All-Time Post of Forever (#1)
NJ49er
says:
September 7, 2011 at 7:40 pm (Edit)
I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

Looks like Lynch is giving his respect to the fans. A total class act.
Nice pic. Having fun is important too. Bravo!
Is that Bucs legend John Lynch I see there ! I haven’t seen a better safety since the great Ronnie Lott ! Good to have him here !
Somebody predicted niners by 10 this weekend . Anybody see know who that was ?
Rams apparently are not playing their starters. Saving them for the playoffs.
Who can blame them?
Never mind Lynch, check out that ride! That’s a throw back to the heydays too. Although Chuck has a point about the steering? Rear wheel maybe?
That is too cool. Lynch connecting with the fans in the parking lot, KS getting it right on the field. These dudes are doing it the right way. Go 49ers!
Like I said in the last Thread, going back to being the Niner Family! The Eddie D way!
Something else I forgot to mention about the Titan game. A 49er official came by before the game when we were sitting in our seats and introduced himself, shook my hand and thanked us for coming out and chatted for a few mins asking where I had come from today, how long had I been a Niners fan etc. He went on to the next folks in my section, home and opposing fans, just welcoming people to the stadium and the game.
I’ve never experienced that before at Levi or the Stick, a personal touch from the Levi Stadium staff. Now taking it as a whole with the weekly giveaways and seeing Lynch and Guido go into the tailgate areas personally taking to fans it is feeling like they are trying to change the way the organization interacts with the fans, re-building that bond that they had seriously neglected since Eddie left.
The more I think about how Jed has stepped aside and let a publicity pro like Lynch take over as the face of the franchise, the better the stadium experiencing is getting. I even got a reply to my complaint about how long it took to get into the stadium at the Cowboy game and I’m guessing they got a lot of complaints because since then getting in has been a breeze, even the concessions are moving faster with more staff.
This thing is going in the right direction in a lot of ways, some small and some big.
12th- Thanks for sharing that. Since I am a fan from a distance i don’t get the chance to see things like that. I had season tix at the stick for quite a few years and nobody from the organization ever came and talked to me. I figured it would take at least 3 years to dig ourselves out of the crap that Baalky and Jed put us in but this season has been a dream come true. I have a feeling we are gonna draw some of the best FA on the market.
I’m certain the Niners have become a destination for the top FA Winder, Jimmy G has made it somewhere to be on the field and Lynch and Shanny have done a remarkable job in laying the foundation and scheme to succeed. 0-9 was no picnic and we all ate a lot of shit from other teams fans, doubts crept in about the turnaround time we were facing, but the last month has completely reversed all that.
I’m absolutely stoked to see what next year brings. In the immortal words of Jim Mora, “playoffs, playoffs?”. Yeah, maybe so.
One more nugget. Interesting how Spitty disappeared when the wins came. What a sad sack of a human being that twat is. Gorges on the misery of others and indulges in self adulation even though its illusory.
It doesn’t hurt to be approachable. That’s sales basics. It doesn’t hurt to interact with the customers and long time fans. Build the brand!
You’re right Nipper of course, but since the Yorks have owned the team they have sorta done the opposite and taken the fans and our money for granted. Even in the Harbaugh years I never saw much in the way of appreciation of the fans, very few giveaways etc. I hadn’t really thought about it until Kevin mentioned the Niners family and that is where its going again.
That’s a nice trend.
Nice stories 12th! New York (Jed) took over as a 27 year old. He’s made plenty of mistakes as I figured he would. I think he even screwed up the stadium design. He’s been coached by Eddie and I think he gets it. I always figured he would do us right in time. It looks good right now. We’ll see how it goes moving forward. I have lot’s of hope right now. By reading the comments here it looks like you folks do too.
What I like about Jed is he wants to win as badly as we do. I always knew he we get it eventually. He ran into a buzz saw that was Harbaugh. Harbaugh orchestrated his exit with scorched earth and got people to turn on young Jed. Harbaugh wanted 10 mil per yr and already had the highest paid coaching staff in the league. When Harby didn’t get his money he wanted out. He got out and in time we found out that Baalke couldn’t right the ship. I wish Jed would have meddled. He finally did and hired a new coach and GM. I would say that so far it looks like a good move. When I read a comment about Jed meddling I laugh. Outside of one tweet that was deserved because of the scorched earth going on at that time by Harby I never remember Jed meddling.
Imagine how Eddie D would have been seen in the long run had he not hired Bill Walsh. The Patriots would have zero Super Bowls without Billacheat. Those coaches weren’t exactly in high demand. Sometimes you just have to get lucky. Hopefully we did just that with Lynch and Shannahan. Throw in a Goroppolo and we might just have something.
Something you and I agree on Berger. This idea that Jed tweets a lot and is meddlesome etc, I just don’t see it. He goofed one time and got tarred with that from then on. Lots of guessing about the role Paarag plays yet Lynch, who does have the juice to shit can him hasn’t, which tells the real story.
To me Jed managed to get a new stadium, designed badly but still, hired both Harbaugh and now Shanny and Lynch and got laughed at for the Lynch hire BTW, is willing to spend whatever it takes to get a winning product.
Him and more so his Dad, did blow it in some ways, ignoring the teams history, being cheap with the players and the fans etc. Now they finally have a ring of honor, banners for the iconic players around the stadium, brought back game day giveaways, getting in touch with individual fans etc. As others are taking note, that “this is our team” feeling is coming back.
If we are going to kick him for trusting in Baalke way too long and hiring the wrong coaches, aren’t we supposed to attaboy him for what he is doing now and did with the Harbaugh hire too?
Takes balls to fire 2 coaches in a row after 1 year, not to mention the costs.
Speaking of Baalke Berger:
“Only two players — defensive linemen DeForest Buckner and Ronald Blair — from Trent Baalke’s 2016 draft class of 11 players remains on the 49ers’ 53-man roster. Two other players – guard Joshua Garnett and wide receiver Aaron Burbridge – spent the season on injured reserve.”
Blair and Burbridge are on thin ice to make the roster next year so not exactly a good draft in retrospect from Baalke. Contrast that with what Lynch and his team did in 2017, the Niners are getting major ROI on the 2017 rookies this year.
Can’t speak for the other guys but I am full of hope for the future.
I see our resident rat Spitty went missing the minute the team started winning, no shock.
He’s busy repairing his indoor plumbing.
Is trailer plumbing considered indoor?
So apparently Jimmy G is known in the locker room as “Franchise”.
Nice.
Oh, Jed fucked up more than that, Bergs. But Harbs did seal his own fate by shitcanning the 2014 szeason when the Michigan job came available right before the Raider loss. The kicker is that Harbaugh knew the roster was about to break up and that Baalke was an incompetent nincompoop, so the time wa ripe to run. He threw shade on everyone in the organization. He just had to napalm every bridge in sight. To make matters worse, Jed stuck with Baalke far too long after that fiasco. Chip Kelly and Jimmy Bag-of-Donuts was the fallout from that.
That being said, yeah, we look much better now. Because the 3 most important positions in the organization are manned by smart football guys. Lynch, Shanahan, and Garoppolo. It took Jed a while to figure out that the talking should be left to the football guys, not the owner.
Yeah, Spitty is as conspicuous in his absence as NoFear was when Alex Smith started winning games.
FYI, I’m gonna be out of town. Going to Maui tomorrow so I will be out of pocket for a while. This thread will be it for about a week. I would love to see us not play Jimmy G on Sunday.
WOOF!
Berger is right ! All you have to know about jed is he wants to win as much as we do !
The betting is nine NFL HC’s will lose their jobs. Do you buy that?
I wonder if the Cleveland HC gets canned after he is rescued from Lake Erie in the dead of winter.
I coud see maybe 7. 9 sounds like the Saint Valentines Day massacre, I wonder what the record is?
So with Garappolo as our QB , what about the other guys ? Anybody think we go with 3 QB’s next year ? #1 JG #2 Hoyer #3 CJ ? Make a nice trio wouldn’t it …
OMG I love it ! That blue guy is the perfect Icon for me !
Feeling blue Rob???
Hoyer is signed to the Pats. Niners have Garoppolo, CJ and Nick Mullens is on the PS.
I was at the game Christmas Eve starting with a major tailgate with my daughter and son.
Even partyed with a few Jacksonville fans who expected to roll right thru us as I said to them Jimmy G is on fire I wouldn’t get to cocky..
The tailgate and stadium was electric compared to before Jimmy took over! Future looks great once they draft some much needed OL,WR RB etc…
Nice Kat, how cool is it to take the kids and see a winning game? Adds a little something to it.
Another cool video. Excitement is building, the fans are coming back and so are the 49ers!
We have all waited a long time for this and it feels real good.
Probably jumping the gun, but if they do win Sunday, going into the offseason on a 5 game win streak will keep my flinty heart warm through the winter!
Just beat the Lambs, full squad or not.
Yeah, they are not just gonna lay down, they got a lot to prove.
new thread is up.
