The First Annual Wild Card Weekend Prognistication Party

Or some shit like that. Gimme your guesses, and the winner gets a dream date, with kneepads, with Paul Williams. And a baby’s arm holding an apple. 2nd place is a weekend at Dennis’s. 3rd place is a week there.

I know there aren’t too many different options here, but hey, this looks like a great set of games for once. And, I tell ya one thing, it sure is a hell of a lot more fun having the Niners actually involved in the playoffs than watching them for strictly betting purposes. With a bye no less . . .

If you want to read my detailed breakdown of how I think the playoffs go (sure you do), just click the previous thread. I’ve gotten 3 predictions so far. Here’s the schedule of games:

Saturday, Jan. 7th
6.Bengals (9-7) vs. 3.Texans (10-6), 1:30 pm NBC
6.Lions (10-6) vs. 3.Saints (13-3), 5:00 pm NBC
Sunday, Jan. 8th
5.Falcons (10-6) vs. 4.Giants (9-7), 10:00 am FOX
5.Steelers (12-4) vs. 4.Broncos (8-8), 1:30 pm CBS

All times are Pacific Standard times. I have no idea when these games start in the Philippines.

Hey, I don’t know if I’ve told this story before…if I did, STFU and hear it again. I had the pleasure of “meeting” Henry Kissinger. Well, it wasn’t so much that I met him, but I stood next to him in the Fairmont Hotel in their bathroom at the urinal.

And, NO! I didn’t shake his hand. Before or after washing.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

I was having dinner with Mom and an old girlfriend in the Tonga Room. Not the dead one.
I don’t what “Hank” was up to.

      • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

I shouldn’t have called Kelly an “old” girlfriend. She was my FIRST real girlfriend.
I’m sorry to say, but I still miss her. If ya don’t believe me, just ask my therapist.

Translation: Denny had his foot in Henry’s bathroom stall…

  3. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Did any of you bet the UNDER in this Giants game?

Not I, said Frank the Cat.

4th and inches and the Falcons give NO Whitey a sneak up the middle? For the second unsuccessful time?

First time shame on you. Second time shame on me. That’s Gomer Pyle shame right there…”Shame, shame, shame!”

    Mooks.

  4. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

If they go on to lose that’s two coach’s losses for dunderhead this year.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Agreed. Those two coach’s decision by Mike Smith are hangable calls. So much so that I’d make Smith make his own noose.

    • twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

“Let’s fool ’em – we’ll leave one of the best short yardage backs in football on the bench and run the QB out of an empty backfield !”

  5. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

It just dawned on me…Smith was the one who went for it on 4th and 1 or so on his own 29? in OT vs the Saints. They shoulda crucified his ass then and there…

  6. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Speaking of OT, I hope you guys are hip to the new rules should they come into place. If you ask me, it’s all a bunch of hooey.

  7. Flavor's avatar Flavor says:

Watching the end of the Giants game, I suppose it’s entirely possible that we see a NO/giants NFC championship game…..
I can’t believe I’m doing this, but I just called in a bet to my buddy in Reno. I am betting on the Bronco’s + points. I just don’t see Pitt scoring much vs that D without their RB and a gimpy big Ben.

  8. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

There are much better reasons to root agaist T-Blow other than his total suckitude as a QB. He and the Blowwites have declared anyone who doesn’t buy into their shameless God-mongering to be a “hater”, when he and his cult are the real haters. Fans of team and every faith should spurn this charlatan…

  9. Flavor's avatar Flavor says:

I have some friends who live in Denver– huge bronco fans and not religious at all. They texted me today and said they’re openly rooting for the Bronco’s to get killed today so they don’t have to watch Tebow play another game for them.

  10. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

There’s a lot of speculation that if Tebow sucks again that we might see Quinn, who to my knowledge has not taken a snap in two years. For the first time this year Fox didn’t deny the possibility..

  11. Flavor's avatar Flavor says:

I canceled the bet– just found out the line is down to 5.5. At 7.5–8.5 (which is where it was a couple days ago) I would bet Denver but not at 5.5

  12. Flavor's avatar Flavor says:

I actually think Tebow might play ok today. Get back to running the ball, he can’t throw for shit.
Bringing quinn in would give them zero chance

  13. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Bring in Brady Quinn? That’s asking for the Wrath of God.
Tebow and his best buddy will have none of that.

  14. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

I posted yestaerday that this game troubles me- Rothliswhatever played horribly against us when he played hurt and their top RB is out… But I disagree about Quinn, any QB in football is an an improvement over TBlow if gets to where Denver has to pass..

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

I don’t think it’s going to happen, but if Jesus Christ II wins today…look out!

      • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Seriously, I hate to look ahead. but. But. BUT. B U T if Tebow and Jesus win today? I’d go to bed early if I were you.

    • Flavor's avatar Flavor says:

I could see either defense scoring more than either offense today

      • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Flav, that’s a bold yet realistic prediction.

I think it’s gonna be a low scoring affair myself.
        But WTF do I know?

  15. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Query? If you were take a poll (and I’m sure someone did. I’m too lazy to look it up) What % of this GREAT country of ours is rooting for Tebow? I know he has his followers and detractors…but I still think Tebow is on the + side in the view of most Americans.

I’d venture to guess that 75% of America is rooting for Tim Tebow.

    Count me in! Go Jesus!

    • Flavor's avatar Flavor says:

You’re probably correct. But most of them aren’t football fans. They’re rooting for religion. They’d probably root for Sandusky to beat the rap if he said all the right religious things…

      • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

You called it, BF Tebow brings in the NON football, or casual fans.
If you did a poll of just only hardcore fans, he very well might be on the – end.

  16. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Shit. Ben is playing on one leg. Give credit were credit is due…
    he’s one tough sumbitch’…

  17. Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

Goddamn. That ball flies in that Mile High air. I’m already on record saying that the dumb Polack from the Raiders will make one from 75 yds. Archie Bunker told me so…

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    I’d say 60% against.

Atl’s coach is a moron. That’s the same play he tried in OT in the Siants game. Both teams hosed up the end of the 1st half.

  19. twinfan1's avatar twinfan1 says:

His popularity still surpasses the negative. As with any charlatan, that will change. Thing is- even his God is not enamored with his kind.

    • Del Mar Dennis's avatar Del Mar Dennis says:

You’re calling Tebow a charlatan? For shame. Not only are you doubting, but you’re usurping another man’s belief. Reminds me of when Hitler invaded Poland in 1939.

Archie Bunker woulda done the same thing — no more Meatheads!

  20. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Tebow’s on FIRE.
