Here we are again trying to sign a budding star to a deal. Lynch didn’t even bother with DeFo Buckner, he waited forever with Deebo and Bosa, to the detriment of both players, and did pretty well with warner and Kittle. I’m sure I’m forgetting guys, but the lesson here obviously has to be get the deal done before it becomes a major distraction.
Lynch has done nothing but praise Brandon Aiyuk, but talk don’t pay the bills. BA has a great connection with Purdy, and these offensive weapons need to be on the field practicing and grooving rather than cooling their heels on the sidelines.
BA IS under contract this year, so the hope is we get this done before camp and the ugly possibility of a holdout rears its ugly head, but hey, them’s the cards. Deebo flat admitted the contract holdout was a huge distraction and fucked up his 2022 season. Bosa’s holdout seemed to take out his legs to the point of ineffectiveness in long stretches, so get this shit done.
This did make me laugh however. Here’s BAs response to Lynch’s praise.
(for the emoji-challenged among you, it says “Money talks, bullshit walks!”

Get it done, folks. This has to be the first achievement of the newly anointed principal owner of the team, Young Sir Jed is taking the mantle from Eddie’s sister Denise.

BA has a great connection with Purdy, just like Brian Thomas or Adonai Mitchell probably would. The above link has size , stats for both. Purdy is what makes the combo work
Don’t break the cap. If he wants deebo dollars then deal him.
Chuck you are right about the way the FO handles big money contracts. I thought we got Deebo for a pretty good price when it was actually done. I don’t know what BA wants but if we want to compete for a SB this year and probably next he needs to be on the team and ready to play.
Yep, they have the room. Just get this shit done.
Can’t break the bank for a WR with Purdy on the cusp of wanting (and deserving) starter money.
If you can swap Aiyuk for an OT I think you have to consider it. Trent is getting closer to the end now too.
Gonna depend on whether they can get an offer into the top half of the Draft. This class is pretty deep for CB and WR as well.
They haven’t touched those positions in FA which might be a tell.
My guess is the only way they get rid of him is if wants way to much. I also think we lock up Purdy for 8/10 years with deferred money way down the road. Pretty sure they want to be in the SB again this year and a rookie OL. DB, or WR isn’t gonna do it.
Tough situation for sure Winder. They own him this year and have control where he goes, (should he play of course) or he is lost for nothing.
Post Draft cuts will be another round of deals also. From the early noise he doesn’t sound like a guy that really wants to be here unless he gets paid well
We shall see…
Asking Jax for Zay Jones says something too. Would eliminate the rookie concerns to plug and play this season.
NJ I don’t know what they are going to do but also have a feeling he’s not happy here. If that is truly the case then we need to get rid of him. It always seems it’s the WR’s that bring the chaos.
my guess is day 1 will be active. if his agent wants this to go past the draft he will be traded. suspense is who and how much haggling.
too many big contracts bosa , Trent, deebo and Warner, kittle gravedigger already extended.

BA and Purdy have a great thing going. I think BA at least understands that he’s on a very good team and has a shot to win it all and put up big numbers.
If that is less important than a little extra scratch, then so be it.
Like with Deebo, there’s nothing coming directly out of his mouth so the speculation train is barrelling down the interwebs and the brakes are shot.
At this point I’m thinking Lynch makes him a decent offer and if he doesn’t like it, they simply let him play out his deal. We could even franchise him in 2025.
The closing of Winterland. One more song from the show I wish I could remember why I didn’t go.

The Tubes played there 12/28/78. The Remote Control tour. Great show.
New Years eve shows at Winterland were always fun. I went to a few of em.
Holy shit. Tripped hard at this show. The Ramones opened.

Fun city. Playing to the crowd.
The mix is pretty terrible but, man this band was so tight. Fee was out of control at times but the enegry was always there. They were all great musicians.

Terrell Owen’s says “my son will be a 49er, believe it”
They attended his pro day recently 12th. They’re obviously paying attention.

Yeah I saw that NJ. Interesting stuff, Rice, Gore, Owen’s kids. I doubt that will have any sway on who they pick but makes for a fun story anyway.
A reminder of how old I am if nothing else.
Younger McCaffrey too while we’re at it.
I just haven’t had the time to dive into the Draft eval as I normally love to do.
Yeah I missed him, also a WR isn’t he?
we are all getting old seeing the kids of our star players in the draft like this.
Marvin Harrisons boy too.
New theread is up.
