Word from Ian Rapoport is that the Carolina Panthers are looking to franchise their kicker (!) Graham Gano and let their premier guard Andrew Norwell hit the free agent market. Norwell of course is an all-pro and rated as one of the top 4 guards in the league. The coin would likely be $12.5 mill a year as the last 2 guards who got their coin got $11.5 mill (Raiders guard Gabe Jackson), and $12 mill (Kevin Zeitler, Browns).

The reason being money of course. If they franchise George Norwell. then the Carols have to pay him upwards of $14 mill for that one year. Thing is though, it’s pretty short-sighted to let the guy walk when he’s a top guy, and the Cowboys are set to hand the keys to the bank to guard Zach Martin since his rookie deal is done. He stands to make $14 mill, if not more, himself, so the market for guards is high. And it even gets higher with Quentin Nelson looking to come off the draft board in the top 5.

So, if Animal Farm is really coming out, we’d better be ready with our own bank truck.

    Hey Rob!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll pass on JLandry only because I don’t want to cough up any Picks.
Tannenbaum (as usual) has boxed himself in with an early F-Tag.
Landry is known to be a malcontent and, is someone they really don’t want on the roster anymore.
I’d be very surprised to see anyone give up Picks to obtain a guy Miami can’t afford to pay anyway.

Tannenbaum has to biggest idiot to carry a GM title in the NFL.
He single-handedly torched the NYJ Cap situation with guaranteed Contracts and, with this F-Tag move on Landry, has tied his own hands once again.
Granted, there might be a suitor out there with Picks to burn but, I’d pass.
Wait’m out and see if he gets released in July before the Cap charges apply.

If they truly intend to pay him, they’re going to have to clear a TON of Cap space within the current roster.
Tannenbaum is a flaming idiot. He and Steven Ross deserve one another.
The real question becomes whether Gase has any real input down there.

Gase went from one shit sandwich to another in Chi town to Miami. And he dodged us. Funny how that shit works out. Rather be us than a lot of other teams.
