Draft Day is Here!

Be still my beating heart.  So, the weekend draftapalooza begins at 5:00 pm sharp PT. Which means I’ll be stuck on a Bart train underneath the icy waters of San Francisco Bay. The pisser is, for that stretch of the route, internet coverage is gone, so I’ll prolly miss a few. Actually, I might be in a bar, but I digress.

  • The bad news? They streeeeeetch this shit out for THREE fricking days
  • The good news? It’s FINALLY here.
  • The better news? On Sunday, Mel Kiper Jr. will soon be re-entombed in has hard shell of hair gel and buried under the ESPN parking lot in Bristol, Connecticut.

For those that need the entire rundown of dates, times, and rounds, Here ya go:

Live coverage of the 2018 NFL Draft starts at 8 p.m. ET on April 26 for Round 1. The draft resumes at 7 p.m. on April 27 for Rounds 2-3, and then again at noon on April 28.

This year’s draft will be covered by two broadcast networks (Fox and ABC) and four cable outlets (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, NFL Network). For the first time, all seven rounds of the three-day event will air live on broadcast TV.

  • Round 1 on April 26 (8 p.m. ET): NFL Network, Fox, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. Troy Aikman, Fox’s lead NFL analyst, will join NFL Network’s Rich Eisen and Mike Mayock at the analyst desk.
  • Rounds 2 and 3 on April 27 (7 p.m. ET): NFL Network, Fox, ESPN and ESPN2. Joel Klatt, Fox’s lead college football analyst, and Charles Davis will join NFL Network’s Peter Schrager and Chris Rose on the coverage.
  • Rounds 4-7 on April 28 (noon ET): ESPN, ABC, NFL Network. This is the first time ABC will simulcast ESPN’s coverage. Fans also can also stream the action through NFLFox Sports and ESPN apps.

Still think Tremaine Edmunds is the guy. After that, I got nothing.

i’m fine with this pick. Not exciting but a need. I’m a little surprised they didn’t trade with AZ, they could have still gotten him I think. Whatever, gotta protect the QB

  2. bigflavor's avatar Flavor says:

    no idea….

  3. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Absolutely a need as long as he’s a talent worthy of a #9 pick. I didn’t read anything prior to the draft linking him to the Niners.

  4. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

The Bucs are going to have a hell of a defensive line with McCoy and Vea in the mix.

  5. Rob's avatar Rob says:

    Staley, McGlinchey, Richburg Garnett, Brown

    • Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

I thought McGlinchey was a tackle. Seems kind of light for a guard.

      • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

He is a tackle LJ.. A Left Tackle
        Big boy at 6’8 308lbs
McGlinchey some say would be a better fit at RT which is Trent Brown’s position so that will be interesting in trading camp, theirs talk about Brown’s work ethics being under par and he will be in a contract year coming up I believe? So he better step it upGood pick I’m warming up to it Jimmy G needs to be protected better this pick will help..

      • Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

He played both LT and RT at ND, just not guard. I was just commenting on Rob’s post, which looks to have McGlinchey at one of the guard spots.

  6. Lurker John's avatar Lurker John says:

Some of those Brown’s fans didn’t look too happy when Mayfield’s name was announced.

    • bigflavor's avatar Flavor says:

all they do is make bad decisions so you have to think, just based on their track record, that Mayfield isn’t going to pan out. At least not as a super star. How many QBs his height turn into super stars? Total reach with the first pick in the draft.

  7. Rob's avatar Rob says:

    Da’ron Payne to washington

  8. bigflavor's avatar Flavor says:

Trent Brown hasn’t been offered a contract yet by the NIners so you have to think the writing is now on the wall for that dude.

  9. Winder's avatar Winder says:

We have needs all over the place but I guess rebuilding our OL is a good start. They must really like this kid to have spent the #9 on him

  10. Winder's avatar Winder says:

Anyway, my record of not getting it right still stands. So it probably is a good pick.

  11. Rob's avatar Rob says:

    Edmonds to the Bills

  12. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

One of the draft “experts” on NFL channel predicted the Niners would pick McGlinchey but for the life of me I can’t remember the mock draft expert.

  13. Berger's avatar Berger says:

I really like the McGlinchey pick!!! He was on my list last night. I thought we would trade back with AZ but when I saw what the Raiders got I knew why we did not trade with them.

  14. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

I’m wondering now if the Bears got back at us from last year.By taking Rogan Smith who the 49ers liked too along with the Raiders who traded out of their spot after he was gone..
I like are pick and obviously Edmunds wasn’t the fit the 49er wanted so be it and hop on the OT Train 🚂

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

All I know is ai heard this morning that the Raiders were very high on McGlinchey and he would have been drafted by them. No way he would have been there in a trade. This was made more apparent with the Raiders taking a tackle anyway at 15.

    Edmunds fell to 16. Huh.

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I just wonder if AZ came to us or a trade, but seeing as we are in the same division I’m sure they were leery of it.

  17. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I’m glad we didn’t get Roquan. He’s not going to work out.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Flav, Scotty McCloughan is on the Browns now. He’s been nothing but money for the most part. My eye test on Mayfield is busteroonie, but Ward is a solid pick. A little surprised he went so high but he’s a player. I liked him for us.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

4 QBs in the top 10 and they all are risks. I told ya these teams were desperate.

Hey, I; m late to the party. I’ll just keep firing of posts . . .
