Game 15 – It All Winds Down to Nothing

Two disappointing teams wracked with injuries playing out the string. I’m sure I’ll watch some of it, and I will tape it, but since this looks like a complete bad penny year with the most likely re-do for most of these guys, I guess I just want to see us play non-stupid football for a change.

I mean, we might as well start some time.

And get rid of the ST coach and the DC.

  2. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Saw this lineup in 1975 at the old Winterland ballroom.

  3. willedav's avatar willedav says:

Couple nice grabs by Deebo and he sticks one in end zone after Purdy got sacked. Nice drive.

  4. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Week 16 and a ton of pre-snap penalties.

    We are a disorganized mess.

    And another!!

  5. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

This team is so scared to blitz. Or to generate pressure. So we make up for that by playing soft zone with the LBs. Winters is really not very good.

Good to see we still have pre-snap penalties, sift coverage, can’t pass pro, and are repeating the same mistakes.

    Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffft

  7. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Pre-snap penaltiy #10.

  8. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Wow. Just wow. 1st and goal from the 2 becomes 4th and 13 from 28 and the missed FG.

Pre-snap penalties are absolutely on the coaching staff. Week 16 and you cannot figure out how to line up? They did it on 2 consecutive punts, and 2 consecutive plays this drive.

    Hysterical.

    Nice drive. Stupid penaalty.

Why are the Niners struggling with defending the screen

  11. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Listening to this game — why I’m not sure.

Niners discipline seems to have imploded on both sides of the ball. Idiocy and mistakes and missed FGs on Special Teams is now a yawn — it’ just a given. You can blame it on second and third stringers playing, but not all of it. Lining up offsides, lining up without the required number of bodies on the line of scrimmage on offense, and post-play shoving some dude in the back in front of the ref is high school discipline. Let the wheels come off I guess, the more the better the draft position…

  12. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

    Illegal substitution.

    Unnecessary roughness.

    Brock coming up ant small.

  13. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

Niners need a personnel purge in the offseason. Need to bring back Saleh, too. Open the checkbook for him. New Special Teams coach and force Shanny to actually know where the Special Teams meeting room is. Lynch and staff have to crush the draft with both sides of the ball linemen, and linebackers. More holes, but too many to mention…

  14. snarkk's avatar snarkk says:

When’s the last time the Niners actually through a pass INTO the end zone to a targeted receiver? It’s like they’re afraid to do it. Receivers can’t separate is one thing, but target Kittle in the EZ and throw him the toss up ball and let him get it. Their Red Zone offense has been an absolute clusterF the entire season with penalties, turnovers and stupid, cowardly play calling — today included. Hate to say it after the guy has come back from getting shot, but Pearsall looks like a 4th -5th round pick, not a first…

  15. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Brock really looked awful these past weeks with the games on the line. Kittle was wide open on the pick. Purdy doesn’t progress with his reads sometimes.

We really have no choice but to pay him, but they may need to take a flyer on a QB either this year or next.

Yeah. Pearsall was just a bleh pick for me. No reason for that. They need to make the o line a priority. And now the D line.

  16. Winder's avatar Winder says:

I didn’t pay any attention to this game at all and I am glad that I didn’t. Sounds like not only nothing has changed but it has gotten worse. Makes me sad because there are still some wonderful players on this team. The media will probably up their nonsense these next few weeks. Fuck it.

  17. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

I think Pearsall will be better than he has shown, gets shot, no training camp. If Aiyuk had not gotten hurt he would have seen very little playing time. I don’t even consider this his rookie year.

  18. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

I hope so. We drafted a guy in the 1st round that wasn’t a position of need. And I thought Trent Baalke’s drafts were nonsensical.

No idea why they felt the need there. I think this draft was solid but for the Pearsall pick.

  19. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Well, I guess it is good news Dallas won as it improves our draft position.

    For what that’s worth.

The media isn’t gonna address the issues with this team. They still think Shanahan is an offensive genius. That we still have a dominant defense.

This article talks about what we already know

  21. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Flashbacks of another wasted Draft pick in the high end of the order Irish.

    Mike McGinchey 🤮

Might want to think about McKivitz at LG for a sneak peek before the U-Haul exodus begins.

You don’t see Cowboys blogs rocking out to classic rock like we do here. Don’t stress, guys! Next year will be better!

  23. NJ49ER's avatar NJ49ER says:

Trent, Aaron and Jaylon done for the year. Oline auditions continue. Hope Purdy eats his Wheaties.

  24. Irish Kevin's avatar Irish Kevin says:

How does everyone feel about sitting Purdy for the last 2 games? Make shift o-line and Deetroit Defense, not a good combo, I say sit him

  25. Paul Sorensen's avatar Paul Sorensen says:

Nearly time to say goodbye to 2024: Giants, losing season… Niners, losing season… I’d say 2025 will most certainly be an improvement! Merry Christmas, ya’ll…

  26. Winder's avatar Winder says:

Merry Christmas everyone. Looks like both the Giants and the Niners will at least be in some kind of rebuild mode, at least I hope so. Still no matter what if i’m still around come ST and TC I am sure I will be full of hope and optimism just like always.

  27. unca_chuck's avatar unca_chuck says:

Jesus, NJ, someone out in the greater world sees the picture. We’ve all been screaming that for 3 years now.

That article is spot-on. The RT would be perfect. AND DL help.

    Merry Christmas!

    New thread is up.
