Tough Time for Bay Area Sports

The Giants are staggering out of the gate with little hitting, poor defense, and terrible pitching, the Warriors can’t tank their way out of the playoffs even without Steph, and the 49ers can’t seem to figure out how to build their O line. At least the Sharks have a bona fine star in Macklin Celebrini, son of Warriors team doctor Wayne Celebrini. But they ain’t playoff bound either.

So that leaves what? The draft? Everyone who cares about the team is praying they do more than use late picks to bolster their O line. One that has seem the ‘addition’ of a couple backup LGs and their dicking around with Trent. What they will do is another story entirely. I do like their last couple drafts. Minus the Pearsall pick. Great kid. Terrible story around getting shot. But he needs to stay on the field. He’s awesome when playing but not when he’s not. Which is a lot.

If they score a DE in the 1st, they’d better nail it. I have all the faith in the world around our revamped defense under Raheem Morris, and the fact a lot of our young guys got serious playing time with all the injuries. But again, it is ALL about the O line. Our losses last year came at the hands of teams with a strong pass rush.

Hoping against hope they can build an O line that gives Purdy time, and of course they find a way to rest CMC. Stop me if I haven’t said this shit before.

Yeah, it does suck when the Giants don’t look so good this time of year. I still have hope for em though. And as far as FA goes it doesn’t look like we are gonna do much more. No clue on draft but really looking forward to it.

Unc, went out before the game was over (run errands) . . . Anyway, I saw your comment about the Giants running the team “. . . like a tax dodge.” Spot on brother. Johnson, could give 2 shits about winning, insofar as spending money to improve the team. The “crown jewel” so to speak is the park, parking lots, and other realty being used for various businesses that surround the park. All of it is a cash cow. Team itself is an annual write off.

I bet anything that Buster throws in the towel before the beginning of next season, should Johnson fail to spend money again.

Yeah, it’s sad that all these guys that run the team are interested in is the land they’ve sold off or rented around the park. Visa moved their headquarters to Parking Lot A. The McCovey baseball field is gone. And they’ve made buttloads of money in that whole area. Good for them but Greggie’s stated goal when he took over as CEO was to ‘break even’. Nothing has changed with all the GM/manager swapouts. Tell ya one thing, I kinda wish I still worked for Visa. I was there from 1990 to 2000.

Well at least Steph is finally back and playing, before play in.

Meanwhile Paul Skenes is no hitting Padres through 5. Given up 1 BB 1 HBP 6 Ks 67 pitches.
