Back to the Future . . .

Or, journey to the past, I guess. Well, the stars aligned for us this time. After a season of fuckups, bad timing, stupid machinations, bad breaks, 12,000 penalties, and a ton of injuries, the football Gods threw a wrench into the Jaguars hiring of Robert Saleh as their new head coach.

Liam Coen instead left the Buccos to take over the garbage scow that is the Jacksonville Jaguars after the late and bizarre dumping of our dogshit ex-GM Trent (i-rode-on-McLoughan’s-coattails) Baalke. The dumping of Baalke caused Coen to cancel his interview to stay in Tampa, and that caused Saleh to cancel his 2nd interview with Jacksonville. Fuck the Raiders. That didn’t even come into play, but whatevs.

We have a guy that was pretty damn successful as our HC before and during the Nick Bosa era and he had a lot of success. So, I’m for one, thriled at this news. Sure, if he does grerat, all those new HC positions will open up again, but hey, that]s a bridge to burn at a later date. As we all know, the NFL is about right now, and right now I like our defense a lot more than I did yesterday.

A good draft, a weak-ass schedule, and we should be OK for this season.

As far as Sunday goes, I’m pretty sure a lot of you are pulling for Washington and Buffalo.

I mean, fuck the Iggles and the Refs, uh, Chiefs.

What a fucking insanely heavy song. Young Peter Frampton just killing it. Never saw these guys but I did see Frampton. At Winterland and one of the ODs on the Green. The one with Skynyrd and the Outlaws. Good times.

My first-ever concert at age 15 was Humble Pie around ’71 or ’72 at the Asbury Park Convention Center on the boardwalk. Frampton had left by then. I had all their albums, what a great rocking group. Marriott died too young…

Oh, man. Your killing me. Musta been a hell of a concert. Funny thing is, my wife is watching this stupid show called Later Daters and this woman (70 years old) was talking about her first husband who died in a house fire cuz he was drunk and passed out.

I’m like ‘wait a minute! I know that story’ She was married to Steve Marriott. Which sent me down this rabbit hole. When I was in high school a friend’s grandparents had a bunch of cabins on this little lake in New Hampshire. Me and a couple friends spent a couple weeks after graduation out there and someone brought this tape. Played the shit out of it.

Great stories, true rockers of the times. Loved the Small Faces when they first came out.

Pete the cheat to ther Raiders????

Wow. This won’t age him at all.

Man, this shit gives me chills. Funny to think what woulda been if Ronnie Wood stayed with the Faces and Mick Taylor stayed with the Stones.

Ronnie Lane killing it. Kenny Jones on the skins. Just great great stuff. And pre-disco Rod Stewart.

    • Winder's avatar Winder says:

Yeah, I think the Stones were at their best with Taylor and the Faces with Wood. I also think Clapton was at his best with Derick and the Dominos.

This article good for a debate

Naaah. More of the pussification of the game. Part of the mystique of football is it is an outdoor game played in the elements.

Everyone pines for the old days of football. Memorial Stadium. Metropolitan Stadium. Lambeau Field. Even Kezar. Snow games. Mud bowls. The frozen tundra. But Jenkins and fucking Bayliss whine for ‘meaningful’ games to be played indoors on carpet?

      Fuck that.

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

So far so bad. Washington gave that one away with fumbles aplenty. Shame they coughed that one up as Philly’s defense wasn’t doing too much in the way of stopping Daniels. The refs sure pitched in as well. Amazing how blatantly horrible officiating is sometimes.

  6. alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

So ridiculous how the NFL still lets the Puss Tush to continue! Fuck there was 2 encroachment penalties on Commaders from the 1 and the Refs actually said if you do it again we have the option of awarding a TD for Eagles? WTF they can’t be seriously 😳 It took like 10 minutes to run those plays 1/2 a yard Twice on penalties and unsportsmanlike crap!

This Fucking Shit has to end its supposed to be football not a rugby scrub!! Make this play illegal in the off-season!!

    • Paul Sorensen's avatar Paul Sorensen says:

Agree, AK. I obviously missed the time when they started allowing it, remembering well that it was illegal for years to aid a runner like that. When did that rule change? Anyway, yeah, it turns a QB sneak into a rugby scrum. Ugly play.

Eagles and Chiefs. Somewhere, DJ Loo is happy…

      • alleykat69's avatar alleykat69 says:

Yeah P/A Loo has the lucky unicorn 🦄 going for him with his Chiefs that’s for sure.. Man I can’t stand either team but I guess I have to root begrudgingly root for the Eagles as I do appreciate what Barkley has done this year bringing the RB position relevant again..

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Yeah, sorry, NJ. Got to pull for the Iggles. Yeah, it’s stupid they are allowing linemen to just push the pile anywhere on the field. And the brotherly shove.

Not sure when they just turned a blind eye to that.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Got to say, for all our struggles, no one has it worse than Buffalo. Maybe the Vikings. And the Packers. Always in the playoffs, always falling short.

    • Paul Sorensen's avatar Paul Sorensen says:

At least Packers have won a few SBs. Didn’t the Bills lose 4 SBs with Jim Kelly as QB? Maybe even 4 in a row? Eek. Josh Allen probably wishes he didn’t enter the NFL around the same time as Mahomes. Allen just can’t get past KC when it counts.

Don’t worry about football, guys. The league has their dream matchup for the Super Bowl with those two stupid teams but here at Niners Forever we have our dream matchup of Chuck and YouTube. Keep on cranking those vids out and we can keep on rockin in the free world.
