As we play the latest version of quarterback roulette. This was kind of how last year went as the front office bad-mouthed and whispered down the ability of Colin Kaepernick amid a team that lost all cohesion in the coaching staff and players.
The savior was of course the guy who is sucking now. Blaine Gabbert. A guy who has plenty of time and little to show for it. Kaepernick’s detractors have gone awful quiet as Gabbert has missed wide open guys, thrown ill-advised picks, and skipped passes on his way to a 1-4 record. All the while getting better than average protection.
With Kaepernick’s restructuring, the team is suddenly talking about letting him play. This after stating for the past 2 months that Kappy isn’t ready. Really. Frankly i don’t give a shit who plays, as long as it isn’t Gabbert. He has lived up to his 9-33 record.
And the Bills? God only knows. They fire Roman, and their defense plays better. The Von Ryan Express always has the possibility of becoming a train wreck in its own right. Huzzah! Kappy is playing for his NFL life at this point.
Hey, Badford is suddenly the hottest guy in the league. It could happen.
Forty Niners Forever 
Bergs, take 2015 for example. We needed ILB help with Willis and Borland out. We needed WR help (hello), and we needed CB help with the defections and criminal cases. So instead of focussing on the needs of the team, we get a D lineman, a safety, a TE and an OLB.
Nonsensical. None of whom seem to be all that good. Well, Tartt looks good. The rest are middling guys. I know no one hits all their picks, but look at Baalke’s record. It goes beyond who he drafted. It is also about why. If he’s drafting for BPA instead of need, he’s doing a shitty job of determining BPA. If he’s drafting for need, he has no idea of what he needs.
NJ, the hope is Kaepernick recognizes that he has time when in the pocket. Something he hasn’t had a lot of during his tenure.
It will be interesting to see Kap’s decision making if he gets the same time in the pocket as Gabbert got. This last game the Cards run a bunch of stunts with only 4 and we did not pick it up well. I hope that doesn’t turn out to be a blueprint of how to pressure our QB.
Yes it’s time for KAP! Will it make much of a difference? This train flew off the tracks miles ago. We still have Jed and Trent to screw-up the works. Throw in a few more bozos and you have the 2016 49ers! Meanwhile across the BAY the Raiders keep winning!
Another point to consider when the Draft calculations are on the line.
Where’s the strength of position in any specific Class and, what are you shopping for?
Can’t reach for a position of ‘need’ if the strength isn’t in your favor.
Look at Aguayo the 2nd RD K in TB.
Perfect example of taking a ‘need’ while doing it at the absolute wrong slot.
I’m fine with loading up on positions of need in the Mid to Late RDs, hoping to develop a starter.
What hurts is, taking a high RD target, (AJJ) and getting nothing in return.
Borland was admittedly ‘under-sized’ but very productive.
Another example of filling a need in a weak Class.
Baalke made some moves with Ray-Ray and Hodges in FA/Trade moves as well.
All in all, Coaching/Schemes play a major role in what does, or doesn’t happen, in the final evaluations.
It’s a Group effort, which the GM eventually takes the brunt of the responsibility for.
In Trent we trust?
Until a better option presents itself I guess?
Until Ownership allows a stable environment for a HC/GM to work in, nothing will matter.

Then who’s sponsible for the fallout between Harbaugh and Baalke? Harbaugh came here at Baalke’s behest. Baalke got the GM job to deliver Barbs if you read between the lines.
Did Harbaugh see how shitty Baalke was as GM and decide to bail? That’s certainly possible. Well never know. Point is, under Baalke the team has headed down to shitsville. The onus is on Jed to can him.
Jed needs to grow a pair and tell mommy and daddy that this miasma of intermediaries is no way to run a team. Get some smart football people in the building and let them make the decisions.
Chuck my theory has been that Baalke delivered Harbaugh, Paraag gummed up the works.
I would also suggest that friction developed over the Roman Offense and Kaep’s lack of development from Pistol to Pocket.
As we’re all just speculating, it was Paraag who had issues with Harbaugh and Kaep on a personal level as well.
What it boils down to for me is, Ownership couldn’t allow Baalke and Harbaugh the room to work without Paraag being thrown into the relationship,
Whatever the reasons, it imploded and this is where we’re at.
Once again, another Coaching change under the York Ownership Regime which necessitates yet another set of parameters for the GM to deal with.
What Harbaugh/Roman did isn’t close to what Tomsula/Chryst or, Chip/Modkins is attempting to do.
What pieces stay, what pieces go?
it’s simply defined as dysfunctional Ownership in my book.
Football guys have no room for meddling football guy wannabes, AKA Jed and Paraag.
Who in the eff wants to work in an organization that constantly cleans out Coaching Staffs?
Dr Daddy had issues with Mooch.
Paraag had issues with Harbaugh/Kaep.
Daddy put Paraag into the picture to begin with, as his Chief Penny-Pincher.
That, in and of itself, was the first fatal mistake.
It undermined the GM job title with Moneyball tactics.
Baalke is damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t, evaluate properly when the bottom line is all that seems to matter to these clowns.

We need one guy we can howl our complaints to. Chuck should pick the one man to shoulder the blame. Then the rest of us join in like a pack of jackels to pound the point across. We then charge over to the “other” blog like a bunch of mad Vikings on a raid of a rich Abbey in olden times.
This is my take on the Kaep saga, he wants out, plain and simple, so the Niners have been holding him out so he does not get hurt again. That in turn has come to bite them in the ass, Gabbert was not the man. So now in order for Kaep to get what he wants he has to play to a level where a team is willing to take him. That should be his motivation, no team is going to want him if he cannot play to a high level. Even if he is healthy at the end of the year and the Niners were to release him. He would have no takers if he does not perform well right now. So the Niners should win some games with Kaep.
Kap should go into politics. If the Supreme Court Justice is mentioning his cause as disrespectful than you know the man has hit a nerve. He’s wasting his time in sports.
I just don’t see how Paraag has anything to do with the relationship between the GM and the HC. That soured on its own. It seemed to take all of 2 years before they stopped communicating.
Tangentially the money aspect is something that Paraag is involved with, but atill and all its a GM matter.
Like I said, they have too may intermediaries. Eddie said it in 2010. No clear lines of communication.
That’s my thought as well, Kevin. If Colin wants out, and I’m sure he does, he’s going to need to play well to garner interest.

Giants Presser: We’re getting younger. A lot of the older guys will walk the plank along with the third and first base coaches. The ninth inning closer position will be staffed by someone not named Casilla.
I guess our magic is gone. Stellar defense and pitching were what got us those 3 world championships, and what a wonderful time that was. It is hard to go out the way we did.

Back to football. Kelly is just grasping at straws, I don’t think we will get much from having Kap in there. I just see a few more injuries waiting to happen. We have marginal players to begin with and absolutely no depth. I don’t think we are gonna fool Buffalo one bit.
Winder, all we need desperate help with is the bullpen. Romo, Casilla, and Lopez are gone. They have 4 bona fide solid starters in Bummie, Cueto, Moore, and Smarge. Blach looks like he can slide right in and be the 5th starter. They are still in very good shape. Gratned they need a couple OFers with Blanco and Pagan likely going away.
