Something like that. Hey you never know. AZ is coming off 2 impressive wins, but at the expense of 2 of he worst defenses in the NFL in Chicago and New Orleans. The Niners on the other hand beat a Minnesota team that shut down the Detroit Lions pretty handily last week. Course we were folded, spindled and Rothlisbergered last week in Pittsburgh. No shame there. It just got away fast.
Which brings us to AZ. For all their recent success (sort of), they haven’t made much noise in the playoffs recently. Lots of bridesmaid shit. They have a decent defense and a fairly solid offense, if they can keep Carson Palmer upright. Kappy? Well, he’s 4-1 as a starter vs AZ with 9 TDs and only 1 pick. Seeing as AZs pass defense is Whaley, I see a continuation of the deep passing game.
As usual though this game will be decided in the trenches. Get a strong ass rush on Palmer and the DBs will be fine. No pressure means Palmer going deep. And as we saw last week, even the safeties got beat over he top. Over and over. Open up some running lanes and give Kappy time to throw and I think we get the offense rolling.
31-17 Niners.
Against Pissburgh we went with our “penny” package with three rushers only. Not a good idea imo and a big reason we allowed so many passing yds.
I have noticed Mangini rushing 3 a lot in 3rd and long situations. That just kills me.
We tried that last year against Manning and that one didn’t work well either.
It annoys the shit out of me when they don’t pressure an immobile QB. Especially on 3rd down.
If they do the same thing with Palmer, they’ll get shredded.
Bullit is still crying …..in a corner……white coats are worried. Perhaps Chuck will give him some attention……sniff…..boo hoo! Keeps wailing about N. Korea……..sniff..
Thanks for the update, Nipper.
Dropping 8 into coverage and getting no pressure is not a good way to play things. Unless you are up by 21 with 2 minutes to play. I’d rather pressure with 4-5 and play the safeties a little deeper than necessary. The defense needs to learn quickly from the Pittsburgh game and find ways to get pressure on Palmer. He’s basically the same as Ben.
And in the Banana Republic, the Revisionistas keep whining. Now it’s Tomsula’s fault Bush and Kilgore got hurt. Tomsula is not being forthcoming with his injury reports. I mean, No other coach is cagey when it comes to injury reports. Well, except for all of them. What a fucking feeb. A waste of skin. He’s using up precious oxygen.
When God was handing out brains, Buwwit thought God said ‘grains’, and said no thanks. I’m gluten free.
Against the Vikings we rushed three only twice on a 3rd and long (long being five yards or more). And once, we only rushed two. All resulted in the Vikings fail to convert.
In the PIT game we brought three and dropped eight only once on a 3rd and long. That, too, resulted in an incomplete pass and punt.
Seems like bitching about things used infrequently that worked while excusing so much of what didn’t.
You had better go back and watch the film. I don’t believe those numbers. If you got them from a service, cancel the subscription.
There were seven plays where the Vikings were in 3rd and long (5 yards or more). I watched every one of them. I knew it wouldn’t matter to folks who prefer the idea that reality is whatever they say it is.
Facts are not your friend.
You and facts go together like the truth and obfuscation. I remember a play where Phily’s Westbrook went for about 50 yards up the middle on us a few years back. The safety who I liked and you didn’t was blamed by you for taking a wrong angle. Meanwhile, the NT you liked was busy eating grass after getting shoved aside. The NT was the reason we got torched on that play but your wanting to sell that I was wrong got in the way of “your” facts. I have learned from the past what your facts are based on.
Your memory is as lacking as your veracity.
I think you’re referring to Aubrayo Franklin. The play I think you’re manufacturing to distract from the point of the OP. Some might even say obfuscating.
You say you don’t believe my numbers, then give me yours.
So you are still defending the NT. You might be delusional but at least you are consistent.
Seems like it? I saw it a couple times. it didn’t work either time. I think we’ve proven that not getting pressure isn’t conducive to slowing down a given team. Whether it’s Pitts or AZ. AZ’s line isn’t as good as Pittsburgh’s, so knocking Palmer around is key. They aren’t getting a ton of running yards so we need sustained pressure.
Kappy? Well, he’s looking better this year. Even in the loss last week.
Anyhow, if you ever get tired of leading the idiots around by the nose . . .
You may well have seen it a couple times not work but it wasn’t on 3rd and longs.
I’ll give you that. I wasn’t considering what down it was.
It was interesting that Kap says he is being used in a way that better fits his integrity. I wondered what that meant. Maiocco thinks it has to do with Kap being able to call plays at practice so he can communicate with his team mates. Last year Harbaugh was living his fantasy of still being an NFL QB and called the plays in practice. If that ism true then I can see how a QB would feel better being able to lead practice if he is going to lead the team during am game.
33-18, Arizona…
That’s the spirit.
Well, I went with 9-7 on the season. This is one of the 7…
Heh heh. Still think this team has the players to do well.
It does. Very tough game, hope to see the D that played the Vikings not the Pitts D.
Niners 24-21
Go Niners!
Of course this prediction is worthless but expect the Niner D to give a better accounting of themselves against the Cards. Should be a bit more pressure on Palmer. The passing of Kap will be adequate keeping the score low. Niners have to run the ball. Perhaps a 20-17 hard fought victory for the Niners if the D shows. Special teams might show-up too. That would be very nice indeed.
I dunno maybe I’m in the minority but I think Kap is a better QB than Palmer. I also like our RB’s better than theirs. This game is all about how we will play on defense. One thing we got going is that AZ really doesn’t like us, all we got to do is disrupt them enough so they start to make mistakes. The media seems to have penciled AZ into the superbowl already and I am not buying it. Palmer is choke central and except for a good OL and some fast WR’s they are just who they are.
Not sure if I did this already. I was gonna go 31-17 Niners but on reflection I’m going
22-18 Niners.
Kap IS better than palmer
In Arizona. This town is a Niners home game. Off to McFadden for the “Niners Empire Takeover” party.
Go Niners!!!
Funny that Spitty thinks BYU and Oregon state are the cream of college football. Imbecilic troll.
It’s battle of the halfwits over there. They all try to outstupid each other. They are all successful.
Especially that Bullit. He’s wound so tight he’s ready for a straight jacket or better yet some good drugs.

Good to hear from you TF! I like your picture, especially the dog!
I expect the 49ers to win today.
Hi Twin good to see you. Great day for 49er football. I don’t have a clue as to what kind of team we will see today but I bet we will be ready, gonna give 110%, and are gonna be well coached. Should be a fucking fun game.
This stadium was built for fans! Air conditioned and beer vendors everywhere.
