Free Agent Fuck-a-Row

While teams line Chicago build their O line, and Tampa Bay solidifies their defense, the 49ers are busy diddling around with their prospective future QB, ignoring their very explosive LB, and losing guys.

Granted, Moore and Mitchell are afterthoughts, but we have a laundry list of free agents to let loose. Seattle is dumping their high salary old guys, and I guess we will see what their plan is as they find a QB, but should follow suit and make some FA signings and draft with an actual plan.

Here’s our list of free agents:

QB Brandon Allen
OL Aaron Banks
LB De’Vondre Campbell
WR Chris Conley
QB Joshua Dobbs
DT Khalil Davis
Tashaun Gipson
DT Kevin Givens
LB Dre Greenlaw
OL Charlie Heck
Talanoa Hufanga
CB Nick McCloud
Pat O’Donnell
TE Eric Saubert
RB Patrick Taylor
CB Charvarius Ward
CB Rock Ya-Sin

Of those guys, the only priority is Greenlaw. Hufanga is expendable, Ward has his tragedy to deal with, Banks will be too expensive. Gipson too old, Campbell wrote his ticket out. The rest, like Dobbs, K Davis, Conley, Saubert, Taylor, Ya-Sin, and Taylor can be signed on the cheap.

But the 49ers RIGHT NOW need to figure out a weakness to address. OT Mecki Becton is available. G Daniels from the Steelers as well. Point being, focus on the O line in free agency so you can focus on the D line in the draft. Or vice versa.

But have a fucking plan other than shooting your feet repeatedly.

Meanwhile, word comes out of the Blake Snell camp that the Giants didn’t even bother to talk to him after his season here last year. Brillinat strategy by the Giants front office to be fucking morons.

It isn’t about knowing you’re likely out of the running, but give the guy the courtesy of at least acknowledging his time with your fucking team.

Candy-ass operation. I’m getting the same vibe from the Niners front office.

I was really hoping Hufanga would be another 5th rd gem for the 49ers. His second season was awesome and I wish him the best of luck!

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Yes I’m with you Kitty Kat, Hufanga was a stud and brought plenty of energy especially that 2nd season making plays and reminded me of Troy Toulimano ( sp) then The ACL and other injuries and he lost a step very frustrating! Heard rumors he might be going to Broncos..Good luck to him..

Damm Eagles DT Milton Willams signing with Patriots 4/104M as the 49ers continue to sit on their asses( Like SF Giants do)I’m convinced now there just cutting back on all contracts and will not get a F/A player and just do the draft to save money on rookie contracts..

Sam Darnold is the new QB in Seattle 3-years worth nearly 100M as the NFC West gets crazy again.Better get a Purdy deal done soon!!

  3. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I just hope we know what we are doing. I always go to Roto world to keep up to date all this crap and to be honest it doesn’t look good for the Niners. KC penciled in Moore as their starting LT and gave him a bunch of money. Someone gave Kinlaw and bunch of money also. He ended up with 41/2 sacks and a bunch of tackles with the Jets. It makes me wonder about our coaching staff. But just about everyone we have talked about is gonna sign with another club. FA is not looking good for the red and gold.

    • NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

We’ve got too much to invest in Purdy and dead money to deal with. Older players with fat contracts and little wiggle room for FA spending. Gotta think player for player deals at this point or, Draft day perhaps?

They’ve got to free up money with restructuring some current deals as well.

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Well, they have to get Purdy done before they can think about others.

Which is why I have little faith In These guys. They are gonna call contract constraints on making deals as they dick around with Purdy.

  5. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

They’re hanging on to Patrick Taylor.

  6. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

wow. Banks would have been the guy to keep. Too pricey I guess.

    Sorry Brock.

we dont want to pay you and we dont want to protect you.

  7. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

    Aaron Banks to GB 4yrs/$77M

  8. bakkentom's avatar bakkentom says:

Dre Greenlaw 3 yr /35 mil to Denver

When they leave does it help the

      Calculations:

Cap Space = (Team Salary Cap) – (Active Cap Spending) – (Dead Money)

Team Salary Cap = (Base Salary Cap) + (Carryover) ± (Adjustments)

Effective Cap Space: the cap space a team will have after signing at least 51 players and its projected rookie class to its roster.

  9. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

And now Greenlaw goes to Broncos at 3/35M to join Hufanga’s 3/45M ( 30M guaranteed) Niners aren’t doing SQUAT but dumping players a total shitshow on day 1 FA’s, sure their dumping Juice next after the TE Will Luke Farrell splurge 🤪

  10. 12th Man's avatar 12th Man says:

Yup Juice has been informed he’s being released, he says he’s going to continue playing.

So far losing Collins was the only surprise to me.

I will talk baseball also, I know it is spring training games, but damn the SF Giants are scoring runs.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

I love seeing it has to be good for moral and whether it carries over to the regular season or not it says a lot about the team right now. I think we will be competitive this year baring the dreaded injuries.

  13. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

looks like they are following the SF Giants into mediocre town.

    this is really fucking disappointing.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Yeah, looks like a total rebuild to me. It’s probably the last year for McCaffrey and Williams. It doesn’t really bother me as much as I thought it would. Just as long as we have a solid draft I think it is kinda needed since we didn’t fucking fool anyone last year. Let Purdy gel with the new guys and will see if it was a good idea or not. Curious as to Bosa and Warner but hopefully they stay healthy.

  14. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

I’ll put Cam Skattebo on my list to replace Juice.

    • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

.Skattebo has red flags 🚩 going on as an x- teammate is suing him for 300K after he required surgery on his elbow ( ending his career) after Skattebo went scatterbrain on a golf cart and jumped on the back seats causing it to collapse.Right now he’s MIA trying to be served a summons to appear in court.. Niners don’t need that kind of headcase..

  15. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Some hack job yesterday as Niners lose and dump Juice,Banks,Moore,Greenlaw Dobbs Ward,Hufanga,Mitchell,Collins,Saubertprobably gone with TE Farrell’s ice cream parlor( think Zoo on the west coast days)signing and who knows else more are on the chopping block?

11 Draft picks now? They better hit BIGTIME , atleast they will get younger more with plenty of cheap rookie contracts to help get out of some of the dead cap money as Jed tightens the teams spendings..
