Game 3 Loometh-eth-eth . . .

Here we are at the penultimate game of the preseason. Usually reserved for the starters making one last effort at looking like they are ready for the regular season to get rolling. As of now, and even with the impending departure of Ahmad Brooks, the defense looks like it is in decent shape. No we aren’t nearly as deep as we once were, but with Bowman back, Dockett ready to go, and a up-and-coming set of young linebackers, I think the D can play close to the level of last year. A feat in itself when you look at the injuries suffered by last year’s squad. Dontae Johnson has done well at CB, and rookie safety Tartt has done well. The hitting is there. The coverage remains to be tested in a strident manner.

The offense? Well, that’s a different kettle of fish. Near as I can guess, and I’m guessing I’m seeing what think I see, the zone blocking scheme we’ve been using has opened some big holes for Hyde, Davis, and even Hayne. Pass pro? Well. That’s where the kettle is. The protection has been spotty at best as the coaching staff moves the various pieces around. The WRs haven’t really gotten too involved as a result, and the 1st team offense has had a grand total of 3 drives, so it is time to let fly.

    O line is atrocious.

Christ. 2 holds a false start, a missed assignment and nothing in the passing game.

Defende getting to the ball in the shotgun at the same time Kappy does. Holding call. Bad snap. It’s ugly. Only the read option on third and a million with Denver in the prevent worked.

    How come no Hayne?

Bradford 10-10 121 yards 3 TDs. That’s three very good teams the Eagles have just smacked in preseason. Will it carry over?

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. Bush shouldn’t be returning punts.

  6. bigflavor's avatar Flavor says:

Fucking Hayne woulda fielded that 1000 times out of 1000

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah. That’s the beginning middle and end of Bush’s returning career.

Jesus. Blocking is flat terrible. Pears is a revolving door.

The defense is looking a million times better than I expected it would be. I think Bowman’s the big reason for that. The offense, OTOH. Oy vey!

Evan Mathis looks like a guy they should have taken a chance on.

Jesus, one play and a safety. Kaep has no time but he almost looked surprised to see orange back there. No clue, as usual

Well when your RT whiffs on his block you think you have more than 2 seconds.

There’s the diff between these offenses. They are giving Manning time to throw when they need to.

  13. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Manning looks like shit. That was a gift.

  14. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Acker’s having a good game so far.

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Let’s see somer offense

  16. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Play calling is real soft so far.

  17. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Can they block a 3nrd down play?

  18. rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

    Good run by Hyde.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    This is ridiculuos.

They aren’t even blitzing and we can’t block 4.
