
Somehow that wasn’t good enough.
I just have to ask why Paraag and Jed couldn’t deal with him?
What exactly were they expecting beyond success on the Field on Sundays?
The team was stacked collectively by Scot/Trent and Tom prior to Harbaugh’s arrival.
We’ve failed to find the next Montana/Brady too.
Which typically is a decision made at the QB position by the HC more so than just a GM.
Nolan went with Alex.
Harbaugh went with Kaep.
I would offer that Harbaugh and Baalke could have had a falling out over Kaep’s development too. Very possible.
I just can’t understand how the ‘Cap Guy’ got so involved in Football Ops to begin with.
Tell me exactly what all these Front Office moves add up to?
It’s like re-org alphabet soup just for something to do.
Jed is a clueless twit trying to feel like he’s doing anything constructive.

This paragraph alone speaks to the sad reality of chasing one’s tail –
“It is interesting to note that Jed York says Marathe does still report directly to him. Al Guido is team president, but it is exclusively in the realm of football. York is the CEO, and has said his role is to find the best football people and give them the resources they need. I’m still not fully clear on how much say York will have amidst all this. Hopefully Baalke, Gamble, Kelly, and Marathe can sort this all out.”
Titles Schmitles.
Adds up to Meddling Incompetence in my book.
Paraag is identified as ‘Chief Strategy Officer AND Executive VP of Football Operations’
Say what?
Let’s decipher –
‘Paraag is my buddy and he knows more than I do. Which isn’t saying much about his Football IQ.’
What you get from that piece is, it’s simply a business venture aimed at profits for the York Family.
Football guys BEWARE….
His Biography is entertaining too –
Lot’s of accolades about his Stadium accomplishments and Technology innovations.
Not so much ‘meat’ regarding his Football related successes other than some Cap negotiations. Which is basically ALL he should be doing IMO.
How that crosses into ‘Day to Day’ involvement blows my mind.
Negotiate a few Contracts. Get LOST.
http://tinyurl.com/h57ye3c
Chuck this is one of ‘those’ scratch my head articles I’d read sometime back that haunts me to this day.
One phrase within this piece depicts his involvement as what I’ve called ‘Moneyball Tactics’, and the specific word is ‘analytics’, which doesn’t do Baalke, or anyone else on the football side any good IMO.
I simply don’t see how any GM would succeed with these Corporate morons ‘shaping’ the processes.
“Marathe, who has been CEO Jed York’s right-hand man and instrumental in shaping the front office’s thinking on player contracts and football philosophy via ANALYTICS”

Berger someone else is chiming in with us for a Fat Man in the Middle –
http://tinyurl.com/j7pecwe
Even with Dorsey we are weak at NT. We are not playing our D-linemen to their strengths. Barrows did a good job of identifying some major issues. When you ask a young D-lineman to 2-gap and read they stand up and look for the action. It is typical.
Either the coaches have decided this year is not important in the win loss column so they are teaching these guys up for the future or as I believe, the coaching is not so good and they are trying to impose a system on our young players that they aren’t suited for.
Either way we need a quality NT or two if we want to stop the run.
Well what a surprise! We don’t have to wait until Christmas for the Warriors first loss. The media has really gone nuts with the Warriors being undefeatable. Spurs took care of business the very first game on the Warriors home court! Ouch!
Help! I can’t get up and I’m a 49ers fan! Help!
And I’m so ugly I could use one of those BLEEP JED YORK bags.
I give Baalke 0 credit for anything Scotty did. Why? Because we have shredded talent like my black lab sheds hair since Scott left. With Gamble or without, the talent goes away.
This organization goes nowhere with Baalke manning the draft. Yeah Paraag is an obstacle. I’ve said all along that Jed needs to grow some balls and get his father and Denise out of the building. Paraag as well.
They HAVE to start over. Anything now is just staggering blindly in the dark.
Three blind mice……….
This is what Harbaugh craved, highest paid coach:
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000727825/article/harbaugh-passes-saban-to-become-cfbs-highestpaid-coach
Harbaugh is the man!
Rich man too.
I bet he doesn’t shop at Walmart anymore.
Sure he does. I’m sure he still drives a 10 year old pickup too.
It’s called the cult of personality and cultivating personality.
He bought a house on the same street where Bo Schembechler used to live for God’s sake.
Just an FYI, Chuck. I’m having worlds of trouble getting on here lately. WordPress, my own Microsoft updates, virus? Dunno, but if I disappear that’s why. I’m tempted to go into hibernation right now and wake just in time for the draft, anyway. All I’ve got left to hope for in the season is improvement on the offense. I surely don’t expect anything anymore from the defense I was banking on for my 7-9 prediction.
Haven’t seen any problems on my side, Rufus. I’ll che k it out though.
CUBS win!
The play pen is in full revisioinista mode.
Phil parrots what I said 2 years ago about Harbaugh and calls it his own. Yet again. What a sad excuse for a man. Jesus, come up with an original thought not spoon-fed to you by NoFear.
Fucking idiot. Sorry you got hit in the head with too many coconuts there, skippy.
And poor little skeebie gets all keyboard tough with his skirts protected by his sychophants. If you don’t think Harbaughs dream job was Michigan, well you are at sub-cretin levels of intelligence. Oh yeah. I’m surprised St Jim hasn’t dug up Bo and planted him in his living room. And NoFear, you were much more enjoyable dead.
Spitty is as spitty does. 90% noise, 10 % signal. At least he’s calling out the poor entitled little closet racists over there. Since skeebie is a chickenshit little pussy who want Donald to grab his, someone has to call out the trailer trash.
Rtf didn’t see anything of yours stuck in the filters so the problems might be on your side.
Read a good suggestion regarding our 2 potential Trade options involving Staley and Torrey.
Staley to MN for a ’17 2nd and ’18 5th (which, of course, would put him back together with Boone)
I’d take that deal. MN needs a LT.
Torrey to Philly straight up for LB Mychal Kendricks
I’d do that deal too.
We need LB help. (Among other things)
Well you’re nuts, Chuck. Harbs didn’t try to trade himself to Cleveland. It’s clear that the Jed/Paraag/Baalke cabal hated Harbs’ call for more power. As usual, Jimbo was absolutely right. The others are football morons. Kawakami tweeted today that’s there is FAR more to the shit that happened than has been reported and he hinted that he might get around to reporting it eventually but that he can’t now.
My hope now is that The Chipster goes back to college in January. This will put the bullseye squarely on the cabal. 4 head coaches in 4 years does not look good, and wait till no HC nor FA worth a shit will come here and we’re stuck signing guys working at Safeway in free agency to burn the cap money. That’ll be a riot and we can rival this year’s team for lack of wins.
Therein lies the problem RT.
Even if they could get out from under the current Contract with Chip, who would be beating a path to fill the vacancy after the recent track record of revolving HCs?
This garbage has gone on for 16yrs already with the York Ownership.
All they could hope to entice is yet another College guy, looking for a break in opportunity to the NFL, who’s neither proven, or too expensive.
Cabal is quite the perfection definition BTW.
The more they blow up the Coaching Staffs, the thinner their hopes of ever being considered a legitimate destination for anyone with talent.
All the moves these clowns have made have been tied to, and around, guys with Business experience.
They re-org for fun it seems.
Paraag was replaced with Al Guido, another guy that specialized in sales and business related endeavors that pertained to some loose Sports interconnection.
None of the ‘football guys’ other than Baalke have survived.
It’s no surprise to me that things have continued to spiral out of control.
It’s all about the stadium and outside interests with the Yorks.
Football Ops itself doesn’t seem to get the sort of attention it desperately needs.
Eddie immersed himself in the Teams he oversaw all those years.
Hence the loyalty and devotion to him to this day.
Need we say more?
That wasn’t always a good thing, NJ but yeah, Eddie was all about the team.
Thing is, I think Harbaugh would have broken whatever deal he signed to get rhat Michigan job. Otherwise where would we be? Would St Jim have stemmed the flow of talent off the team? Would he have drugged Baalke on draft day and made his own picks? The team would still suck with Harbaugh as coach.
No question changes are needed. Even Obama couldn’t solve this mess. Unfortunately the Yorks do not have a good feel for football. Think of all the people they’ve hired except for the Harbaugh years most have been dramatic failures. People have been fired or let go for one reason or another. I guess winning with class is just not possible. Now losing with dignity is all we have left.
‘Losing with dignity’ is the York ownership tenure in a nutshell.
. Only the Yorks can build a new stadium which is more than half empty. If this keeps up Levi’s will be like one of those ghost towns abandoned waiting for a new purpose.
RTF, I have half a mind to think St. Jim’s handlers floated the Harbaugh to Cleveland trial balloon out there to light a fire under Jed’s ass for his extension.
The lengths to which everyone went into denial mode is curious.
The PLOT thickens! Stay tuned for the next game. Now we break for another commercial!
No one really knows the whole story on the Harbaugh situation, just a lot of speculation. The last year he was here our offense stopped being productive, injuries were part of the problem but so was the game plan. We kept running into a brick wall. At the time I thought we were actually able to be a little more innovative mostly because I thought Kap was actually able to run a pro offense. We all know now that he isn’t. Everyone knows Harbaugh is a run first coach and that works as long as you have the ability to pass. Once our defense got so injured that we gave up a lot of points opposing D’s just keyed on the run. It was very hard to watch after having such good play from the prior years. I put a lot of the blame on Harbaugh. I know now that Harbaugh really couldn’t win here with the talent we had no matter how good of a coach he is. Next to Cleveland we have the worst drafting GM in the league. Harbaugh was smart to get out. We have a situation now with the ownership of what are their true priorities. A lot of speculation with this also, but, actions tell a better story than words. I don’t see any real action at all. Once the bottom line starts to be a concern we probably will see some change. Jed’s motives need to be challenged but how to do that I don’t know.
Yeah, that’s pretty much how I feel about the situation. Whether Harbaugh drove it, or the circumstances just fell into magical place, doesn’t really matter. By the time he left though, he saw clearly what was happening within the organization.
Chuck let me propose a new protest activity at the stadium.
Erect Festivus Poles with a York theme.
Everyone can gather ’round and…
AIR GRIEVANCES!
These fu*kers have to go.
Eddie for Owner Again should be flown behind planes too.
That would probably piss Denise off more than anything else.
Shit, give it to Eddie’s daughter. She sounds like she’s got more of a clue than the Kedorkians.
Eddie may not be interested or, legally permitted to return to the NFL but….
There’s another twist you/we can protest on.
Our own Festivus movement…
DeBartolo or York?
HEIR GRIEVANCES
Put it behind a plane, bumper stickers, hats etc.
Yank The Yorks!
Yank the DORKS!
Light a fire under Harbaugh, seriously? After he’s just come from his third straight NFCCG and within 6 inches of reaching the Super Bowl for the second straight year? Remember the timeline. That and not later is when the idiots tried to trade him to the worst franchise in the NFL.
Yeah, that sounds exactly on par with the intelligence of Jed and Paraag’s other moves since they arrived over ten years ago.
I’d lose ALL respect for my employer at that point. So would any man with an ounce of pride.
