Well, the travel weary Niners came back from their 2 game roadie, I should say the defense came back from their 2 game roadie. The offense is circling Turlock in a holding pattern. A pattern where no one gets open and no one catches shit. In a game that saw very solid pressure from the base D, the 49ers befuddled and harassed Aaron Rodgers well enough to win this game. Unfortunately, the offense is circling the drain amid more sniping from T Smith, and ineffective blocking. Teams are daring us to beat them through the air, and since we can’t block, we are struggling mightily to even get first downs, let alone touchdowns.
CK had another underwhelming day, and the blocking was it’s usual porous self, but VMcD had a big drop on what would have been an early 1st down, the refs got CK on a call that was ludicrous at best, we had the 1st Packer drive stopped but for a ticky-tack illegal hands, and a missed facemask call on BJ Raji.
Granted, those are little things that decent teams can overcome. But not us. As the game progressed, there was less and less time, more and more pressure, and dwindling confidence offensively as a whole. CK did hit T Smith on a nice deep pass, but that ended in a 4th and 5 play where an all-out blitz was met with the usual slow-developing pass play that had zero chance of working.
This offense is struggling with the same things that they were last year. Poor line play, and no help for the relentless pass rush CK faces all the time. I’m not even going to mention screens, because they won’t work against teams playing us so close to the line. How about a slant? A play that gets the ball out in under 3 seconds?
Either CK isn’t able to do this, or we just don’t have this shit in the playbook. I hate to belabor this point, but the Previous QB suffered the same fate. No quick hitters. No hot-read passes. No slants. I can’t profess to know, but I know Reid throws quick passes, and Young Sir Alex can make that throw. No reason to think CK can’t do the same.
But until the line play improves significantly (shuffle the line already) and the team comes up with a different strategy to slow down the relentless pressure, we will continue down this path.

When no longer is anyone held responsible it’s useless having a level headed conversation with them. As you all know most here will go 15 seasons, yes a players entire career making up things why the don’t have the talent to succeed. Yes the finger points in all kinds of different directions instead of the person solely responsible. If you bring up that it only took any of the great ones a few years to show their elite capabilities they’ll bring up one time a QB ended up being great after five years of average performances.
Some fans love winning and that’s what we all should be accustomed to and just throwing years down the drain knowing that in a few years we’ll have to start all over again many will ask why not do it now and be ahead of the game? Winners never stay complacent, there’s a sense of urgency to get to the pinnacle as quickly as possible. This lack luster approach to winning is something the 49er fan has grown accustomed to with Jed York.
Pete Carroll not only drafted Russell Wilson he also brought in Matt Flynn and paid him well as a reassurance. Flynn’s contract was $20.5 million, with $9 million guaranteed. It’s just another example of a winning plan in place instead of just threading water. It’s called a back up plan and we don’t have one.

This isn’t an area you can do much with as a coach. You can certainly bring a quarterback up to a competitive standard, but to reach greatness the quarterback must possess that inherently.
A quick delivery, one that is not telegraphed to help the defense, gives the quarterback an advantage when he finds his intended target. That’s when it is essential to get the ball “up and gone” with no wasted motion.
The single trait that separates great quarterbacks from good quarterbacks is the ability to make the great, spontaneous decision, especially at a crucial time.
People need to stop trying to make a mediocre QB like Kaepernick into an elite QB like Rodgers because it will never happen.

I also got to see Whitesnake the purple tour recently. David coverdale did mostly songs from his deep purple mk. 3 days. excellent concert and a rare chance to see these songs done live !

Yeah Glenn Hughes lives a block up the street from me. I see him jogging everyday, really cool down to earth guy he’s my friend on facebook. My friend gave me a live DVD of an early Purple with Coverdale. He asked me afterwards what did I think? I said it was good and I enjoyed it. Then he said watch this one it’s even earlier with Ian Gillan then he asked me again, what did you think? I told him are you kidding me? What were you thinking showing me the Coverdale DVD before the Ian Gillan show? Night and day Ian hit every note, there’s no comparison.

This is a team that always had good QBs and offense from Frankie Albert on. Always the Niners could score. The trouble usually was the D. Now at the present time we have this clunker of an offense. Pure shit in Santa Clara. The fans in Kezar would never tolerate this offense. A QB that can’t throw? It would not be tolerated and drinking to excess was expected in SF. It was a drinking town. Drunks are not always polite.
