Game Day – Cheese Doodle Time

Hmmm. This one is a real head-scratcher. The best offense goes against the leakiest pass defense? Aaron Rodgers gets to shred our ineffective pass rush and mysteriously non-existent defensive backs? Our suddenly crappy passing game tries to unbury itself from the dregs of the worst game in oh, the last 10 years? 20? And that’s saying something seeing as some the stiffs that have wandered through the team lo these past 10 have been terrible.

I think these guys will play a better game. And I think they can even win, given the fact that they aren’t as bad as that AZ game, and they ARE at home. Realistically though our D is swiss cheese, and the cheeseheads want to exact revenge. We’ve been the bearer of a lot of bad news to GB in recent memory, knocking them out of the playoffs a couple times, and smoking them in the regular season as well. All with CK as the QB to win those games. (another hmmm) So they want to hurt us.

No there no moral victories in football, but really now. If this team gets smoked in another disastrous-type game like the last two, there will be some major grumblings around 4949 Centennial Blvd. For all everyone’s talk about the goodness or badness of the team, another blowout will be hard to stomach. Yeah, the line is banged up and shakey. At some point though, you’d think the coaches would say move Boone back to RT, or get Shareece Wright at least somewhere near the field. They need to work on the line to get CK some time in the pocket. GB is 11th in pass defense, so maybe we can run to set up the pass. I don’t know. I see a better game, but not enough to win.

I’d be happy to see something close to organized football.
After watching a few good looking Drives in Pittsburgh fizzle in the Red Zone, it’s been a disaster since.
For all the angst surrounding Kaep in AZ, I’m putting more on the Coaching this week.
Time for a wrinkle or 2 that hasn’t been on the game films through the 1st 3 weeks.

TEs/RBs in the passing game perhaps?
    Reggie, VMcD, ANYBODY?

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

One way to slow Clay Matthews down is to force him into coverage.
If he’s his usual blitz-happy self, throw to his vacated area.

I’m more concerned with our ability to slow down Rodgers when we’re on D.

  2. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

What’s the word on this out West?
Heard rumblings but, this is the first I’ve seen regarding a named female and a Chipotle photo op.

The D has to show up. If they do then there will be a game. Hope springs eternal ……

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Well, the pick 6s weren’t on the defense but thats still 74 points in 2 games, but yeah, the D is my biggest concern. Especially going up against Aaron Rodgers.

  5. timtebo15's avatar timtebo15 says:

This protection of the real problem is the real problem. There you go Chuck, “Post of the Day” Yes Tomsula stinks and had no business being promoted and Jed either doesn’t care or he’s incompetent to run a football team either way we’re doomed. He’s a Line Coach nothing more you evaluate and make an educated hiring you don’t just promote within the losing ranks. Kaepernick is the right up there as a huge problem though some of you want to skate around this fact.

In the National Football League the quarterback is the only position player to be credited with a record of wins and losses as a starter period. Tom Brady holds the record for the highest winning percentage amongst the top 50 quarterbacks with the most wins in NFL. Yes Defense is very important but one position and one position only solely responsible for putting the football in the end zone is the Quarterback position, why I have to explain this is a mystery to all.

I think we can bury the notion that Kap is an elite QB. Cardinal’s safety Tony Jefferson said last week that’s why they wanted Kaepernick to throw because they thought it was his weakness. It seems everyone outside the 49er fan base gets it but the base it’s self. This taking years to figure out that a QB simply doesn’t have what it takes to be a great one is baffling. This may tickle Jed York’s feathers but it’s a waste of precious time to a concerned fan.

Now I’m off to church I’ll say a little prayer for everyone here.

What a pile of dog shit you are Vagina. Constantly slanting to suit your view point and facts be damned.

      Here’s a clue for you.

You are not smarter than other people. You are transparent. The problem for you is you are so dense and enamored with yourself this completely escapes you.

Hence you being shunned every blog you go on.

Take a minute or two to let that sink in.

      • timtebo15's avatar timtebo15 says:

12th Man, the problem you have is you don’t want to hear anything other than what you want to believe. See the difference between you and me is I don’t care what you say I respect your opinion as well as everyone who thinks like you do. I don’t get offended and I don’t believe in silencing people only because they have a different point of view.

Thank God that we’re all different remember a person whose house is only open on the west can’t see the sun rise at dawn, it’s only seen when the sun sets at dusk. If one tries to compare the color and appearance of the two, one will go on arguing forever…

The fault lies not with the vision but with the closed windows. If you look out of only one opening till the day you die, you’ll ever see anything new.

Peace be with you my friend.

  6. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I am still a believer in any given Sunday. The problems that I see is that we don’t have one cohesive unit on the team. It is real likely to get ugly today. I remember one year in the 60’s where we couldn’t win a game for anything, we lost to just about everyone except the fucking Colts who were tearing up the league. For some reason we could beat them. Any given Sunday.

  7. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

One thing I wanted to mention if I ever got a working computer again. The Falcons and Panthers could conceivably put up 12 to 16 wins this year. Their schedules are unbelievable. Let’s see: They get the AFC South and NFC East. The AFC South should be banned from the league even with a good Colts team, and so far they’re not. The NFC East can’t get out of its own way. In their own division, they’ve got the Saints, who suck, and the Bucs.

That’s insane. Carolina handicapped itself by winning the division last year; they get the Packers and Seahawks. Atlanta, by contrast, gets the Niners and Bears.

In addition, the Falcons already beat the Cowboys and Giants, two teams that may have beaten them. Their remaining schedule is a cakewalk. They may easily start the season 9-0 before they face a potentially quality opponent.

With a schedule like that, I wouldn’t have picked the Niners to go 5-11. But they play the Norths, huge difference. The Falcons and Panthers will likely both waltz into the playoffs, the winner having a bye week.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, we got no breaks from our schedule thats for sure.

Until we get Kilgore back, I fear the line will be shitty. Even with him back they will still have problems. But at this point all we can hope for is incremental progression. They have a couple winnable games after this so getting to 3-3 til we get a little healthier would be a good thing.

  9. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

The Bears are 8-11 on 3rd downs. They should be smoking the Raiders but for the fumbles.

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

      But… fumbles?
I’ve heard of those somewhere 😀

    • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

The Raiders are so fun to watch with Carr and Amari, it almost takes me back to the Plunkett days. Carr is a damned promising soph QB. Too bad they’re going to LA. They draft some D and they will be a contender.

My boy Taylor Mays is on them now. First a good Bengals team, now the Raiders in his 6th year, he’s been far from a bust. I don’t know what’s up with Aldon; he just doesn’t look like the impact player he was.

  10. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

If Niners lose today, I can see them maybe winning one more game (home v. Ravens) before the bye week 10. That would be a 2-7 horrendous start. Look at the schedule. There are no cupcakes, except maybe the team from Santa Clara. if it turns even close to that, I’d go for a 3-13 and a chance to pick Goff…

  11. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Frank does it again. Gore fumbled into the endzone for a touchback, costing the Colts 7 points and the lead. That’s twice this year, and the first one helped cost the Colts a win.

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Fricking Bears are going conservative. They are dominating this game in everything but the score.

One thing the Bear WRs do is push downfield before coming back for the stick route. It creates space.

I thought the Raiders just committed a stupid TO. Cutler’s pick was just worse.

    • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

The Raiders’ back has turned over the ball twice. Not a good day.

    • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Crabs is kickin’ butt, doing what he should have been doing all these years. As a #2, he can focus on first down possession catches, which is what he does best.

    • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Sea Bass does it again! Will a 1 pt. lead hold for the last two minutes? This could be a very nice winning team-type road win for the up and coming Raiders.

    • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Nope. Too bad, the D couldn’t hold. I don’t understand the cornerback coverage with time ticking away, giving Cutler the short sideline throws. Oh well.

  13. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Gould with the boot . . . Crazy game in Chi-town. Bears off the scheid . . .

    6 lead changes….

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Woo hoooo . . . . free-for-all kick return. That was almost awesome.

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

NY Giants stuff Buff. Didn’t see what happened.

    • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

The Bills got called for a zillion legit penalties at bad times. Taylor was off, and their offense followed his lead. They were just outplayed, didn’t look like the good team they were the first three weeks at all. Great game by the Giants D.

  16. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Raider fans can go back to being pessimistic for a week. Meanwhile, lets see if Niners can keep Rodgers under 5 TDs today. I like Aaron because he’s a great QB and from Cal, but he’s ticking me off with this dissing of Cal — he says now he’s from Butte College — because he’s still PO’d that Cal fired Tedford. That’s just weak…

  17. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Hard to believe Kappy is 3-0 against Rodgers. Bakkenbullit is going to have a field day with this one.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Skins are 2-2. Philly 1-3. Giants are 2-2. Dallas? 2-1 and injured.

    Strange division.

    Here goes nuthin’.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Jesus. That was 6.

  20. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Fuck. That’s such stupid shit. If that’s a penalty then every pass play has a penalty.

    Oh yeah.

  21. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    45 seconds to throw.

  22. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. BJ gets a facemask in front of the ref. Nothing. Another bad call on the false start. Looks like one of those days already.

  23. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

On that first drive, I’m thinking the Cal defense bussed over to Santa Clara to start the game…

  24. timtebo15's avatar timtebo15 says:

You would think that with all these stupid refs standing around that at least they can make correct calls. Horrible!

  25. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    I don;t think we’ll ever stop them.

  26. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Ah, let the flying of the yellow flags begin…

  27. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Armstead with nice hustle. For all this the D isn’t looking half bad. Got to get a fucking drive going.

    • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Considering that PI jump started the Packer drive, and the Niners were robbed of a 1st down on that procedure call, the Niners have opened the game really well.

  28. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Fuck. Is GB going to get every break? That punt shoulda gone OB at the 35. Instead it rolls 20 yards down the sideline.

  29. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

VMcD showing what sucks about him.

    Wow. 20 yard punt?

  30. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Somehow we need a turnover.

  31. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

It must be a requirement of Niner tight ends to have stone hands…

  32. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Damn. Got to get a TD at some point. Missed that one thank God.

This is fucking insane. He hit Hayne before the ball got there.

  33. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Stat noted on the Lurie show this morning — Romo with a stellar .170 batting against vs. RHBs batters this season, and something like 65Ks with just 2 walks. But, an amazingly opposite cratering .370 being hit against him by LHBs…

  34. Rob's avatar Rob says:

Come on guys get the upset

  35. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

I went from 8-8 to 9-7 because of Hayne.
Can I go back to predicting 8-8 now because of him?…

  36. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Nice TOP going for our Offense.
Can we give the D a blow?

  37. Rob's avatar Rob says:

    Nice run by hyde again

  38. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Seriously, this endless penalty calling, some on phantom penalties, is ruining this game…

  39. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Jed need to get a team bus like Jerruh.
Then, he needs to take Blandino to the titty bar a couple times.
These refs ain’t helping our cause thus far.

  40. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Niners, once in the Red Zone, are evidently allergic to scoring TDs…

  41. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

VD’s out and McDonald might as well be. Looks like we need a TE next year to go along with O linemen.

  42. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

    Red Zone = Dead Zone.
    So….
    What else is new?

  43. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Yeah the Dead Zone………Niners may as well be the walking dead there.

  44. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

I’ve got an idea about this endless penalty crap. If the penalty occurs, but it has nothing to do with the outcome of the play (like on the other side of the field from the ball, and it’s not a roughing or personal foul), then you just pick up the flag, and the ref warns the player and takes down the number/name of the player — like soccer. If the same player commits a second foul later, only then does it count. In other words, every player gets a free first penalty if it has no bearing on the play…

  45. Rob's avatar Rob says:

    Team defense f u lacey

  48. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

    GB blows that one.

  49. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

  50. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Well the D showed up for the first half.

  51. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Shit. Just need to get in the end zone. Had some nice plays.

  52. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Niner offense has been crap, as usual. Dominated in TOP by 5 minutes. Bad special teams play. Amazing the Niners are in this game…

We still have hyde and a good 0
      Lets go niners upset

  70. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

There are H.S. punters who can kick it farther than 20 and 29 yards. Heck, we had a guy in grade school who kicked twice as far as anybody else; I bet he could’ve done it and not only would he have come cheap he wouldn’t have cost a draft choice.

  71. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Niner offense is inept. Barely has a pulse, against a decent, not great, defense.
