Wow. I was worried about the defense when the offense shit the bed. Namely Brock Purdy. After the surgical 8 1/2 minute drive to open the game, Purdy proceeded to throw 3 interceptions to try and keep Carolina in the game. Not sure if this is due to his toe issue, but it sure looks like there isn’t a lot of power behind those deep throw attempts. the real bad one was INT 2 as we were on the doorstep ready to score, and Purdy had the 1st down by running, or simply dumping the ball off to Kittle.
Instead, he badly underthrew Pearsall and it was picked in the end zone. So, bad decision compounded by a poor throw. The 1st pick would have been picked by someone else had Purdy led Jennings properly. Instead he threw behind him, and was picked. The 3rd was simply CB Horn playing Purdy’s tendency of throwing deep crossers. He undercut the route easily for pick 3.
But hey, the defense came to play. I LOVED that Saleh came out and played press man early. It really slowed their offense down and led to the pick in the end zone. The only time we really let up on the press man was on their TD drive. But Brown had a game for the ages as he had 2 picks, and the defense stuffed the run. Still not a lot of pressure, but we did get Young off his spot and defended the short passing game we get killed with so much.
Chalk one up to Saleh and his defensive wizardry.

Saw this tour at the Greek and the crowd went nuts when he hit the 1st notes to this. Top 3 of any live show I’ve ever seen.
Moehrig did get suspended a game for what he did to Jauan. So glad his biz got sorted out and he’s big part of what they do. Glad he confronted this a-hole.
Glad to see the Niners stand up to cheap shots.
D lineman Sam O is out for a while with the dreaded high ankle sprain. That’s too bad, he is a decent player and the already thin D line gets worse.
Also, the Niners signed LB Eric Kendricks. He’s the guy the team thought they had a deal with but he turned them down in the last minute and went to the Cowboys.
I hope he likes humble pie because he didn’t even make the 53, he’s on the practice squad at least initially.
Christ. This is beyond ridiculous with the injuries.
I tell ya, not sure if press man is a great idea against a guy as mobile as Sanders, but it worked pretty well vs Young. Point being he HAS to feel uncomfortable. Show different looks and get people back there.
I know we are thin as paper on D but that’s why these guys are on the team.
