All-Time Post of Forever (#1)
NJ49er
says:
September 7, 2011 at 7:40 pm (Edit)
I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

Hmmm….doesn’t leave a whole lot to talk about then really……chirp….chirp….
Hey now . . . football?
That does it, I’m holding out too. No religion, guns, politics, trolling…. racist comments? Are you trying to make this the most boringest blog in the history of mankind? There’s only so much 12th, NoFear, Niper and I can do for you. First off, bring back Del. He apologizes. He’s come full circle. He was appalled I suggested a Memphis team.
Why is it we’re still missing Phil? He said someone was hacking his account. Blamed Skeebers? I mean, if this is going to be a fun place to blog, there needs to be justice, damn it. I demand it. And speaking of justice. Where’s my POTD? My people demand I get more POTDs.
Bring back Del. Get to the bottom of who was hacking Phil. Give me more POTDs …. or I’m holding out.
12th and NoFear have my back because we’re like-minded thinkers. Hell, just about ten minutes ago I was thinking of bombing an abortion clinic in Texas. See… we’re all buddies here.
If my demands aren’t met, I’ll blog on Skeeber’s blog which is a lot like being traded to the Buffalo Bills.
What about Judge Judy? Take your demands to her.
Maybe his coconut tree fell over. Haven’t heard from him in a while. Not even on FB.
Probably sipping some good booze…….
Wow, have I missed a lot!! I could have sworn this was a blogg about the 49ers. but when it is a slow news day, what better way to have fun than to talk politics, racism, and any of the other things that people have very STRONG opinions on. So to stir the pot. The Name Redskins, seem to be kind of offensive to some people and they are protesting. IMO the owner is just being stubborn, does not want to be told what his team should be name. He is an idiot. Just change it. Now the whole right – left – center – independent – green. whatever you want to be. Capitalism is a live and well for some. America is swimming just about the water. Greed is good according to Michael Douglas charactor in Wall Street. Well as we all can see, no it is not. Greed is going to bring down America, I forget who said it but they said Capitalism cannot last forever the government will collapse. I will google it to find out.
Capitalism can’t last forever, but it’s the best thing going so far.
America is only 200+ years old, not going to last the way it is going, as it is with Obama care socialism is right around the corner!!
Missing in the stable…….Dennis… he hates everything except you guessed it. Well he likes the ponies too.
Hey NoFear….. Letter came for you in the mail today…..
http://dangerousminds.net/comments/dying_vets_fuck_you_letter_to_george_bush_dick_cheney_needs_to_be_read?onswipe_redirect=no&oswrr=1
Might be time to shut this bitch down.
Have you ever heard of the boy who cried wolf? It’s a good parable. Let me tell you about him, just in case you’ve never heard of it. As I remember the story, there was the wolf who was ravaging the village, eating people. The dingo ate my baby kinda shit. The boy was tasked to alert the town when the wolf showed up. I can’t remember if the boy was either playing games or scared of his own shadow, but the main point when the wolf wasn’t there, the boy yelled for help – crying wolf. The crime was he did it several times getting his fellow villagers all up in a tizzy when the wolf wasn’t there. Eventually when the wolf showed up he cried wolf, nobody showed and the kid done got ate.
I wonder now that the lead over the Dodgers is down to 3 whether Bochy will ever admit he had a major brain fart that lasted 3 days. Three days in a row he replaced a cruising pitcher with Romo, who proceeded to lose the lead and the game. His fascination with George “more gas for the fire, Ethel!” Kontos is also nothing short of psychotic.
This series sweep by the Cubbies at PacBell/AT&T/whatever-the-hell-they-call-it-now came on the heels of losing 3 of 4 to the Nationals, and would’ve halted the downward headed missile in its flight. Instead the Giants lost 6 of 7 and the crash began.
How’s that, Chuck? BTW, the US has been partially socialist since the Civil War and the 14th Amendment outlawing slavery, and I believe the Taft-Hartley Act(?) outlawing monopolies and paving the way for the breaking up of Rockefeller’s Standard Oil.
Bochy can’t really be faulted for going to his closer in the 9th, rrtf. Kontos was sent to AAA when Casilla came back. See, Casilla got hurt and they called up Kontos. If you are on the team, you have to come through. Or get sent back to AAA.
It wasn’t the 9th in the games Chuck, maybe the last 1 don’t recall. But Machi and Affeldt, the starters at that point in the game, maybe 1 other reliever I don’t recall, were completely shutting them down (no hits, no runs, no errors). Romo was then left in after allowing the trying run or runs on, and then long enough to let the go-ahead run on and in. It was mind boggling. Pinch hitting Adrianza (batting (.186) for a .250 hitter was fascinating, too, with runners in scoring position. Strike out or double play, I forget now. The Giants didn’t score and Romo came in.
3 TIMES IN A ROW, CHUCK.
When you’re trying to end a losing streak and you put in guys repeatedly who are blowing leads, it’s a cockup.
The Giants lead over the Dodger before the Nationals (if Washingtion called themselves The White Eyes, would that even things out?) series was 10 games.
Going into the Cubbies series, I think it was 8, maybe 9 (pre-Romo).
It’s now 3. The jury has come in. Guilty!
Romo didn’t blow the 3rd game. Bummie blew a 7-4 lead to get the lead down to 7-6.
Point is, Romo blew 2 saves, but other pitchers helped shit along. The hitters have left about 50 guys on bases lately.
Look at today. Fucking Collmiter rthrows 100 pitches in 5 innings and the Giants score 1 run. Tinmmny didn’t pitch lights out, but the Giants should have scored at least 5 in the first 4 innings.
Romo;s 2 blown saves didn’t lose the other 7, rtf. The starters have been getting lit up.
Wasn’t my point. It was to stop the slide. And Romo did pitch and badly in all 3 games. I believe in all 3 the offense had come from behind early on at least once. There’s such a thing as players getting frustrated with repeating and repeating and repeating one slumping guy losing it for them.
Romo didn’t pitch in the losses to the ChiSox. He blew 2 vs Colo. That’s it. He didn’t pitch vs the Nats, ChiSox, or tonight. Bummie lost 2-1. Vogie got lit up. Gutierrez and Machi blew the Colo game. Cain got lit up vs Chi. Kontos got torched vs the Nats. The point is, Romo led the league in saves up to last week. He’s the least of the problems.
What’s Matt Cain’s record, RTF?
You’re right; I obviously meant the Rockies. It was late; I had my own brain fart. You COMPLETELY missed my point , however. Prior to the White Eyes series, the Giants had won something like 9 of 10 and 12 of 14. White Eyes outplayed them 3 of 4, no blown games there.
The pitching was SAILING along against the Rockies when Romo came in each game, multiple innings with no threats, no runs, and a 7th inning or later lead. The third game, Romo led the charge from 4-2 lead to 7-4 deficit. In the 9th.
Instead of winning 4 of 7, it was losing 6 of 7. Instead of a 10 game lead, it was 7. Players feed off each other and the manager, win or lose. Baseball is a strange game in that respect, streaky, hexed at times.
Thanks to Romo and Bochy’s repeatedly decisions to use him when other relievers were pitching great and Romo’d instantly get in trouble, the lead is now 3.
Guilty as charged.
e.
At least the Giants don’t play in an aircraft hanger. You see all those empty seats? Ok they got a swimming hole. Big deal! They got Tony LaRussa looking down on them from the suites. That must be a pain.
BLEEP THIS LOSING STREAK!
Definitely a different way to have a June swoon. But, that’s why it’s the best game in the world. Live and die by the team.
This is my Dennisesque post. Who cares about the Giants losing streak. They’ve got one of my top movies of all-time on TCM right now.
Key Largo with Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, Edward G. Robinson, Lionel Barrymore and Claire Trevor. It even has Ward Bond in it (Mom took blood from Bond once when she was a hospital pro).
Better still, while the hurricane scenes are on the tube, we’ve got a neat summer New Mexico T-storm going on. Wind and rain on the TV, Lightning and rain out the window. Can’t beat it.
78 days to go.
(No Ward Bond, I just threw that in for the Mom reference.)
Oops, I wrote “Dennisesque” and I forgot the mallards!
No, RTF, you are wrong. Romo had 3 saves the week leading up to the losing streak. The starters lost 6 of the 9 games lost. Gutierrez lost the 7th. Romo didn’t pitch in 7 of the 9 losses. He’s their closer. They are going to use him in save situations. Every time,
June 21, Lincecum, Gutierrez, Affeldt and Machi cruising. Romo L. I followed the game on the internet and it was precisely how I described it. June 22, Vogelsong, Petit, Affeldt and Machi cruising. Romo L. You’re right about June 23; that one I must not have been following closely enough or just seeing Romo in my nightmares, but Gutierrez L was left in long after it was painfully clear that he was being beaten like a drum. Romo did get the S last night.
As I wrote, they were beaten 3 of 4 against the White Eyes. The Rockies didn’t sweep them, the Giants swept themselves.
In addition, just because the scoring gives L to a starter doesn’t always mean he’s really at fault. A two out single in a tie game, followed by a reliever meltdown is a prime example. A one run deficit in the middle innings that becomes five in the incapable hands of a reliever is another. Context means squat in W/L, but it means a whole lot when judging pitching performances.
