The Trade Talk Instantly Heats Up

I didn’t think it would happen this soon, but the 49ers and Broncos are already discussing a trade for their once-and-future-passed-him-by quarterback, Colin Kaepernick. The 49ers want a 2nd. Denver wants a 3rd. If this is the only sticking point, this will happen fairly quickly. I thought they’d wait till after April Fools day, but I think Denver is in, not desperation mode, but ‘let’s get this shit done and move on’ mode. The rumors around Gary Kubiak wanting Kaepernick started the day Kappy was benched by Jimmy (bad dream) Tomsula last year.

Since there are a ton of fans that are waiting to say ‘good riddance’ to the bicep-kissing one, I have to say be careful what you wish for. Kaepernick, for al his problems last year, is a shit-ton better than Blaine Gabbert. But for 2 botched FGs, Gabbert is 1-7 here. Sure, he’s been on shitty teams, but the 49er team he had was better than the one Kappy had to deal with. The line got better, and the run game came around some. The biggest problem with Gabbert is gaining 5 years on 3rd and 7. He constantly checked down in the face of getting first downs downfield. This is what drove Alex out of here. What good is a great completion percentage if you are throwing 4 yard passes?

Beyond that, Kaepernick must be dancing in the streets to have the possibility of going from the 49ers to the Super Bowl champs.  And that has to mean something that they see something in him that we don’t. So, if he goes, what then?

Well, we get to the draft. Trent Baalke has ignored the QB position his entire tenure here. Kappy himself was Harbaugh’s guy, and he ignored the position for the last 3 drafts. Once Alex went he should have taken a shot in the middle rounds at a viable backup. I’m of the mind that we either go with Goff or forego drafting a QB early. he’s the only one I like.

Without Goff, I foresee at least another 4 years of suckitude. barring some crazy maneuvering down the road. Chip os going to have a tough row to hoe if Baalke doesn’t get a boatload of talent on the offensive side of the ball this year. Including quarterback, if this trade comes to pass.

And we are interested in RG III????

This gets stupider and stupider by the minute.

  2. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I think the Browns are interested in Kap also. It would be a lot better to pull a 2nd rounder from them instead of Denver. I also think if Goff is there we take him because every one is really gonna be a work in progress. Very few actually step right in and play. I also think it would be a positive message to the team and the fans.

Bullit points his head into the meat grinder and the grinder quits. No mas!

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I don’t know about the Browns. They may be going all in on the draft. Then get a Matt Moore placeholder guy. That’s what I would do anyway.

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Matt Moore, Kellen Moore.

    No less, no more . . .

$65 mill in cap space and we aren’t doing anything? What in the wide wide world pf sports is going on here?

Radnich (and the acolytes of course) is jumping on this as being Chip Kelly’s fault. As in, he’s instantly the big swinging dick in the building, so it is his fault the team isn’t attracting or signing anyone.

Really? Did Trent suddenly bend over and say come on in Chip! Your team now! I’ll sit back here under this blanket. I won’t bother to try and sign anyone. I’ll leave that completely up to you. Even though you did such a good job with Philly last year and said you wanted to focus on the coaching.

Christ. The idiocy out there. Still and all, I thought we’d try to improve the O line with a signing and maybe a WR or 2. Are we holding out for AD? I mean really. Theres signing free agents, and there’s starting huge bonfires of money. $85 mill for Olivier Vernon is stupidity personified. Osweiler’s contract is another pipe dream of epic proportions. $62 mill for Janoris (Mr. Toasty) Jenkins? Please.

Trent hasn’t been a big player in the FA market anyway, so I don’t really get why people are freaking out about this. Snacks Harrison is about the only guy I see as a value type signing. The rest are overpriced prayers. Sean Smith? Safety is about the only spot we don’t need help at.

Make no mistake, Trent is already on thin ice. Some want to deflect the blame away from him even more. Crazy.

How many are ready to switch to the Raiders?

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Don;t you be bailing, Nip. Someone has to rearrange the deck chairs.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Now I hear that the team is ‘fine’ going ahead with Blaine Gabbert at QB.

Be still my lifeless heart. If we don’t draft a QB in the 1st round, we have basically written off the next 3 years.

A loud OUCH to that! Guess what……..I completely rolled out of bed…… covers and all this morning. Banged my head and felt stupid. That probably doesn’t mean anything but I woke up. I hope Baalke wakes up and does something.

Kappy to the Browns? We’d get a better draft pick as Denver’s 2 is nearly the same as Cleve’s 3. Plus, they’d hopefully give us more that Denver would. Looks like it’ll happen in the next day or 2.

I have no idea what the Brownies are up to. I doubt that the Browns’ front office does, either. They got Hue Jackson, who I would’ve loved to replace Tom – foola. But they let their four best players leave through FA, including Pro Bowler Alex Mack, and THEY STILL HAVE JOHNNY!!!

Get your dartboard out. If one of the darts hits Kappy, they’ll get him. The Brownies would have a rough go of it even if they had a clue what they are doing. A division with the Bungles, Steelers, and Ravens? Good luck with that.

For Kappy’s sake I hope he goes to Denver, of course. I figured that the Niners, as vindictive as Jedi and Trent seem to be, would trade him to Cleveland in a heartbeat – The Factory of Sadness.

  11. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The beauty of Kappy to the Browns is expectations are underground so any sign of life is an improvement. Thing is though, if anyone can get something out of CK, Hue isn’t a bad choice. Can’t figure why he wouldn’t want to go to Denver though. Expectation obfuscation? Being the guy to replace Peyton Manning would be a pretty rough row to hoe.

Buwwitt once again stamps his little feet again saying “Look at me! I’m with you guys!! Like me! Please like me!” After 9 years of saying the team is right at all costs, he’s Mrs. anarchist. God, what a pathetic cocksucking rodent. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. I should go back and find some of his 50,000 posts to Dennis where he says true fans don’t question the front office, They support the team no matter what. And I haven’t ‘turrned’ on Kaepernick. God, how fucking stupid are you, Buwwitt? The best part of you ran down you mom’s leg.

  12. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I thought we would at least have a couple of decent OL’s by now. This was the time to bolster both our lines. I don’t get it.

  13. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Bullit reads this blog of course! Where else would he get his material? He’s a fan of thoughtful discourse and pines for the experience of this blog. Apparently he’s getting tired of smooching Bakkentom and probably wants a bit of a challenge which this blog can provide him. Good luck to Bullit!

  14. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I can’t even think about thoughtful discourse at this time. It looks like we are pretty much doomed.

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, Winder. There are guys like Kelvin Beachum still available. He’s coming off injury, but guys like Osemele and Alex Mack are already off the table. Cordy Glenn was tagged. We’re looking at Ted Larsen. A guy rated near the bottom of guards who played for AZ last year. We need a bookend shitty guard to bookend Pears.

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, it’s pretty funny that i post shit here, and Buwwitt posts in on Skeebies blog minutes later.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Got a question for Buwwitt. If Kaepernick is so shitty why would the super bowl champs be interested?

    Crickets.

Word out of Skeebies blog is that Bakkentom can’t type because his arm up is so far up Buwwit’s ass.
