Game Day-Detroit Rock City

Well, it’s the penultimate game of this list campaign. Surprisingly Detroit looks like s much better team than us despite their 5-9 record.

That being said I don’t think we do very well today. Our road woes continue, and we secure a top 5 pick. 4-12 with a bullet.

    Or the head beancounter

Ah the end is near, here is my take on the Niners, first there have been times when the offense and defense has played well, they have just not been consistent. I think the Niners need some really good players to play consistently. I will use Troy Aikman as an example, the first two years the Cowboys were 2-14 with Troy at QB. Jimmy J came to him and said I will build a team around you. So with that said I think the Niners need to not go crazy and fire everyone or just release players. They just need to get better players, draft, free agency whatever it takes

That’s probably what they will do. A massive firing will force the Yorks to start over and admit their mistakes and that is very hard to do. Perhaps after another crummy season that will happen.

    Chipper was canned, Nipper.

The first domino has fallen. Many will follow.

Be fun to see chip hook up with Kappy in a pistol offense. Here or elsewhere.

Amazing that there are people that think this team is only missing a head coach. As if this was a super bowl team but for St Jum.

    Too funny.

As if the injuries and defections would have been magically solved by Harbs.

Its like Norm from Cheers on SNL extolling the virtues of Mike Ditka.

Please, no Holmgren for any position. To mix metaphores, that bus has sailed…

Yeah, winders post is right. Start with canning Baalke. They have some players. Hyde, bowman. T smith, kilgore, and some of the d linemen.

He f t that they can play at times means they aren’t all bad.

Gabbert is your place holder for Goff

That’s really all Jed has to do is just fire Baalke. Plus find a good GM, and then let him do the house cleaning. In my mind it will make Jed look a lot better than many of the other options.

      • Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Fire Baalke and the whole pathetic coaching staff goes too. Is Jed willing to toss that many overboard? The question remains ……what’s next? Who’s available to make a difference?

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Scott Pioli . . .

I can’t agree with firing Baalke. He was a major reason we built the window that Harbaugh could not win a Super Bowl with. Jed did good to fire Harbaugh for the same reason Chip Kelley just got fired. Genius coaches but couldn’t get along with other management. Kelly took a 4 win team and went 26-21. I agree he needed to be fired, just as I agreed Harbaugh should have been fired. Both of those regimes were going downhill. Harbaugh was worse as he took the joy of the game from the players causing a huge IR list and mass retirements. Players lost their heart for the game around him.

BTW, the reason we were such a good tackling team under Harbaugh was Singletary’s tackling drills, aka the Nutcracker.

I say give Baalke some time to build the window again. He will. Be patient.

    Happy new year.

What? Another 3 years to build a depleted roster? What has he been doing these last 3 years? look at the drafts posted here. 2010 is Scotty. The rest are Trent’s.

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Right. Look at the 2011 team, the 2012 team, and even the 2013 team. Most of that was Scotty’s doing. Now look at the roster.

    Who has Baalke drafted?
