Maybe ‘shootout’ wasn’t the best choice of words for the last thread but our 1st round pick Ricky Pearsall has returned to practice. Granted, with the signing of BA and the emergence of Jauan Jennings, it’s gonna be a real crowded WR room these days. He’s gonna need a couple weeks, but still, with these trades starting to ramp up, it might make sense to offload someone. I’d hate to lose either BA or Deebo, so that leaves Jennings to get an offensive lineman or safety from Pittsburgh. The teams has made some bold moves before in getting CMC and Chase Young in recent years.
I don’t know. I’m really confused about this team and its direction. They are 2-3 plays from being 5-1. But also a couple more plays from being 2-4. The defense seems hell-bent on bending and breaking. Special teams are a disaster. We’ve lost 2 kickers in 5 days because they are the last line of defense on kickoff returns.
At least last week the defense played with some passion. And the rookies Green and Mustapha stepped up. But still, the 3rd down conversion against is atrocious. We gave up a kickoff return for a TD. Wishnowski’s punts aren’t very deep or effective. And FGs are gonna be an adventure with being forced to find our third kicker in a week.
Irregardless of the offense and their struggles to reach the end zone. Gone are the imaginative plays and different schemes to get the ball in the end zone. Yeah, not having CMC makes it harder, but we were scoring before we had him. This team surte looks like it thinks it can run a basic offense and defense and our opponents are supposed to fall over and succumb.
This team really needs to find its mojo and get on a roll. How they do that remains to be seen.
I’ll say this, the game against KC means MUCH more to us than it does them. They are 5-0 riding their Super Bowl high. We are in a dogfight to gain relevancy. They are playing a non-conference game on the road. We are trying to stay atop our struggling division. KC has skated through a few sketchy wins, just as we have gagged up a couple tough losses.
Any given Sunday and all that. We will see.
From Niner Nation
The whole notion of halftime adjustments are overrated because there only are 13 minutes at halftime and teams should be making tweaks between every series. But the facts are the facts.
San Francisco outscored the opposition 96-43 in the first half of their first six games of the season. After intermission, the 49ers were outscored 77-66.
Defensive end Nick Bosa alluded to this a week ago when he spoke about the 49ers’ defensive staff having San Francisco well-prepared to open games. He said they could do better at making adjustments to unscouted looks.
But it’s not only first-year defensive coordinator Nick Sorensen who is having his problems. The offense has experienced its issues, too.”
Whatever is going on, they have to figure it out now. It’s not like being outscored in the 2nd half hasn’t been a problem for a while. The red zone issues are a new thing that also needs to be fixed as soon as possible. Kyle had gone from running into a brick wall on the goal line to throwing early and often.
The wasting of downs is my issue.
They don’t spread the field with 5 WRs and run into that. Or bunch the formation and run jet sweeps. They telegraph their runs on the goal line by loading up the line and running into 10 in the box. They telegraph pass plays on the goal line by going shotgun. DUMB. I see teams do this all the time and it works about 20% of the time.
Mix shit up! They used Juice behind Purdy on 3rd and short, and did the push and that WORKED TWICE. So, naturally on the goal line they didn’t do that.
Everything they do now is so vanilla. Shanahan is falling onto the Mike Singletary philosophy of telling teams “here’s what we are going to do. Stop it”
Well, they are.
You’ve got to be kidding BA…
https://www.sfgate.com/49ers/article/49ers-brandon-aiyuk-called-out-youtube-video-19838885.php
Tone deaf. He admitted he held in longer than necessary too. If he wants the spotlight so bad he should get it from what he does on the field not his dumb diva act.
He’s gonna goof himself right off the team. Dudes a baller but come on, man.
He has to know that this kind of shit makes him look like an out-of-touch douche nozzle.
“I got my bag, now I;m gonna buy shit and suck at football!”
As stated in the article Fred and Deo have more TDs than BA.
I would love to see Ricky show up big and make BA expendable.
This shit about a 3 day weekend after sitting on the sidelines throughout TC and getting nothing accomplished on the field is Keyshawn Johnson – esque on it’s face.
WTF is it with WR’s he will probably do another TO sooner or later. Since I will never see that kind of money I will never know but dude show some class. You are not better than you were before just richer.
Yeah, BA is at the point where he either leans toward being a fucktard twit or gets his shit straight. The social media stuff is juvenile and petty, but he needs to put down some shit on the field and stop acting the fool.
The holdout really was pointless as they argued over stupid minutia for 2 months.
Good news is Mooney Ward was a full participant in practice.
Mason and Mustapha were limited. Let’s hope they can play the whole game.
Interestingly, Jennings did not practice, but Pearsall was a full participant.

Kyle will be on KNBR at 3:30 if anyone wants to listen
Just got invited to the game. Club level. Oh boy.
Hope they can somehow pull this one out. It would be a pretty big win.
Kyle better come up with wrinkles within wrinkles to get all three phases firing better. because there are issues with all the phases. Said the same thing on 95.7 The Game. Said that all phases need to improve if they even want to think about winning.
As much as KC has been struggling, they are playing well enough to win all their games.
Call mi anxious and impressed.

It’s good PR anyway. He might be a good diversion this week but still wonder how he takes a hit.
You are going to love Kyle’s response Chuck

Man. I don’t know. Spagnuolo really has our number late in games.
The thing they do MUCH better than us is the late game changes. For whatever reason, Shanahan doesn’t adapt to changing conditions. Or he overthinks it. It isn’t just KC. Shanahan has lost a lot of leads late in games and it goes all the way back to the Falcons utter choke job in the Super Bowl against the Pats.
Kick the FG, win the game. I saw a piece that Belichick did on the Super Bowl and 2 missed blocks on 2 plays killed our shot late in the 4th while driving for a game-sealing TD, and a key 3rd down on the goal line in OT. While KC converted their 4th and 1.
Game over.
What’s that definition of insanity again?
lol
https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jauan-jennings-wont-play-sunday-ricky-pearsall-will-be-activated
We activated the kicker that missed a 41 yard FG against us in the playoffs last year. Don’t know his touchback rate.
Woo hoo.
This should be interesting, non holding calls
https://apple.news/AuxWE0aGBQUK1DVmQF8tSPQ
The refs from last year were going to do this game. But now they have been moved to the Seattle game. It sounds like Kyle raised hell about last years non holding calls, especially non calls in favor of Bosa
I meant the refs from last years SB
Well, that can only help.
New thread is up.
