OTAs are Done . . . . (gulp)

Now for the dreaded down time. Last time these guys had some down time, they couldn’t stay out of the paper. Or the police blotter. Or jail. Still a couple things to iron out with Adlson Smith and Chris Culliver, but at least Kappy is clear of any and all BS in Miami.

So, 5 weeks until training camp officially kicks off, and the real fun gets closer to fruition. Let’s hope everyone stays out of trouble. And no more about the Washington team. Or politics. Or religion. Or guns. Or taxes.

    Then again . . .

And I don’t care if a guy is the closer or Mother Teresa, if the other team is going down without so much as a whimper, and the new reliever immediately prompts their rally towels to start swirling, bring in somebody else that game! There’s always tomorrow.

Romo DIDN’T PITCH in 7 of the 9 losses. Not sure how he gets the blame for those.

They ain’t gonna change closers over 2 blown saves. He blows 3 of the next 5? Maybe.

Rivera wasn’t perfect. The only guy to get through a whole season w/o blowing a save was Eric Gagne. Who turned out to be roiding.

    • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Why do you keep referring to games I didn’t include in my criticism? It was the ROCKIES series that they bungled and that accelerated the freefall. Also, I made no mention of changing the closer. Strawmen, anyone? To hell with it, I’m going to go feed my mallards. Oh yeah, no mallards in New Mexico.
      77 days!

      • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

What’s your point, then? You bitch and moan about Romo Romo Romo. and he was responsible for 2 of the 9 losses. . . Your point is what?

The Giants lost 3 of 4 to the Nats. Romo played no part in any of those losses. You call Bochy an idiot for putting Romo in to close the Colo games? Romo’s the closer. What is Bochy supposed to do? He didn’t lose the 2 after either.

Romo’s got 2 saves in the last 2 games, BTW

      • rtfirefly's avatar rtfirefly says:

Gawd, you’re big on straw men!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bitched and moaned about Romo IN THE ROCKIES SERIES BEING PUT IN AND LEFT IN AFTER HE WAS BEING HIT AFTER THE OTHER PITCHERS WERE CRUISING.

YOU KEEP REFERRING TO GAMES WHICH HADNT HAPPENED YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CAN JUSTIFY ANYTHING NOW, RIGHT, BASED ON SOMETHING THAT MIGHT HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE.

Gawddamn you have reading comprehension problems. No point in bringing up any point. You’ll set up your straw men, attribute them as me, and then reply to me while attacking them.

Have fun arguing with yourself, dippy.

      • Then what is your point, RTF?

All these posts, and I don’t see where you offer anything but whining. Spell it out for me. What is Bochy suppoed to do?

He pulled Romo from the 1st blown save. Ooops. Pagan made 2 throwing errors to help things along. Kontos gave up a 2 run single (charged to Romo).

In the 2nd game there were 2 outs, bottom of the 9th. Oner run lead. What’s Bochy supposed to do there? See the future? Pull his closer?

“Gee, I think Romo’s going to give up an inside the park home run. I’d better yank him.”

Pagan fucked up that play as well. It should have been a base hit, but it ended up a little league home run. He ended up on the DL after that game.

I was doing a little research on our UDFA OL-man Fou Fonoti from MI State.
He’s a converted OT that figures to kick inside to OG/C.

Turns out he’s a cousin to Cincy DT Domata Peko, also an alumn of MI State.

See how he fares once the pads go on.
Everything suggests he’s a mauler with major upside.
He’s one of the guys responsible for the great numbers produced by RB Le’Veon Bell, now of the Steelers.

He suffered a stress fracture in his foot that kept him under the radar apparently –

The US sucks at soccer. I used to play and coach. I know something about the game. First off, our goalies are always pussies – every time. You can’t have a pussy for a goalie in the world cup. Secondly, America has never been able to do corner kicks right. Is it that hard to lob the ball into the middle where two or three guys jump for it? It’s like in hockey…. put the puck on net and good things happen. But we can’t lob the ball into the center to put pressure on the defense? At the world cup level? Secondly, we can’t maintain control of the ball. I know we’ve got players from all over the world playing for the US, but the core of the US soccer team still can’t control the ball, and pass… keeping possession. Poor skills and lack of a killer instinct means the US will never overcome its consistent poor showings in the world cup.

You want to change that? Get a stud for a goalie who never says die and won’t recognize mistakes. Then create a team that can control the ball and play possession soccer, and then, regardless of the height of your forward line, play the ball up for headers in front of the opposition’s goalie. Soccer is not a terribly sophisticated game, but we certainly still suck at after watching our match today.

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

      Prevent Defense sucks everytime.
Played not to lose and still did Spit.

I think our goalie was clock watching actually – Looked totally surprised when that pass came in front of him –

I don’t give a damn about soccer! People glued to giant outdoor screens like morons is not my cup of tea. Sorry!

  7. Nipper's avatar Nipper says:

Instead of the SKINS, Snyder should consider the name TAXES! People would really howl over the Washington TAXES! A little black humor. I guess it would hurt the sale of jerseys.

The thing is, it’s futbol, so who gives a shit?

Just a bunch of crazies dressing up in face paint and costumes and hootin’ and hollerin’… oh yeah, nevermind.

  9. And Santa Claus is white. . . As was Jesus.

  10. IT’s oppressive, Spitty. Not oppressed . . .

Play nice folks. you too, No Fear.

    Off to the Giants game.

    • Spitblood's avatar Spitblood says:

I hope they lose 100-0, it rains and you have to sit next to a two hundred pound woman with open sores.

      • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Close, fucknut. 6-0. May your worm never find water.

      • Spitblood's avatar Spitblood says:

6-0’s your Karma for all the torment you lay upon the innocent here at Niners forever. NoFear hates you. Hate’s a strong word, and in NoFear’s case regarding you, the word’s not strong enough. Del despises you for your hypocrisy. One minute you’re banning him for racist comments and the next you and I are joking around about the Memphis Niggers. 12th is somewhat neutral. He hates me more than he hates you. Phil hates you for not protecting his password better. He was hacked and then to add insult to injury you blamed his mental capacity. Barley shows up around game time. Grumpy won’t blog here anymore because when you were nose deep in pain killers you alienated the right wing. I haven’t helped matters, but I’m right. So that’s how you get 6-0. Karma: It’s a bitch…. and then you become one.

      • It’s aloooong offseason, skippy.

      • Besides, context matters to me.

      • If NoFear hates me, I’ve done something right.

  12. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49er says:

Well, considering a good part of the Redskins lore had more to do with Hogs and womens’ attire, I think it would be fitting to rename the DC football team the Pork Rinds.
That way they could still associate themselves with ‘skins’.

    As for the cross-dressing aspect?

Spit could be on to something with the 200lb women thing.
Sure would be a hoot trying to determine who the trannies are on game day.

Wampum Dan needs a better PR/Mktg strategy for this situation.
There’s $$$ to be made Danny Boy.

Once again, Malcolm Jenkins hosted his annual football camp here in NJ, no Anthony Davis.

Kudos to Malcolm and several other area guys that did attend and help the local kids.
Very much wish Aldon could devote this sort of time to worthy activities like this.

  14. Shit, as long a Aldon keeps himself out of the news, I’ll be very happy. This 5 weeks will tell some about what happens going forward. Seeing as he keeps his nose clean.

Still nothing on Crash Bandicoot Culliver.

Doing some community service ahead of time would send the right message as well.

  15. Shiot, even Crabs has gotten into the act of putting on a football camp.

  16. Why is it so fun to fuck with Bullit?

I think he might be a few brick shy of a load.
