Into the valley of death.
Forward into the breech, me scallywags.
When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honour the charge they made!
Honour the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred!
Riding into the valley of pina coladas and cocaine aplenty, the 49ers charge into Miami. Not as conquering heroes but as a team, much like Miami, with its tail between its legs and falling well short of expectations.
Unfortunately, in the NFL these days, teams fall off the top of the ladder regularly. Cincy rode right down into hell with the Cowboys, 49ers, Dolphins, and Browns. Teams like Minnesota, Washington, San Diego, and Denver sprung out of oblivion (and weak scheduling) to vault into the playoffs.
Not sure where we go from here, but we are gonna keep on keeping on. I’m merely resigned to the fact that we will keep doing the same things that got us to this point. Soft defense, poor special teams play, too many penalties, and scoring problems.
It seems pretty obvious that this team will lose out the string. And that makes me sad. Everyone will write this off as 2020, another injury-plagued season. But I see much bigger issues with the coaching staff and front office.
But we’ll get to rock on to (very) classic rock videos here! That ought to make the inevitable weeks of losing slightly more bearable.
This might help PBro

Can’t argue his points. Many of us have already made them.
The media talks out their asses. Both Hargraves and Deebo are gone that is pretty much a given. I imagine the team will float them out as trade bait but more than likely they will be cut. I like the idea of Saleh coming back but I also like the idea of Ulbrick(sp). Anyway there is so much needed to be done to fix this team that it’s gonna take awhile. Shanny should either be gone or step back and change up his philosophy. There is no room for fucking ego at this stage. I would like to see Gore and staley on board as coaches because whatever we are doing now isn’t working. But then wtfdik.
The fallacy with the NFL is that teams are far away from reaching the top echelon.
There are very few franchises that don’t at least make runs every once in a while. We have been on top for 5 years now, and people call out that the pressure of the playoffs, the extra games, blah blah blah but that hasn’t stopped KC, or the Patriots on their 20 year run, or the Niners and their 18 year run of relevancy.
The days of AZ, Deetroit, and Cleveland being permanent doormats has changed somewhat. Although Cleveland seems to reward one good season with a resounding splat of horrible decisions to bite them in the ass so hard (hello DeShaun Watson) that they are gladly booed by the rest of the league. Baker Mayfield is kicking ass in TB on his playoff run while Watson crashes and burns his way to 3 injury filled dogshit seasons on a deal that absolutely destroyed the team.
But, as long as you have some semblance of normalcy in your front office, you CAN bounce back pretty quick with a couple good drafts and a soft sched courtesy of Jolly Roger.
The Bears looked pretty hot early on the back of Caleb WIlliams. Their coaching staff ran them off the rails, but still and all, they are a pretty good young team that can be relevant quickly.
The Commandos got relevant with their rookie Jaylen Daniels and the Broncos with Bo nix and a tough defense.
If we make the right calls, we an be relevant, but I want to see how the team does now. I have little hope these guys even know how to adjust to the ditch they’ve driven the bus into.
What happened to Deebo? As a casual observer of the Niners, it seemed to me he was a stellar offensive player for awhile there. Now within a couple years, he’s being run out of town. Just wondering what happened to him….
The typical ‘got paid got lazy’ scenario IMO.
wow thanks that was great. Just read Rickey Henderson passed at age 65. Rough year for some of my baseball heroes.
He is one of my favorites too. In fact if I was to pick an all favorite starting nine Rickey would be my LF. I would take him over bonds, and the great Pittsburg outfielders. As a Leadoff hitter he made things happen. He was just great for the game.
Love the way he referred to himself in the 3rd person…. 🙂
Yeah, he did that well too.
Put this kid on the Draft radar
