All-Time Post of Forever (#1)
NJ49er
says:
September 7, 2011 at 7:40 pm (Edit)
I see this Season starting with lots of motion and ground attack.
Our OL is going to take time to adjust to the new system, however, a WCO should help them once Alex and the WRs get into the necessary rhythm.
Game 1, lots of Gore and Hunter, 9ers win a close one. I do expect Harbaugh to take some deep shots though, VD and Braylon will be a nice duo.

Well, I guess I should take some of that back- obviously Harbaugh is totally responsible for Smith’s performance this year. So it was Jim who had a couple bad throws..
Such pomposity just encourages any criticism of Smith no matter how minor. But you already know that. You may like to invite argument as much as Dennis.
Alex played a good game today.
Don’t forget the rest of the integral parts that you usually like to mention. They had a good game, too.
“Don’t forget the rest of the integral parts that you usually like to mention. They had a good game, too.” Actually, since your kind has always assigned the team record to Smith when they were losing, I will not be crediting his “supporting cast”. Smith is now 4-1 this year..
My kind? You must mean “the good guys.”
I’m just giving you a hard time. You’ve always supported Smith even when it was an impossible task. You deserve to gloat a little when he’s doing well.
Remember though, everyone that reads here is happy to see the team doing good. Even the ones who critique their shortcomings when they’re not.
With Spitter gone, it is a much more reasonable group.Actually most of my sparring has been done on the Insider- and usually involves having to rebut falsehoods about his career, Hey, over here I only have to argue “decent”, over there he’s Ryan Leaf.
Sorry to be so adamant about things- I’m just delighted to see Smith perform well and lead these last couple great wins. As Chuck knows, I’ve thought he’d be a top QB ever since he was drafted. Obviously that hasn’t worked out- and things have gone so poorly for him here, even I have the occasional feeling that it will go awry again- injury, whatever. Anyway, just a great win all around.
yes, excellent win. went to the store, Niner fans heads were held high!!
It’s funny how begrudging in praise some are of what have clearly been excellent performances, especially the last two weeks- he was decent and got lucky bounces last week, today he was “good”. No, maybe your boy was good, Alex was excellent. If I’m crowing about it a little, tough shit. Just wait until he gets his extension….
Better to crow than to eat crow mama always said
Smith is having the season he’s having for one single reason and it’s the reason I used to project a hopeful year for him in 2011: Harbaugh. Not only is Harbaugh teaching him shit (and that obvious watching his decision making) but he’s instilled a confidence in him that he’s never had, that all successful qb’s have to have (GrumpyGuy nailed that above).
If Sing or Nolan or some other clueless coach was in charge of this operation you would not be seeing Smith perform this way. He’s got skills, obviously. He just needed the right coach and some confidence to translate it into success at the pro level……….
And Dennis, I’m assuming you incessant first half blather from the Philly game about “Firing Harbaugh!” is another thing you’re ready to admit you were wrong about. Well, maybe not you, but another guy *like* you………
Flav, I wanted Harbaugh fired after he made his intentions known he wanted to bring back Alex. I don’t waiver. This team can not, and will not win a championship with him at QB. I don’t care how well he’s played so far this year.
Alex Smith is a fucking mook. That will never change.
“This team can not, and will not win a championship with him at QB” Actually, you’re already weaseling out of your prevous attacks-not long ago he was the worst, awful, terrible- now you’re just saying they won’t win the Super Bowl both him..
I ain’t weaseling out of shit. I still think he’s a god awful pussy and mook. After he needed his campaign manager and resident bitch, Vernon Davis, to speak up for his ass last yr in that Philly game, I don’t know how any of my fellow Niner fans can root for him with good conscience. He wanted out of that game, and if not for Vernon, Singletary was going to bench his sorry ass. If that’s the type of leadership and drive you want in your QB, you take him. I want nothing to do with that gutless mook.
And Dennis, twin is highlighting a perfect example of your WORST behavior in all of this. The death threats, eh, I just chalked that up to you being an idiot, I didn’t actually think you were going to kill Alex Smith. But to watch Smith rise from the ashes and succeed would be something that, as a supposed 49er fan, you might want to appreciate, regardless of what a fucking dumbass it makes you look like with said appreciation. But no, you ratchet up your prediction from “worst qb who I want to kill” to “he’ll never win a SB for the Niners.” Sorry dude, either you’re drunk or just stupid, but if you can’t see how idiotic that makes you look, I am finally and totally done talking about this. You just don’t understand any of this and I’ve accepted that. This is the last you’ll hear from me on the subject. Go back to your regularly scheduled “Mook” comments. Really clever that is, by the way………
ha, you don’t know how they root for him? Hmmm, maybe because they are Niner fans and he’s been playing great this year? You’ve still never explained how you are rooting for him to fail while supposedly rooting for your *team* to win. After the beers wear off I’d love to hear that logic. God, just make the move over to the Cowboys blog and STFU already. I can’t believe I waste any time on discussing this with you, you just don’t have the capacities necessary to *get it*……..
Dennis is also lying about what happened in last year’s Philly game
And I don’t have a problem with admitting I’m wrong. I’ve said it many times before. Unlike the leading Alex Smith apologist.
And just what is it with people in general on blogs who constantly have to say, “I was right.” “I told you so.” Does that really help their self-esteem, ego and overall well being?
“I told ya that RG from Oregon couldn’t play a lick.” They pound their chest when saying this while their wife or girlfriend is getting schtupped by their next-door-neighbor. “My children hate me and my wife cheats on me, but I told ya about that QB.”
you can’t admit you’re wrong because you don’t even know what the hell we are talking about. The fact that you would obsess on some perceived encounter from LAST year, after I already explained to your dumbass that Harbaugh has given him a confidence he’s never had before, just shows me that you don’t even understand the most basic concepts of time.
Hey dipshit, we are 4-1 and the guy who you wanted to kill has led us there. You said 1-4 (at least that’s what Chuck said you said, I didn’t verify that). So, exactly, is the dumb fucking mook?
“at least that’s what Chuck said you said, I didn’t verify that”
Listen to the third-party hearsay. Those always make for great arguments, especially in court. Perry Mason you’re not. Or maybe you’re just Raymond Burr…
It’s Harbaugh to the extent that he’s installed a compatible system- and they can talk- they’re both smart, and both are QBs.Jim also knows what it’s like to strugggle with a shit team- he had very good and quite bad seasons in the NFL- but whatever, they obviously have a great relationship- what a difference from past years..
In many ways, it’s the perfect coach/QB relationship. Harbaugh was always the *other* guy, the same guy Smith BECAME after the couple of years it took to realize he wasn’t going to be Joe Montana. , But Harbaugh kept forcing his way into starting jobs and after several years (hmmm, sound like anyone we know?) he finally turned his determination into success. But Harbaugh had something that Smith didn’t have, and that’s confidence. Who gives a shit if he didn’t have it before, he’s getting it now and that’s all I care about.
I think Harbaugh sees himself in Smith and that’s why he took this project on and I think he knew this was going to work out if they had the opportunity to work together…….
Here’s an idea phony-fan Dennis. Just keep telling us about the Catch game you went to and the fucking picture on your wall. If you think that makes you a fan then by all means, you are an epic fan, dude. But here’s tip, they’ve actually played some games since that year. Teams go in cycles. If all you are is some fair weather pussy who throws a tantrum when he doesn’t have Joe Montana as his QB then please, and I think I speak for the 49er fan base here, get the fuck out and go embrace your butt buddy Romo with both cheeks spread wide open………..
Now I’m a fair-weather fan AND a phony.
This is some funny shit, Flav. What time do you open up at the Punch Line?
I’ll take two down front. And don’t even think about watering down my drinks.
More stupid bullshit from you. Do you ever mount an actual argument with facts about anything or is your vocabulary restricted to words like “mook” and “kill”? Honestly, I have no idea why i keep going, I have dinner on the table, I’ve even got a friend over tonight. And I am sitting here blathering away with you. Ok, I’ll stop. Shit, I said I’d stop before.
Dennis, I’ve tried to engage you in some mature discussions that match facts vs facts. You have responded with a story about Smith from last year as well as a weird obsession with Romo. Neither makes much sense. But I’m not going to keep trying to explain this shit to you if those are your 2 arguments that I get over and over and over and fucking over again.
You should talk to your therapist about why you’re such a negative, stubborn dumbass. Maybe put a team of therapists on that one. Move to Vienna if it would expediate the process. I clearly have no influence on you and while you might think I am being an asshole, I have tried to get you to see the most basic of concepts. Epic fail on my part. Hey, I own it. Try owning something one time……….
After leading all day with both of my fantasy teams, I’m now getting backdoored without even the common courtesy of a reacharound.
“I bet you’re the kind of guy that would fuck a person in the ass and not even have the goddamn common courtesy to give him a reach-around. I’ll be watching you.” — Gunnery Sgt. Hartman.
if your take on this team before the season started in any way translates to an understanding of how to put together a fantasy football team I will go on record right now that you will be finishing in last place. And I don’t want to hear about your 3-1 record or whatever it is. You led the Flap league for a bit before fading into oblivion. You know Dennis, I don’t mind dissenting opinions. I’ve come to accept them quite easily. Yesterday, a blogger suggested that I was celebrating the Howard injury. Years ago, that would have sent me into a frothy attack. But I’ve changed, that shit doesn’t bother me anymore.
What still absolutely bothers me are pussies who get proven wrong and who can’t fucking man-up and admit it. Here’s a question for you dumbshit: If the Niners won a SB with Smith QBing where do you go from there? That you are absolutely positively certain he’d never win 2? Just STFU about Smith already, every word you type just embarrasses yourself that much more……….
Transcript from Kawakami on the Smith/Singetary blow up. Dennis is lying.
” Q: What happened when you were going to put Carr in but didn’t?
Singletary: At that time I was contemplating putting David Carr(notes) in the game. And after talking to Alex, decided not to.
Q: What did he say?
Singletary: I’m not going to go through that. It’s [exchanges] we had on the sideline and it’s personal.
Q: Were you mad at him?
Singletary: Was I angry? (The question seemed pretty clear.)
Q: You looked animated.
Singletary: The bottom line is it’s something that we talked about and I’d rather keep it personal. (Still didn’t answer the clear question that was clarified.)
Q: Did you change your mind because of what he said or the way he said it?
Singletary: What he said.
Q: How do you feel he responded?
Singletary: He went in and scored.
Q: Are you feeling better about him now?
Singletary: I leave this game feeling disappointed that I think a pretty decent football team is 0-5. Disappointed for them because we put ourselves in this situation and only we can get ourselves out.
Q: You thought about going with Carr because of what? To get Alex out of there?
Singletary: I thought at the moment I really wanted to see what his response would be. More than anything, in a situation like that, a quarterback that has anything in him is going to have something to say about that. We’re in the situation, how do we get out of the situation? Hopefully you’re part of the solution.
And I think in the conversation that we had, I felt he felt he was part of the solution. And we went forward from there.”
Dennis is NOT lying. Vernon Davis convinced Alex to stay in the game…
“As lousy as the fumble was, as erratically as Smith has played this season, as shaky as the 49ers’ once-bright future now appears, his teammates still had his back. As Smith walked away from Singletary after their meeting escalated into a low-melodrama shouting match, tight end Vernon Davis steered the sixth-year quarterback right back toward the embattled head coach.”
After Alex walked away, Vernon “steered” him to go back.
I’m a lot of things, but I’m not a liar. Don’t you ever call me that again you self-righteous pompous ass.
Why is this an issue with you? You’re fucking obsessed with the past, man. You don’t have a clue about last year’s team or what went on. I’m assuming you are wetting your panties over a concern that Alex isn’t a leader? Ever heard what gore and Davis say about him? Forget words if you must, are you watching him lead this team this year? If anything you said made a lick of sense I’d back off but I’m sick and tired of your bullshit. I’m assuming everyone is. In a couple of years the cowboy blog guys will feel the same way…
I don’t know that Alex will ever win a playoff game. No one can know that until he does or his career ends. I *DO* know he is playing the best football of his career, and that he is the only pony in this race, as far as your San Francisco 49ers are concerned. So unless the Green Bay Packers suddenly take leave of their goddamned senses and offer us Aaron Rodgers for Chilo Rachal and a case of Doctor York’s fucking water bottles, I’m not going to worry about that shit. I’ll just be happy to root for Alex to get as far as he can this year, and let the future take care of itself.
Oh, and Twinnie, regardless of how much you hate me: I said last week was decent because Alex was middling first half, excellent second half. It was not really meant as an insult, ya mook (LOL). This time, no reservations or qualifications: he was outstanding, opening kickoff to baseball hat on the sideline. Alex’s best game as a pro. Superior from start to finish. Give him his due: this is the game he needed to prove to everyone that he can do it. Now he just needs to keep on keeping on.
I don’t hate you, I just think a lot of folks apply different standards when it’s Smith. You’ve got to think most big comebacks occur because the team and QB probably weren’t too hot early. I think Chuck brought up the NO 28 point comeback- I’d wager that Joe wasn’t doing too well when they were down 35-7. I don’t think I recall reading that Montana was decent in the comeback win…
Why would anyone do anything BUT root for him? If he went down or was replaced, I’d be terribly disappointed but I’d root for the new QB
Where’s the bus to crazytown? Another epic win, the biggest since the Walsh era no less, and another bunch of blather about Alex and Sing’s argument last year?
How’s Smith doing this year, Dennis? I’ll give ya a hint.
Well, no I won’t, fuckwad. Deal with what you have to deal with, but enough with the whining about the past and bemoaning Smith. 4-1 was WAY off your radar. You should be thrilled. If you ain;t, then I don’t bother following the team.
You are treading into V territory with the Montana talk and the bitching on the team while they are going well. Yeah, it’s for now, but this team looks real, and it is IMPROVING. No one has called Smith the 2nd coming. Least of all, you. However, he’s in the top 6, he’s close to a 100.0 rating, and is going well with a coach that gets QBs,
If you don’t like or get that, oh well. Don’t watch, don’t post. Your crowning glory today was bitching about the time out Smith called in the 1st quarter. Bully.
Morgan’s out with a fractured ankle. Edwards not expected back til after the bye. Might bring up Harbaugh’s WR on the PS, Matthews. Or even Ziggy. I think he’s out there.
OMFG anybody here like that first TD pass from alex ?
WOW !
No. That was awful. Someone should kill the guy who threw that pass! 🙂
DEL
LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE !
you hate the ” coach killer ” almost as much as NOFEAR does …
admit it !
We put up 2- Hundy rushing yards today. I’m not sweating out depleted receiving core. Our tight ends and gore can handle the load if we decide to go through the air. But I’ll tell ya, this gore/hunter thing is nice. More of that, please.
Fuck ziggy. What ziggy knows about the 2011 offense is about the same as what you and me know about it. This ain’t no 2010, unless you’re Dennis and you’re stuck there….
Chuck can you try to figure out why a lot of my posts keep going into spam? When that happens at the flap I usually just send it back to the blog a few times and the filter gets it.
