I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

I think Indy is playing with some very real passion. I also think the Ravens are on a downward spiral that begins now with the retirement of Lewis and the erosion of the support for Flacco in the locker room. Lewis supported Flacco. I think we all saw the clip in the locker room last year of Ray Lewis saying (after Cundiff botched a game tying field goal) “Joe, you duck your head to nobody.” The retirement of Lewis will signify a new day in Baltimore. Maybe the Ravens play a hard, inspired game for Ray. Maybe it’s a enough, maybe it isn’t. But at the end of the day, the locker room in Baltimore needs to believe in their qb. I say it’s close, but I think Indy and Luck beat Ray and Flacco.
I also think Seattle will beat the Redskins. I know Seattle isn’t as good on the road, but Seattle will take away RGIII’s read option, and Seattle will bottle up Morris. That leaves the ball in the hands of RGIII, needing to complete passes. I’m a Kyle Shanny fan. Kyle and Mike will have a smart game plan, and the game will be close. But I believe Russell Wilson will score more points off Lynch’s powerful runs. This game comes down to who has the better defense. I think Seattle’s defense is better than Washington’s.
Houston is a pretender, but Cinci doesn’t have the confidence yet. If Houston gets the lead, Watt will pin his ears pack and make Dalton run for his life. Foster will play ball control and Wade Phillips will shut down Green.
The Vikings will beat the Packers. Woodson is back, and Clay has said, “Adrian won’t run for 200 on us again.” But I think Peterson is a man on a mission, and I could see him having another big day. The Packers aren’t a ground and pound team. When a team with a passing attack meets a team with a rushing attack, the team with the passing attack usually wins – especially at home. But Adrian just had a career year – second best in NFL history. I don’t see Adrian’s season ending on Saturday.
If this holds up, the 49ers face the Seahawks at home. Gotta earn it. Nobody is going to hand the 49ers the Lombardi trophy.

NF, I’ll echo your list. Houston has its issues but has one hell of a defense and Arian. Dalton will sling the ball, but while his TD rate compares roughly to Kappy, his INT rate is twice Colin’s. GB is a one-trick pony, but when it’s Aaron Rodgers that’s a damned fine trick. If he gets the ball last in a close game, you are screwed. The Vikings managed the clock and avoided that last week; but that might be harder this week at Lambeau. Seattle is blazing hot right now. RG3 and company are good and will give them a fight. Seattle is on the road; at home they’d win, in DC it’s a razor thin margin one way of the other. And Indy is everyone’s sweetheart with Luck but Balt has wily old Ed Reed lying in wait for his mistakes, and a host of starters who have done this dance before. It’s mainly the Lewis and Suggs injuries that wrecked their season, but don’t count out an experienced team going against a young QB, Should be some fun games in any event.
Grumpy, I think Carroll has got those guys believing in themselves, even away from home and the12th man, and beating WAS will make it seem like that call in their GB game was preordained.
Don’t forget about Rice in Baltimore. I’m banking on the hope that brother John doesn’t. And as you say, them containing Hilton and Wayne somewhat.

I like all the home teams this weekend. First up, CIN @ HOU. The Texans ended the year with a resounding THUD, and the Bengals are everyone’s darlings and wise guy pick to win. I ain’t buying it. HOU wins by 14+. Tomorrow night it’s MIN @ GB. It’s payback time for last week’s loss. The Pack is angry, and more importantly, getting healthy. GB wins by 14+. Sunday it’s IND @ BAL. I’ll be rooting like hell for Luck and his Colts, but I don’t see ’em winning in Baltimore. Harbaugh and Flacco are always good for at least one playoff win. And the guy who beat the murder rap will be an inspiration with his speeches. His play at LB has been over for awhile now. Final Wild Card game is SEA @ WAS. This is the matchup that I have the least amount of confidence. Gut feeling; in a very close contest it’s the Seahawks that make the big mistake to cost ’em the game late.

Maybe the two best young D-linemen in the league at Houston, in J.J. Watt and Geno Atkins. That’ll be one hell of a game for watching the trenches. Watt looks more and more like he is taking Justin Smith’s mantle of best down Defensive lineman. Here he gets to show what he can do on the big screen of the playoffs. Indy – Baltimore is a rising team with a future superstar QB against a veteran team of hard-assed defensive players. Even with Lewis and Suggs hobbled, Reed is still out there, reading your eyes and jumping your patterns. I think we will see some damned good games this weekend.

I like CIncy, mostly ’cause they were a waiver wire pick up near the end of the season for me and their defense was fantastic. Who did they replace? The shit Houston defense that I summarily and merrily kicked to the waiver wire.
Anyway, I’m going with Cinn, Minn, Washington and Indy……
There is no dominant team out there right now. Any of these playoff teams can beat any of the other playoff teams, regardless of the venue.
