One Week . . .

. . . to the rest of the 49ers future. I think we have got enough draft fodder to chew on these days, but the immediate future of the 49ers depends on nailing this draft. But, as far as the front office goes, I guess the future is gonna be WITH Brock Purdy, despite the foot-dragging by this ridiculously stupid front office to drag out the negotiations. But if we are really moving off of Purdy, we are in a galaxy of hurt.

But, let’s not go there. Let’s assume these guys actually have paid attention to the last few seasons and let’s assume our head coach learned some things along the way LAST season. You know. The one that saw the defense look terrible, special teams worse, the red zone struggles, bad clock mangement, and the conservative play calling.

They seem to get it with the firing of DC Sorensen and ST coach Schneider and the hiring of Robert Saleh and Saleh’s Special Teams coach Brad Boyer, so that’s a good thing. But Shanahan’s inconsistent play calling and over-reliance on whoever the RB #1 du jour is, has stifled this offense. THe red zone offense went from first to worst mainly because Shanny used CMC WAY too much in games that were decided way back in 2023, and he missed most of 2024 with injuries. Spell a guy for fuck’s sake.

Anyhow, Real curious to see how this draft goes, and real curious to see what changes this offense has in store. Way too early to speculate, but hey, September will roll around soon enough.

Yeah, I am burned out on all the bullshit mocks. These last two weeks before the draft are always the longest. I am praying and crossing my fingers that we get it right. I still think we go defense first but as long as we hit it really doesn’t matter. Just please no McGrew’s, Balmer’s,Kinlaws, etc.

Yep, they have a long history of missing day one picks. Just fear they will go TE!

Love the twin guitar attack of those old Maiden albums.

Haven;t listened to this in quite a while.

What I noticed is when you post youtube vids in the comment, you cannot type any words in the same comment.

chuck I get that also. on both google and yahoo when I try from youtube most of the stuff I want to put on are live performances and once I shorten the URL I lose the picture and just have the shortened Url. Which is ok but I like when it shows the picture. I think it might have something to do with my apple ans safari.

This is pretty funny. Puka Nacua thinks the 49ers should not offer Purdy a big deal. Thinks he’s worth mid-40s.

    https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/brock-purdy-contract-puka-nacua/1843506/

Because you know, Stafford is getting a paltry $40 mill per on a deal he signed 3 years ago and restructured a couple months ago. What a joke.

I get sick of repeating the fact that the 49ers cannot set the QB market value.

Unless they want to alienate Purdy and drive him somewhere else.

Is Jeff Beck the best ever? Hard to say. His fellow guitar players seem to think so. When Alan Holdsworth, who could be the best, says Beck is the best ever, it has to be an opinion worth hearing.

    • Berger's avatar Berger says:

David Gilmour said, Beck was the best of all of us and once said that Beck’s Blow by Blow was his favorite album. Eric Clapton said of Beck, he was the best, no one can do what he did. Brian May said, when he is in the room, he just puts his guitar down and listens.

Speaking of great guitarists, Steve Hackett is on my Mt Rushmore with Jeff Beck. This song is so different, it has to be shared. The major ending has a choir sing in the Greek language. Corycians are deadly sirens that performed rituals in a cave in Greece. He and his wife hiked up a mountain to see the cave before he wrote this song.

Winder I don’t recall the thread.

Aldon ref was directly at Green or Stewart?

Stewart. 4.5 sacks in 3 seasons. I sure hope they don’t go that route.

Alica Cooper had a great Jeff Beck story.

Saw him with Jan Hammer and saw the MS show for Ronnie Lane. Great stuff.

Jimi Hendrix thanked Beck when he borrowed the riff from Rice Pudding for In From the Storm.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Beck could do everything on the guitar. Can’t remember when but saw him at the fillmore to bad I can’t remember anything about it.

    • Berger's avatar Berger says:

I saw Beck at Anaheim stadium in 1976. He played for a while without Hammer, and then with him. They played just before Aerosmith. I then saw Beck perform his very last show ever, in Reno, about a 1.5 yrs ago.

Well that didn’t work. I’ll try something different

Yeah like Winder mentioned your head keeps spinning like Linda Blair in the Exorcists, figuring out the draft for the 49ers, here’s one I like a lot..

    11)Nolen DT Texas AM 6’3 300 lbs

    59) they trade out of 43 but get a late 3rd pick and take DE Oladejo UCLA 6’3 245

    75) Belton OT 6’6 345

    89) trade pick from Texans TE Fannin Jr 6’3 245 nice complimentary player for Kittle good receiver and blocker

    100) LB Chris Paul Ole Miss a good player that Warner would love

    113) DJ Giddens RB Kansas St 6’O 214 lbs with great speed and doesn’t fumble/ good receiver as well (he’s one of my favorite players!

    160) Yayha Black DT He’s massive 6’6 337 lbs Iowa (an NJ special)

Trade with Ravens to move up giving up 2 sevens and a 6 th next year

    (183) WR/KR Chemerie Dike Florida 4.34 speed

    (249) Center Monheim USC 6’4 307 lbs

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Kat- a lot of that sounds good but you know they are going qb somewhere unless they have their eyes on udfa’s. I would love to see just what players our FO gave gold helmets, that would tell us a lot.

  12. bakkentom's avatar bakkentom says:

Each team would have their own ranking. My gut feel says DE at #11. The next two OT then DT. Of course a Purdy trade would change this. Between now and the 24th hope he doesn’t hold out for avg low 50’s . If higher would do a good trade giving us good capital for this draft.

  13. Winder's avatar Winder says:

This draft can’t come soon enougn, so sick of the media pulling stuff out of their asses just to have something in print. The way they make this draft out to be there are so many sure-fire picks that every team should be winners. Still holding my breath on this one since I don’t have confidence in our FO. We are screwing around with Purdy and KIttle when these two are absolutely no-brainers. If we fuck this one up I believe this current FO will lose me until they are replaced.

  14. Berger's avatar Berger says:

Time to get Boojie Woojying to Thursday and the draft!

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Nope. Too busy pissing off Kittle.

    New thread is up.
