Snap Back to Reality . . .

Well, that was fun. For what it was. Is Jax overrated? Were we due? Whatever it was, the 49ers looked like the team that stormed out to a 5-0 record, not the team that tripped over their dicks and went 0-3. Instead of making Trevor Lawrence look like the second coming of Joe Burrow, he looked more like Nick Mullens.

The much-maligned defense started the game off in fine fashion, ending 3 of the first 4 Jax drives with sacks. 4 forced turnovers by the defense also kept the Jags off the scoreboard. Brocky Purdy was again masterful as he went 19-26 for 296 and 3 TD passes. he got everyone involved, and funny thing is, we did to Jax what teams have been doing to us during the losing streak, and dumping the ball off on screens and short passes to CMC.

The first TD to Aiyuk was a scary affair, but the one thing Purdy did do was get the ball to the only place Aiyuk could catch it. Unferthrow it, and it’s an easy pick, but he got it high enough to give AB the opportunity to grab it. The TD to Kittle came on a pump fake that was pretty crazy as Purdy was surrounded and not in a clen pocket. Both those passes looked scary but the worked to perfection. Even Juice got into the act as he scored on a 22 yard strike late.

The quibbles were too many penalties, and the game should have been decided earlier as we wasted the turnovers forced early. The play Ambry Thomas made was insane as he stripped the ball from Christian Kirk, recovered it, and picked it up and returned it 93 yards for the TD. Unfortunately, half the defense was on the field celebrating as Thomas we running down the field, so they called it back. But the Niners simply marched down the field for a 7 play 81 yard drive capped off by a 23 yard run by Deebo to put the game out of reach.

All in all a solid effort. One they need to build on.

Yesterday’s game was a breath of fresh air to me. Getting players back was the key. Injuries will kill any team. Real happy for the organization.

Great pull Winder! Quicksilver Messenger Service was one of my favorite early bands.
That was at my alltime rockin venue Winterland such a great place to see concerts as Bill Graham brought in all the best bands!

Yeah the 49ers gave us all a bit of “Fresh Air” with a much needed dominating performance on both sides of the ball! Stoked to have Young he contributed right away as that DL is back to gold rush standards hopefully again!

You want drama…The NFL set a record yesterday with 5 game winning FG’s as the clock expired ,wow that’s awesome 👏

Haven’t heard that in a long time. That was a bit of fresh air!

Did you watch Justified, Winder? Great stuff set in Harlan County KY.

Yeah, there were a lot of crazy games yesterday. The only thing still going on is the flag overload. The Raiders game was full of unnecessary flags.

When the hell did Buffalo stop giving a shit? They look completely inept and stupid. Fumbles, picks, missed tackles. They look absolutely lost.

What’s crazy is the Bills AND the Bengals are out of the playoffs at this point in the season.

Fucking Buffalo has 12 men on the field as Denver misses the game winning FG!

Jesus, what a disaster for the Bills. 4 turnovers, again, at home.

Heard some commentary regarding the JAX D playing Big Nickel against us to stop the run and how Purdy exploited it with LBs in coverage.
Kid sees the game inside the game.

I wouldn’t mind seeing that at a Brews and Blues!

        Awesome stuff Berger.
Bruce brought Clarence and the sax, Ian brought the flute to Tull..
Never saw a violin penetrating the rock/blues venue beyond Charlie Daniels but man, is it good.

Bonamassa and Beth Hart are getting my attention these days,
        Excellent stuff.

Trying to score a visit to see Albert Cummings too.
He’s a New England guy and shows up in some tight venues in RI where a good friend resides.
He’s on the Blues radar 😀

All the News about the D talks about how they came out to play, but I still think the 5 man front was huge for the D

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Tell ya one thing, the defense in the Cincy game looked straight vanilla to me. It was awful seeing the same 4-man front do little to nothing against fucking Burrow, while the LBs simply left the flat open for dump-offs all day. Same in the Minnesota game.

I guess Greenlaw’s injured shoulder kept him from being himself, but that’s no excuse for the entire defense being in chase mode.

    New thread is up.
