Not to Slow the Roll . . .

. . . erball . . . but it was tiresome scrolling past 200 videos.!

Anyhow, keep ’em coming. Rather than talk politics or regurgitate the same shit for 3 years, I give you . . . Maggot Brain. Eddie Hazel’s masterpiece. Story was, George Clinton was tripping on acid and told Eddie to ‘imagine that you were told your mother died, but then found out it wasn’t true.’ The 10 minute solo is the result of that . . .

This version keeps the other band members in it. Clinton faded most everyone else out in the released version.

I still liked the crazy crab

Yeah I remember that mascot well. Those Stick days were funny and not so commercial.

yeah we weren’t a real good team then but it was fun baseball. I still remember the way Darrell Evens used to run on the field at the start of a game. You could just see how much he loved the game with his expressions. And, he did it all the time.

Wonderful. From what I can gather, it is very hard to get caught juicing in the NFL. Congrats, dumb-ass.

Winder, I was sitting in the upper deck behind the RF foul pole, about 8 rows back from the railing, and Darrell Evens hit a ball that landed 2 rows in front of me. The longest HR I’ve ever seen live. He absolutely crushed it. He and Mike Ivie hit some big home runs back in the day.

Yeah they had some real power. Seen a lot of balls hit out at the stick but I think the longest one was from Mike Schmit(sp) to straight away center field. It was an amazing shot.

Crap they franchised him. I’d offer a 1st and 5th in 2017 and 5th in 2018 for him and see if they bite.

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

      Yes Rob, couple months back.
Put some Joe favorites on for you.
Gotta see him if you can.
      Tinsley too.
I’ve yet to catch him but I will at some point.

Saw Bonamassa in Reno a couple years ago. Awesome stuff. Still waiting for Jimmy Thackery to come back to the area.

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Thackery is a fun show as well Chuck – Saw him here several times over the years.
Tinsley Ellis skirts by this area often but always in the smaller NYC venues.
I’ve reached out to his schedulers and requested some effort to book him here in NJ.
      Hoping they oblige.
Bonamassa played a club here several years ago, I’m sure Tinsley can handle it too.
He’s a GA guy but, he gets around.

Shit, Charlie Musselwhite is in town. Might need to check that out. Saw him in Napa a couple years ago.

  12. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I got a Musselwhite story. Years ago he used to play at this bar/club in Sunnyvale on El Camino. I forgot the name of it now but I only lived a couple of blocks always. Every time he played there he would come in with a briefcase and sit at a table by himself. You would think he carried his Harmonica’s in it but all he ever had in it was a bottle of vodka. This was in 1974 so I guess over the years he’s had to mello out some otherwise he woulda been dead by now. Just like the rest of us.

Knew a guy that dealt weed years ago from a Pool Hall.
Carried a cue stick case with nothing but weed in it.
Never attracted an ounce of LE attention either.
Brilliant at that time for it’s simplicity 😀
      Need a dime bag?
Go see Robin at Table 7.
