My only thought is that John Lynch is trying to drive up the asking price for the Rams and Seahawks. I like Lynch being aggressive, but this one isn’t a good thing. I’d rather draft a guy than go after Ol’ Dirty Beckham.

I’m so glad we don’t need a QB in this year’s draft. I don’t think any of them are as good as Trubisky or Watson from last year. Trubisky was so much better and polished looking than any of these guys it is ridiculous. Watson was as good of a big game QB as we have seen in a long time.
We were so lucky to get Groppo I can’t believe it. He is better than even Trubisky or Watson. The football Gods gave us a break!

I’m so all over the board for our first pick. I think as long as it isn’t a WR or a QB I’ll be good with the pick. My preference is to trade back 3 to 5 picks. I’m thinking Will Hernandez but there will still be much to choose from at that spot. That pass rusher from UTSA looks good.
Moving back seems to make the most sense to me also. Working in a lower rd 2 spot would be really helpful. Since we are in the middle of core building getting the most low rd picks is the way to go. That is of course unless the FO is totally in love with someone at 9.

The real (maybe) intrigue will involve the NYG at 2 –
If they stick, I see Nelson or Barkley going there (if they opt to pass on the QB)
Kinda hoping they DO pass on the QB so the interest levels rise for Teams seeking one.
If NYG leave Barkley, Cleveland might be in line to grab him at 4. Otherwise, they steal another position like Chubb.
We’re expecting NYJ to go QB at 3, Denver then has to decide on a QB (or possibly Chubb).
I think our biggest obstacle comes at 6 with Indy.
IMO, they’re the most likely to deal down for extra Picks.
Especially if Nelson and Chubb are gone.
I’m not expecting to see Nelson or Chubb at 9 no matter what happens.
Holding out hope that Minkah lands in our lap, if he gets past TB and Chicago.
If he’s off the Board, I’m hoping there’s a QB someone covets enough to offer us a deal.
Not sold on CB DWard that high personally. There’s so much depth in this DB Class that I think there’s serviceable options beyond RD1.
Either way, we’ll get someone worthwhile at 9 if we stand pat.
Edmunds/Davenport are young and will need time but, I think they stand the best chance to start in rotational situations given the Vets we have in place.
Fat Man in the Middle (Vea) is always a solid building block too. He, or Da’Ron Payne wouldn’t kill me.
If Mayfield survives until 9, I’m seeing reports that Bill has interest.
Not so sure I’d want to fall back to 23 however.
Be nice if Miami had interest in Mayfield and, would cough up 11 & 42 to get him.

Future 1 = 1000 Future 2 = 420 Future 3 = 190 Future 4 = 70
Current Picks –
9ers 9 = 1350 / 59 = 310 = 1660
Miami 11 = 1250 / 42 = 480 = 1730 (we get 11&42 – Give back a Future 4 = Dead on DEAL)
Buffalo 12 = 1200 / 56 = 340 / 96 = 116 = 1656 (we get 12,56 & 96 – Close enough)
Pats 23 = 760 / 31 = 600 = 1360 (we get 23&31 straight up for Pick 9 – While keeping 59)
Gotta hope NYG, Cleveland, or Indy, doesn’t sell out of Slots 2,4 or 6 for these scenarios to work –
We need the QBs to slide past Denver.
Hoping Barkley/Nelson & Chubb eat those slots.
Need NYJ to go QB too.
Indy shouldn’t be seeking a QB – Which gives them first shot at dealing with someone who does.
So many variables of course….No way to know until it happens.
If QBs go 1,2,3,5 it gets dicey, unless Mayfield remains until 9 and, his services are in demand.
Cleveland goes QB, at either 1 or 4, if they’re fearful of losing out on Barkley to NYG.

This really should be one of the more interesting drafts. It really could be a feeding frenzy for QB’s. It wouldn’t surprise me to see all 5 of em gone by 9. No matter what scenario plays out we should be in a position to trade back with someone or pick a top rated player.

One of the so-called “experts” feels that the USC QB is the best QB in the draft. To me all of them have risks of being a productive QB at the NFL level. What are your thoughts?
I honestly don’t know. What I do know is that many USC and UCLA QB’s flop in the NFL. If I was to pick one I would go Allen 1st or Mayfield if Allen was gone.
GIants need a QB above all else.
What i think happens is the browns go Barkley at 1 and Josh Allen at 4. Thats is their best bet.
That is possible. It depends on how bad they want Allen. I don’t think he will make it to 4.
One of the 3 QBs will make it to 4 if they take Barlkley first. It’s a no-brainer.
Mayfield smacks of Manziel. I didn’t see enough of him though.
That’s the rub with Mayfield Chuck. He’s extremely straight forward, undersized as well.
One thing no one disputes is his passion to win.
I’ve read that McCloughan is all in on him too, which puts the thought in my head, that Cleveland could wait until 4 to get him.
Putting them in the position to secure Barkley at 1 rather than run the risk of losing him to the NYG.
Gonna be fun to see what unfolds but, I’m not completely sold on the NYG taking the QB at 2.
I’m willing to bet they’d have interest in Barkley, however, if gone, Nelson, (possibly Chubb) would be my next guesses. Chubb became an option with the recently completed deal to send JPP to TB.
Berger I’m high on Hernandez as well. He’s not Pick 9-worthy IMO and, could be gone if we slide back too far in RD1.
