Deadline Day

At this point I think the team really needs to make a mover to bolster the D line. Esp DE. Even with Bryce Huff coming back. He’s best when able to rotate in and out to stay fresh. There are a bunch of guys available including ex-Niner Arden Key, Bradley Chubb, Kavon Thibodeaux of the Giants, and many others. Hendrickson would be a pure rental and way too pricey. Chubb is likely out of their price range as well.

I’ve mentioned Granderson from the Saints as he shouldn’t cost more than a 4th at worst. And there are a lot of mid-rage guys out there. Much like the guy we just got. Keion White from the Pats for a 6th rounder. He looks to get a lot of playing time with the injury to Mykel Williams. And Bryce Huff should be returning from his hamstring injury, but they really should make a move or 2 mainly because of all the injuries and decimation on the defensive line.

Or they stand pat. We will see soon enough.

Jermaine Johnson edge of NYJ available and CB Sauce Gardner ti Colts for two 1sts.

Both are youn̈g and in same jets draft class with 1st #10 WR Garrett Wilson and a RB Breece ??? Who was a late 1st pick moved down to an early 2nd.

looks like nyj will do that again next April.

Damn. Jets trade Quinnen Williams to the Cowgirls for a 1st round pick, and Sauce Gardner to the Colts for TWO 1st round picks.

Thought we’d do something. I keep hearing Thibodeaux’s name but nothing yet.

  3. Winder's avatar Winder says:

We will probably pick up some low rent players and hopefully save our draft picks. Our team is so beat up we aren’t gonna go far in any playoffs anyway.

That’s all I’m really looking for at this point. I mean, Ferrell did OK but that was the Giants we were facing. The Rams are a much tougher deal.

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Oh well. They are fine with Keion White as their only addition.

Our schedule is so weak we should win 11 games. If we lose in the wild card round then draft position is 19 to 24. Really hope this is a strong OT college class.

Quinnen Williams was a player NJ49er and I disagreed with on draft day. I thought he was lazy. NJ loved him. I’d say NJ was right on this one.

Loved QW as a DT, but not as a pick over Bosa. So glad AZ picked Kyler.

AZ may just keep Brissett and trade Murray next year. Murray’s got another 4-8 weeks of recovery time due to his foot problem and may not eve play the rest of the way.

I like what the Jets did today. They should have 4 1st rounders next year and good position.

yep, play mac Jones to derive max draft capital before draft next April, maybe a 1st in 2026

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Pretty sure they will draft one with all that capital, but who knows. They have seen just what happens when they throw a rook to the wolves. So I bet they do pick up a journeyman also.

That’s why they signed Jones to a 2 year deal. They made the mistake of not doing that with Darnold. His stock went way up and they got nothing for him.

Even if Jones didn’t get all this playing time, his stock would still be very high. Nothing short of a devastating injury will change that.

But I shouldn’t say that. It’s just maddening that they threw Purdy out there too soon in week 4. This training staff is s fucking joke.
