The Bench Mark as of Now

Jared Goff signed a 4 year , $212,000,000 contract with the Detroit Lions, including $73,000,000 signing bonus, $170,611,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $53 million.he number that

So this is that is pretty much the bench mark. I don;t see Purdy beating that, but he’ll be close. Something like 4/$50 mill.

Aiyuk? Who knows? He’ll get signed though.

I am hoping they do a creative contract with Purdy. Something on the lines of a team friendly long-term 8-10 year guarantee money like Ohtani. That is probably unrealistic but I don’t see why it couldn’t happen. We have this year to see how much he improves.

Yep. This will be his first camp healthy and the starter.

He looked so amazing those first 20 games or so, then came back a little.

The only line that has any meaning in the Jared Goff contract is the “guaranteed money” line.

Goff is guaranteed to get $113,611,832 of which he receives $80,611,832 cash payout. Huge money for a limited QB IMO.

Although the headline grabbing number is $212,000,000, in reality he is guaranteed $99 mil less than that.

A strong contract but really a 2 year deal with the cap hit/dead money value at under $6mil in year 3.

I doubt Purdy signs a deal like this one. He probably looks for a 6 year $250mil deal which would actually be something like 4 year $180mil guaranteed.

All of which depends on what type of year he has with numbers adjusting up or down commensurately. At least that’s what my crystal ball tells me.

Purdy’s much younger so the money will be distributed differently. The deal will more than likely be back-loaded. My only point was the $50 mill a year number looks about right.

He could get 5/$250 mill with $125 guaranteed.
