Game Day — Stairway to Cleveland

For you Jefferson Starship fans: fuck you, we do what we want . . . On paper this should be a fairly easy go of things. On the field as well. Although these things rarely go as planned. Still a bit amazed how fast expectations have changed for this team. The demoralizing come from ahead loss to Dallas was followed by an eked out win on the road in Cincy. Week 4 was supposed to be the reality check for this team. Keep close, play tough, but in the end, get overwhelmed by the superior talent in Philly. Then Tampa, the west coast killers, and on to undefeated Detroit. These were all supposed to be teams that were better, stronger, and more prepared than the 49ers. Guaranteed lock wins when their fans looked at their respective schedules. Well, things didn’t work out that way for those guys.

Cleveland? Don’t know jack about them, other than Mike Holmgren is their GM. A job he failed at miserably in Seattle. Their biggest threat, Peyton Hillis is out, and Colt McCoy is a decent enough QB, I guess.Again, haven’t seen him at all. Their defense is ranked pretty high. But 2 of their 3 wins came at the hands of 2 winless teams, mail it Indy, and the Dullfins. So, this probably won’t be a blowout, but I don’t think it’ll be that close in the end.  Somewhere like 24-10.

Beyond that, we’ll have the Philly/Cowboy game on Sunday night.  Lots of interesting stories there. Dog killer vs Promo. America’s team vs the Broad St bullies. The Dream Team vs the scream team. Maybe Romo chokes under the bright lights on prime time football again. Vick has put up astounding numbers in his 4 losses. Should be another fun game. These guys usually have some crazy shit go on. Joe Pisarchik anyone?

Dallas fans are in a deep funk after watching the Rangers fail to put away the Cards. They will be looking for a consolation win against Philly and God willing they will manage to snatch defeat from the clutches of victory. Only Dennis will mourn. Rest of us will find this reason for a few chuckles. Certainly Chuckles AKA the Chuckster will be sporting an evil grin.

2 hours to bedtime, gotta be fresh for that 4 AM kick off.

I think we rack up another 200 yards rushing and we shut the Browns down. I could easily see them being held to a field goal…….

Hope you’re right Flavor; wow that would be great! Gotta be better than my FF team against Big D, Dennis, Denny, Del Mar, old whatshisname.

Phil, you have an early 1-0 lead in our FF matchup. Enjoy it while it lasts. 😛

I forget which one, but an ESPN “expert” said that Garrett needs to devise ways to keep the ball out of Romo’s hands.. I *think* he misspoke.

Those “experts” best not be dissin’ my fantasy QB. I’m gonna need him big time tonight vs Philly. I’m banking on 25+ pts from Jessica Simpson’s ex. You seen the latest pics of her pregnant? She’s eating for at least two…

    Some early upsets brewing…
    Rams > Saints
    Cards > Ravens
    Fish > G-Men
Crocodiles Crocs > Alex Sucks My Schlong

If that last one holds true, the commish is gonna crawl inside a bottle.
And I don’t mean the kind that have a ship in it…

    Cardinals 24 Ravens 3

After that stinker the blackbirds put up last Mon night vs the Jags, Jimbo’s bro might be looking for a new job this Christmas.

I hear Macy*s could use some people up in gift wrap.

Wish that Balt game was on. Why we get Miami/NYG I have no idea. Balt looks like a shakey-assed team all of a sudden. Their offense looks like something out of the Mike Nolan/Jim Hostler playbook.

Couse, as I say that, Balt takes the lead. StL is still winning though.

Niner continue their streak of never getting the ball.

    Niners recover!!! Yeah, baby.

Brooks without his helmet gets the sack/fumble.

Bullshit interference call, but I’ll take it.

Touchdown! Marker has to be 12 men . . .

Good to see them targeting Edwards.

Anyone got Joe Staley on their fantasy team? Razzle-dazzle.

TD Big Ben. Rapist fantasy pts. They count, too.

Hey, you think Titus Young was open in the EZ? Chuck coulda completed that pass from the seat of his dropped pants as he got rejected from the whorehouse.
