Looking for Mr. Good Rush

The Niners have nearly finalized a trade w/ the Iggles for Bryce Huff. The UDFA edge rusher that had a breakout season with the Jets, getting 10 sacks without having started a game. The trade if for a mid-round pick apparently. He signed a 3 year deal with the Eagles last year, but wa sidelined by injury and missed the Super Bowl.

Got to say, at least the 49ers aren’t sitting on their thumbs like their counterparts in baseball.

Rick Derringer and Terry Kath( Chicago) were 2 of the most underrated guitarist of all time imo.Great songwriters as well! Did get to see Derringer with Johnny Winter& a special appearance by his brother Edgar it was crazy good at Winterland SF, in the mid 70’s,another underrated band Wishbone Ash played as well Rock&Roll Hoocie KOO,Still alive and Well,Frankenstein ! Hah!!! Holy shit.

Copied AKs post from the last thread and the guitars grew exponentially.

Saw Chicago with the Beach Boys at a Day on the Green in 1975. Great show. At least Chicago was. I was never that into the Beach Boys.

Huff had his stellar 2023 season under Saleh with the Jets. Like a bunch of other new guys.

  4. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Obvious plug and play piece for Saleh. Huff was a solid guy in the NYJ D.

    Smart addition for us.

wow a strong front 7 with a dee Ford wide 9 wreaking havoc on 3rd and long. Huff is small, quick, and fast. And cheap.

I guess we still draft players with injuries not sure what’s going on with Collins but it would be nice if he was able to practice. This is the time of year for high hopes and this year I think our defense is gonna shine and that will take the heat off of everyone else. Looks like a shakeup of ST also which would be fantastic if we played at a high level, it’s been awhile.

Half of Santana’s first band. With the Tubes drummer in the mix.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, Tom all I’ve read about Huff in Philly is how they misused him.

  9. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I hope he turns out better than the last D-lineman we got from philly. Remember when they said Hargrave was the best FA signing of the year. I think they said that about Ford also. Anyway the guy does sound like he could really help us out this year.

  10. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

everyone not named shanalynch knew Ford wasn an injury risk. Even KC letting him go was a bit of a red flag. It almost worked.

They’ve been struggling to fill the hole left when they bailed on DeFo.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

I am still totally pissed about that.

      • unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, the fact they didn’t even bother to talk to him is the real crime.

      • Winder's avatar Winder says:

What they did was make a statement that money means more than team unity and attitude, Defo was the elder statesman of the team along with Staley, he was completely dedicated to the franchise and was even on a larger level of that or just as much as Kittle and Warner. I know paarage(sp) has power but not that much both Lynch and KS had to sign off on that. So when they talk a lot of that character and team unity stuff they actually have some splainin to do.

Yeah I know John is a !÷# around here but today had good stuff on Nick Martin . 4.53 40 looked good out this week. Better chase LB than Dee Winters so could start on the weak side of Warner .

  12. bakkentom's avatar bakkentom says:

    Cohn…. Winters injury prone also.

NN has good piece on him as well.

Man I loved Badfinger a very underrated band with hits like Baby Blue,No Matter What,Day after Day,Without You(Nilson Remake) etc..it’s a sad story how their manager screwed them over taking all their money made basically, now all the original members have died as well sadly.. I still have a couple of their albums I spin on vinyl are play a song at the local jukebox bar..

  14. bakkentom's avatar bakkentom says:

    From NN,

Well, that news has come to light: a 2026 conditional fifth-round selection, according to CBS Sports’s Jonathan Jones.

The fifth-round pick can turn into a fourth-rounder depending on various performance benchmarks, so the Eagles could get a bump in compensation if Huff plays like the 49ers hope he will.

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Wow. Small price to pay.

  16. bakkentom's avatar bakkentom says:

Some details. Huff is 6’1 5/8, 254 lbs, 31.75 arm length.

That purple people eater defense was awesome. Too bad they never won a ring.

George Mira quarterbacking the Niners in that dismal ’64 season.

    BIlly Kilmer, halfback!

Even when we lost I just loved watching em we has so many good players pass thru.

Trent Taylor to IR, sign of things to come?

  19. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

That’s the end of the line for Trent Taylor his IR status is for the whole season.Geez one of Shanahan’s earliest picks back in 2017 ,age , injuries, and just a So So player at best he’s done..

  20. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

FYI, Taylor had one catch for 11 yards last season.
