Saturday was the first day of camp, and aside from the head coach getting in a major accident, the first weekend is in the books and the usual suspects are still dealing with their injuries.

Stribling and Evans are already getting rave reviews from Brock, and as much as I want to fix the line, getting guys open is also a high priority. Last year’s pass catching corps was fairly weak with Kittle and Pearsall being hurt for extended periods, and the lack of depth among the WRs. Purdy didn’t have the luxury of anyone really consistently open. Although Jake Tonges did a great job stepping in for Kittle.
McCaffery is in nid-season form apparently, and Kaelon Black is getting the backup reps for CMC, and has looked good in his limited work. Let’s start easing up on CMC, OK Shanny?

Training camp reports are pretty much written by homers and until the pads come on nothing means that much but I like what I am hearing about Black. Even though I do this with rookie rb’s every year I think Black might be the one this year.
Shanny takes full responsibility for the accident even though somehow the police reported it as her fault.
It was a head-on collision when he crossed the middle of the road reaching for his phone. He said he wasn’t on it but was trying to get it out from between the seats. He said 20 MPH but wow, that’s a lot of damage from just the air bag. I guess that’s a 40 MPH impact unless the woman going the other way was going faster. Didn’t say the road.
Seems odd, because I hit a woman when she was pulling out of her driveway and she hit the gas instead of the brake. Her car lunged into the road in front of me. I was going about 30 and she was going 20 at a 90° angle, and neither car deployed their airbags. Fucked the shit up out of my van, but it was driveable.
That is, until the bungee cord i used to hold the hood closed broke and the hood flew into the windshield at about 50 MPH driving down Beach rd out of Sunset Beach in Watsonville. If you know the road, there’s a canal 3′ poff the road and as i tried to slow down, the guy behind me swerved around me and looked like he was gonna gimme a load of shit till he saw what was happening. Esp the panic on my face as I looked out a 2″ gap between the hood, the dash and the smashed windshield.
The road was Alma in PA. chuck- I was in a 56 ford step side when the hood wrapped up the wind shield going 60+ on hwy 49 between Grass Valley and hwy 80, at least I could stick my head out the side window. That wakes you up right away. All I can hope for is to be injury free and competitive in our division.
Huh. Not a high speed road by any means. But a head -on collision is like 50-60 MPH.
