You Shore got Purdy Contract, Boy . . .

Can you squeal like a pig?

So, most of the heavy lifting has been done for this offseason, except for, of course, the everloving starting QB is still not signed. Listening to the wonks, they are close, far, making progress, at loggerheads, ready to trade Brock, and ready to back up the money train.

Brock is in the building, participating in things and doing the non-mandatory stuff. Better than BA’s hold-in last year, but still not signed to his extension. It sounds like they have at least reached the floor of $50 mill per, as would be warranted. But, when guys like Kyler Murray are making $51 mill, then Purdy has to think, hey, I have more playoff wins than almost all the top 10 guys combined, therefore, $55 mill should be my floor.

And really, that is a valid point.

These days a lot of this comes down to guaranteed money, deferred money, and signing bonuses before you get to per-year deal, but such are the vagaries of life in the NFL. They can be parsed 6 ways from Sunday, but guaranteed money seems to be what these guys want. Namely because football is inherently as dangerous as fuck-all. Especially for quarterbacks.

Anyhow, not much else going on until the mandatory workouts begin May 27th. Just sign the guy already

New UDFA LB Stone Blanton from Mississippi State.

He makes a fine whiskey, and is moonlighting as a private eye.

Sounds like there is some potential there. Inside linebackers are getting smaller and lighter. We don’t draft players like Willis, Bowman. or Spikes(didn’t draft him) anymore. Although Warner is pretty close. One of my favorite ILB’s was Ulbrich he was 6ft 220 when we drafted him. And he used to just fly around and hit hard. The only problem was he used to move so fast he would go right by the guy he needed to tackle. Anyway I still loved the way he played the game.

Funny, Warner was thought of as a tweener (LB/SS) when we drafted him.

    Overview

    Height – 6’ 3’’

    Weight – 236 lbs

Warner’s future success could largely depend on who takes him and how they use him. While most will view him as an outside linebacker, Warner moves around like a big safety. With his instincts and cover skills in space, finding a hybrid role in sub-packages might be where he is best utilized. Warner’s size, speed and workout at the Combine may play into his draft value more heavily than many other prospects. Warner should find immediate work as a backup who can help on special teams.

Great movie but so disturbing. Seen it twice. Once when it came out and once about 10 years ago when my son wanted to see it.

seen him a couple times. He opened for the Foo Fighters a while back. Great show.

Always love Vinnie Calautti on drums. Doyle Bramhall II has a great guitar rift for augmenting the song. Clark’s guitar solo is off the charts good. I wish I knew who the bassist is. He shows up a lot with some fantastic blues sets.

I would still go for the P-funk show even though age has probably slowed it down some. My guess is that Clinton still surounds himself with younger players.

My daughter is due that week with another granddaughter. Might even impact the Gary Clark show. Hopefully she delivers before July 5th 😁

        Congrats Grandpa

How close are you to Destin Florida?

Good friend has a Summer place there.

Hoping to make a visit at some point.

Be a great opportunity to buy you a beer if we can swing it.

It’s 47 1/2 miles and it looks like an interesting drive. I haven’t been down that way but you are driving right on the water because any other way looks to be 3 or 4 times as long. I think I will try a little bit of that stretch just to see how it is. It looks like you drive by just about every nice beach we have. I haven’t even been to the beach yet.

Yeah I read that the other day. I truly respect his view of defensive players. I kinda like what he’s doing also. A scout for hire and voice of opinion on scouting reports.

Scotty really was the unsung hero of those strong teams in the Harbaugh era.

And yeah, the deal is ‘close’ for purdy.
