Game Day-Detroit Rock City

Well, it’s the penultimate game of this list campaign. Surprisingly Detroit looks like s much better team than us despite their 5-9 record.

That being said I don’t think we do very well today. Our road woes continue, and we secure a top 5 pick. 4-12 with a bullet.

Jesus, we’re probably gonna win this game. But it won’t change the succatude it will just prolong it. I hate hoping to lose but at this point I don’t want to drop in the draft.

Well this could be interesting game, I have a terrible Chest cold, might not make it through the whole game!! I hate colds!! 😡😡😡

  3. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

So, when Hayne comes in, I know he’s getting the ball on a run. If I know that, then the Lions know it and that’s why they tee off and hit him basically as soon as he’s given the ball. Why not play action when he comes in, or a flat pass to him. Seriously, the Niner offensive play calling is worse than high school on a consistent basis…

  4. zumiee's avatar zumiee says:

Gabbert seems kind of DeBerg-ish to me. “Just good enough to lose.”

  5. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

I don’t know about this HGH and Peyton Manning BS. As I say about baseball, nobody is beyond suspicion these days in using PED to help themselves. Doesn’t mean they use them, but nobody is beyond suspicion. Apparently his agent per ESPN report is not denying that Manning’s wife was receiving HGH supplements. Unless she needed that for some real medical need, and that could be, if it were an elective treatment for her, I don’t see how Manning would not recognize that situation as potentially dangerous to his reputation…

  6. zumiee's avatar zumiee says:

When Gronk goes out wide for the Patriots, he becomes basically what Dwight Clark used to be for the 49ers. It’s a reminder of how good Clark was.

  7. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

At least the Niner D has decided to let the idiot Lions win a meaningless game and push their draft spot down further. Seven offsides penalties so far on the Niner D…

  8. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

How/why do the Niners keep making plays on a 3rd or 4th down when the intended receiver is not past the first down stick? I would argue in football, that is insanity…

  9. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Second half offensive plays Lions to Niners: 39-14

  10. zumiee's avatar zumiee says:

Ha! The Patriots lost on a blown overtime coin-toss! Hilarious. Leave it to the officials to find new ways to blow it.

  11. zumiee's avatar zumiee says:

Ref: The Patriots have won the coin toss. You wanna kick it?
Patriot: (with a look of confusion) We wanna kick it?
Ref: Patriots have chosen to kick it. The Jets will receive the kick.
Patriot: We won the toss; don’t we get to choose?
Ref: You chose to kick it.

    • snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

ESPN now reports that Belichick says he told the Pats captains to elect to kick first if they won the OT toss…

  12. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Keep Rathman, can the rest of this shit staff. They bring them back they’re an even bigger joke than they are right now.

  13. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

What I want to know is why the guy can’t change his mind while they’re still out at midfield for the coin toss. A coach can change his mind on a penalty if something changes, but not this? Makes no sense.

  14. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

If the Niners can pull of a loss against the Rams, they should be in the top 5 picks. Who do they grab?

    • snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

First, they fire the coaching staff and Baalke. Then, pick a QB. You can’t win in this league without an elite to near elite QB. Just can’t. Gabbert isn’t it. Go from there to shore up the OLine, and pick some wideouts that can get open and catch the damn ball. The offense is beyond horrendous…

  15. bigflavor's avatar Flavor says:

I haven’t seen the replay on this but I thought I heard Tomsula say, in response to a question about whether Detroit was a *step ahead of the Niners*, “I don’t know if they were a step ahead. Obviously, they were a step ahead.”
Or something like that. Did any of you guys hear that? Is he just dense?

    • snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

I feel sorry for the guy, sort of. He’s a perfect D Line coach, but not HC material. Now, if it is true he secretly back-stabbed Harbs and angled last mid-season to get this job, then I have no pity for the guy at all that the media doesn’t even have to try to make him look like a schmuck. He doesn’t seem smart enough to play political games, but maybe looks are deceiving. Look at the coaches, save Harbs, that the Dorks have hired since EddieD gave up the team — Erickson, Nolan, Sing, JimmyT — wow, what a crew…

      • Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

The Yorks should fire themselves. They just don’t have a clue about NFL Football. Jed is just the latest inept York of a long line of well meaning dopes. They may know about shopping malls or making money and that’s should be what they should stick to….. not football.

      • bigflavor's avatar Flavor says:

I don’t feel sorry for him, what’s he getting paid, 3 mil over the course of his deal? That’s plenty and if he’s the guy to stand up there like a stooge in front of the media, so be it. I was just happy he made it through the entire press conference without ripping off a low murmuring fart. He’s clearly getting better at the pressers. lulz

      • snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Yeah, If I were making coupla million a year, I’d be happy to be embarrassed at a presser every week, since at the end of every two weeks my bank account would be very very happy…

  16. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

You gotta love pro football……guys getting paid millions for doing lousy. Yeah I know, the coaches are depending on the players who are not very good this season. Too damn young and not very good is a bad combination. And now the Lambs, the final indignity of this sorry-ass season. This would make for bad fiction but alas, it’s reality in Santa Clara.

  17. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

The public will not stand for the same old coaches and administration for next season. They’re just kidding themselves by keeping this coaching staff. Levi will be empty of paying fans next season unless they make some drastic changes.

    • bigflavor's avatar Flavor says:

hopefully, you’re right. But the Yorks already have the dough with the PSL $ and they’re making a shit ton with other events so I don’t see them selling anytime in the next few years. And by then, we could be good again.

      • Winder's avatar Winder says:

They are gonna make bank with the SB. It was really bad judgment on Jed’s part that got us into this position. There were lots of things that went down last off-season besides Harbaugh. Hopefully, he will try and dig us out of this mess. If not it’s really gonna be along dry spell.

  18. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

That Tomsula looks like a pathetic fool but Baalke is the key to this whole mess. He’s got to walk the plank for the good of the Yorks. The Yorks save their reputations by cutting this Baalke down and out. Yeah someone will hire this guy and good riddance. He’s no prize. In a few years he’ll be head scout somewhere.

  19. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

I think Nipper is right about the Niners needing to make wholesale changes, but I also think the head tool, York, will bring Tomsula back for whatever nefarious reasons he can come up with. The Rams stuffed Seattle yesterday and will likely do the same to the 49ers. If that happens and the entire staff and Baalke aren’t shit-canned, the Yorks are going to have mass fan mutiny on their hands. Anybody who think the Tomsula regime is the way to the promised land is fucking delusional. What a fucking train wreck.

  20. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

If the Yorks think this season is bad, wait til they bring back the same cast of characters.

It’ll make this season look like a triumph.

There will be s lot more empty seats and that shiny new stadium will be a ghost town. When the sponsors start dropping off then it’ll get even more dire. They will be ridiculed endlessly and mercilessly. In his day and age of info saturation, you have to wonder how long they hang with it. Despite the new stadium yadda yadda yadda.

What good is owning a team if you are persona non grata in your home town? I know it probably won’t matter in the end, but it may.

    • Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Yeah…..remember when 8-8 looked bad? Now that looks respectable. Four wins should get someone fired and I don’t mean the head usher.
