Cue the Star Wars music. This, I suppose is the official game 1 of the Colin Kaepernick era. If you don’t know the story, it’s a pretty good one of a kid born in Milwaukee, adopted and raised in Turlock, CA. He was a phenomenal athlete no matter what he did, and was an outstanding pitcher and all-league basketball player at Pitman High in Turlock. He was recruited by a bunch of colleges for baseball and basketball, but only University of Nevada Reno offered him a football scholarship. After a stellar college career, he ended up as the only guy to evern throw for over 10,000 yards, and rush for over 4,000 yards in a college career.

The Rams game is one we should win but we played so terribly against them at home, it’s not an easy call.And I flashback on the second game against them in 2010 when Singletary did everybody a huge favor by starting Troy Smith. We did have a 45-3 this year, and a 34-0,last year a 48-3. Just took a peek at Joe’s best year, 1989.People used to bitch about Bill being conversative with a lead, as well. They had two blow outs, 45-3, 26-0. That was regular season, they blew everybody out in the postseason, culminating in the 55-10 thashing of Horse Face and his Broncos.
I do think that the Rams game was at least partially the result of some Niner rust from the long time between that and the previous game. Niners sleepwalked in the first quarter. I doubt that happens this time; Fangio will have the alarm clock set, the defense will come to play. Bowman will have about 25 million guaranteed reasons to smack Stephen Jackson. 30-17 Niners…
Saying 49ers played poorly becomes a lame excuse because the Rams also were coming off a bye. Coach Fisher outgameplanned Coach Harbaugh.
The Rams have only scored over 20 points 15 times since 2010. Yes, you read that right. 2010. Four of those were against us though. But not this time. Our D was a sieve to their run game last time. Not his time. Amendola got off the LOS easily and had Rogers spinning like a top. Not this time.

Well, ixnay on the iptray. We got to Lodi, and the rain was torrential all the way there. We got word that I-5 was shut down in Stockton due to flooding. Then word that there was a big rig accident in Stockton before the closure. This was all after witnessing a semi jump the median on I-5 in south Sac. Fricking crazy shit out there. Bat country. . .

I used to watch the Niners stomp the Rams in Anaheim then lose or tight win at the Stick. Let’s hope the home and away thing is still working.
Well, we got a big break on the penalty that called back amenwhoever’s long gain, a break on the pass to Williiams that would ended the game if he’d turned around, they got a break on the Akers miss, everybody sucked. If there ever was a game where a tie was too good for either team, that was it. I think Smith saw the future in his woozy state and said “fuck this”. Elizabeth is looking for property in Carefree, AZ. ( insert the gay smiley face).
I thought on balance the Rams did enough to win that last game.
Fisher totally blew it by giving the Niners an extra 3rd down play on the penalty near the goal line. Instead of it being 4th and 2 and forcing the Niners to kick the FG, Fisher backed up the Niners for 3rd and 7, and Crabs scored on the re-do.
Makes no sense. Then again, the game had about 15 plays that could have turned the game in either team’s favor. Chalk it up to, I don’t know, one game in 24 days?
That and I felt they overlooked the Rams, I know Twin that never happens.
I’m afraid we underestimated the Rams and I don’t think we were very well prepared for them week 10. With all the starting QB distractions I hope we solve that element at least.
Their o-line blocked very well against our front and Amendola isn’t all that easy to jam at the line as I keep reading we should do. He’s mostly motioning and mirrored by Rogers and sets behind the LOS. If we try to trail cover with a safety on top they’ll just run on us more or go to their deep burners. Linebacker help would work but their keys are generally in the backfield and Amendola’s too fast to cover as a second or third priority. It’s not impossible and disguising looks helps but it’s not as easy as some would have it. Luckily, Amendola’s been faking injury all week and maybe it’s not a fake.
The Rams are undefeated in their division games and it’s a big deal to them so they’ll come to play.
It’s true Amendola won’t be easy to jam but they need to do something other than playing Rogers off him 3-5 yds in the slot. Run D has to be better too.
Both Amendola and Jackosn are dealing with foot problems. I’m sure they both play, but they’ve both been ‘limited’ in practice this week. Just like Rice used to be ‘limited’ as well . . . He used to hobble around in pregame warmups, and throw a buck fifty on some hapless team.

Here it was 75 today and 45 at night. Last year on this exact date, we’d had a foot of snow already and had two straight -20 nights where even the icicles come inside to get warm.
Hell, Chuck, I might move to Lodi next spring. NM springs and early autumns are spectacular. But the winters really suck.
I think the Niners are going to open it up this week like no other game under Harbaugh. A couple INTs for Kappy, even a fumble. And 350 yards passing, 3 TDs through the air and another 60 on the ground.
Remember, Kappy. You’ve got the best defense in the league behind you.
Forty Niners had over 600 yards total offense against the NY Jets.
Kappy had 117 yards passing in 3.5 quarters against the Rams 3 weeks back.
Harbaugh would only get pass happy if the team fell behind.
Take the lead and they run the ball and bleed the clock.
The Jets had just lost The Island for the year. Then Holmes on O. The Jets were falling over the edge already, D, O, you name it. And on their best day they suck. The Jets are not a measure by which to rate a team. The Bears? The Pack? The Gints? They most certainly are.
